Bongo Bong was originally a song by the French Alternative + Ska + Punk Band "Mano Negra" but under the titel "King of the Bongo" and "Manu Chao" was the singer of that band...after the band split up in 1994 and after a break Manu Chao started his solo career with songs in English, Spanish and French and "Bongo Bong" was his debut single where he took that "Mano Negra song" again changed the musical performance style completely + changed the titel into "Bongo Bong" + added to the song the French "Je ne taime plus" part which was then sung by his girl friend who also had some appearances at some Mano Negra songs already as like as for instance in the song "Out of time man" which is a great song which over 2 decades later got covered by Mick Harvey for the Soundtrack of "Breaking Bad" By the way both "Mano Negra" + "Manu Chao" are truely worth to look into as well.
Romain's French singing adds a touch of je ne sais quoi! This is such a happy song. Every time I watch this I swear the bassist, Gorran will fail to pick the plectrum up or drop it, as he casually sips his wine before delivering his killer base line! Sumptuous song, love the reaction!
Never even cleared the table of plates and glasses..... looked like they decided to sing this a couple of minutes before. However this is Ren's style..... makes it look off the cuff but probably immaculately planned. Such a brilliantly creative man with hugely talented friends...... in front of and behind the camera!
love the reaction and welcome , How to be me live and blind eye mc sessions must be the mc sessions version these 2 tracks might be chill for your channel! hugs all around
I would highly recommend watching/listening to their song "Dignity." Not only is it a beautiful song but the accompanying music video offers the audience an intimate view into their day-to-day on and off-stage interaction. It's almost like being there with them in their home, on the streets, and on stage. It is one of my favorite videos and has been very underappreciated and overlooked by most reactors and fans alike. Here is the link to the video: ua-cam.com/video/3E37nzXX-4g/v-deo.html
So very pleased you have done this one, it always lifts me up, the chemistry and love between the guys is tangible. Lovely reaction, Englishman in New York is another beauty! Romain has his own channel with some brilliant tracks as does Gorran, what talents! "Penitence" Ren with Molly McKinna is very special .
How does Ren sing and play guitar at the same time in this song? Both parts take full concentration. To me this is their most impressive song. These guys are so tight as a band.
Subbed! I really liked your reaction to the Ren/The Big Push songs you did so far. I also appreciate your honesty about your reaction to The Tale of Jenny and Screech. There are some songs by my favorite bands that just don't "hit right" for me. For a very different and unexpected (but beautiful) original song by The Big Push, you might want to try Swan Song, another live rendition. (Hint: It's not blues, reggae, punk or hip-hop.) And for more Eden Nash collaboration, there's Humble, one of my favorites by Ren.
Great reaction, subbed, that was mainly ren n romain singing, if you havent heard it you should listen to paint it black by the big push and hear the other dude, goran, sing, ridiculous cover
Hi dear Ashlena ! Wow, what a cool cover ! I also like the original very much, but it seems that in The Big Push*s covers, there always seem to be a twist of reggae in it. You will hear that in their rendition of Sting's "Englishman in New York", as well, which i would highly recommend to check out next from The Big Push. Loved your reaction to this song here so much and can't wait to see what's coming up next. Best wishes from yourr fan Gerry PS : You look so pretty in this video... with that ponytail and without the glasses.. 🙂
This one is such a vibe! I especially love Romaine's piece. I've found that when I'm learning something new, it works better for me to compare my ability to myself six weeks back rather than to someone who's already a master!
You made me discover a new version of this song wich is realy cool. Thank you for that 🙂 The big Push is such a cool band and so talented. Have a good week-end 🌞
Another enjoyable reaction. For those who don't speak French, here is the English translation of the French part from the Manu Chao original. This was provided by a Ren fan whose name I cannot recall. I don’t love you anymore, my love I will never love you again I don’t love you anymore, my love I will never love you again Sometimes I’d like to die, I really wanted to believe Sometimes I’d like to die, so I’d have nothing Sometimes I’d like to die, to never see you again I don’t love you anymore, my love I will never love you again I don’t love you anymore, my love I will never love you again Sometimes I’d like to die, because there’s no hope Sometimes I’d like to die, to never see you again Sometimes I’d like to die, to forget everything I don’t love you anymore, my love I don’t love you anymore, my love I will never love you again I don’t love you anymore, my love I will never love you again
Love your passion for the guitar. You might want to look up Rainer Brunn´s work here on yt. He´s not only a fantastic player and singer of old time blues music (fingerpicking style), he is also a fantastic teacher, who - at least for my prefered method of learning - gave my playing quite a boost after struggling for some time to make progress.
@@ashlenamusic Glad you like his stuff. There is a fingerpicking guide for beginners (in picking) , that he sells via homespun tutorials. However, if you want to jump in, learning songs right away through video & tabs, just visit his website. However, it´s gonna take a while to build up the thumb independence required for this style. It will enable you to play alternating basslines with your thumb, while your fingers play the melodies and fill the spaces inbetween. That´s where the magic lies. Be patient with yourself. It might take a couple of months. Cheers.
@@ashlenamusic To play like him? Probably decades...lol. But hey, it´s one thing to master a style, it´s a different thing to aquire a technique, that will open a world of new possibilites. Am I anywhere near as good as him? Well no. Can I now play a ton of songs I wasn´t capable of paying before? Hell, yeah. And I´ll never forget the moment, when after months of trying, one morning my thumb just did the thing just like that. In the end it´s always: How much do you want it and how much of it do you want? All the best!

Romaine has his own solo record dropping very soon, before Sick Boi
The French guy is Romain Axisa. Try “Swan Song” by these guys if you enjoyed the harmonies.
Second this. It's shockingly good.

The Big Push cover of Praise You is 🔥

French, language of love! Ask Ren (The Gig Push) and TW!

If you like their harmony you'll love Praise You, a Fatboy Slim covee, or Swan song, one of their original songs.

Appreciate that. Can't wait to hearmore from him
This is one of my many favourites. 🫶
Awesome song, so love it was just a roof top session during a few wines n beers 🙏🦉👍❤️🐊
Love that! I need to find people to jam with
You made me smile for the first time today with your reaction, thank you
My pleasure 😊
The 'original' is that original tbh. It's mainly taken from a 1930s song and partially combined with an old French song. :)
Great reaction, subbed, that was mainly ren n romain singing, if you havent heard it you should listen to paint it black by the big push and hear the other dude, goran, sing, ridiculous cover
A Big Push original you have to watch is 'Precious'
Yes I’m down for an original!

Totally agree!
I love you. In the most respectful way.
🥰🥰🥰🥰
If I was there, I’d have to clear the table of dirty dishes, and I’d probably miss the whole session 😂
😂

I don’t love you anymore, my love
I will never love you again

Sometimes I’d like to die, I really wanted to believe

Sometimes I’d like to die, to never see you again
I don’t love you anymore, my love
I will never love you again
I don’t love you anymore, my love
I will never love you again
Sometimes I’d like to die, because there’s no hope
Sometimes I’d like to die, to never see you again

I don’t love you anymore, my love
I will never love you again
I don’t love you anymore, my love
I will never love you again

That’s amazing! I definitely need a boost. Being self taught only got me so far
