What’s your perspective on longevity of these units vs marquis brand etc? I’m concerned that seven years from now I’m buying this cheaper model and we have wanted to buy the full price spa from my local spa shop.
2 years in now and it's still fine. I've got a customer with a "Costco" hot tub he brought probably 8-10 years ago and overall its been a good unit. The pump has been changed twice though, this is to be expected. The tub itself will last forever, the pump is probably the only thing to go out but its a simple and sort of inexpensive replacement.
I own a Marquis, they are Great reliable hot tubs. I think there is a difference in quality but the main draw to buy from a dealer would be customer service support with a hardy warranty attached to the sale= hard to beat that combination.
So on mine, I don't have a skimmer yet but I checked in the filter and its just a black filter basket. Am I supposed to buy something that goes in there like a replacement filter (the white ones)
Since you are a pool and spa tech guy can I use saltwater not, chlorine to keep it clean? Do you keep it plugged in 24/7? Can you recommend any aftermarket LED lights to add to the tub water area? Thanks
@@BO-mb8rr for this spa, no. There are salt water specific spas but they still use chlorine. Salt water pools and spas produce their own chlorine. Yes keep it plugged in 24/7.

I’m 5’11 and fit perfectly in the lounger. In the benches the water is right at my armpit. The more people that get in the water will get a bit higher.
Hi… the largest knob on mine appears to have rusted shut as I can’t turn the dial at all. I tried taking the cap off and twisting with pliers but the plastic will break. Is there anyway to unstick this knob in order to replace it or can it be salvaged? Thanks!
Mine started to stick as well but I was able to slowly work it free. You'll probably want to get it replaced, I'm sure calling the manufacturer would be the easiest so you can get a part directly from them.
I know this has been out for a while now, just curious cause i am not sure if i missed it in the video, does this allow you to have the jets on low and still run the heating element? My wife and I are looking for a tub but all i find on these 110s is that they cant heat and jet at the same time, or some can but only if the jets are on low? We have an outdoor outlet not in use so were looking at these as an option.
There is only 1 speed on this model, you can add the aeration for a little more power. This model uses the pump to heat the water so anytime the pump is running it’s essentially heating the water. Not noticeable while you’re in the tub though. It’s takes a long time to get it to temp but will stay within a degree or so while using it.
Thanks for the vid. Is there a way to set it to different modes? Standard, Eco, etc. ? I read that in the manual but couldn't get that feature to work.
If I understood right thats how fast the jets can go? I’m trying to convince myself of not going the inflatable hot tub route because the air bubbles are not a nice massage jet but if that’s the pressure that tub produces definitely I’ll be better with an inflatable one and save 3k

Hello, you're going need need 3 chemicals to maintain this. Chlorine (my preference granular Dichlor), Soda Ash (aka PH up), and Sodium Bicarbonate (aka Alkalinity up). There are other videos online showing how to balance the chemicals.

It would not make sense to unplug it unless you're putting it away for the winter or something. Keeping it plugged it will keep the water temp at the desired temp.
Okay makes sense. In the video you did say it turns on every several hours to keep temperatures stable. For winter storage during freezing temps, do you recommend draining all the water out to prevent the water lines from bursting?@@MrHarmonizr
If you leave it plugged in you're fine, all the lines are insulated. There are videos on here of people in the north west during winter tine that have theirs outdoors.@@AmandaBuhat
Lil known trick for those that like hot water...Hold Temp up until "or 5" shows press up once more for "or 6" This is a Temp overide that allows you to set Temp at 105 or 106.
A few hundred lbs empty and then add the weight of the water. You'd have to check how much weight the deck can hold first, but yes I have customers with bigger units on wooden decks.
Thanks, I think that info is available on their website and I'm not sure. This one runs off a 15 amp circut that my small pool pump runs off as well. I'd its pulling less than 10 amps.
Problem is, the computers in these are garbage. After a few years they quit working and good luck getting a replacement since NOBODY will touch a Lifesmart spa. They will tell you to try the manufacture or get rid of it.

@@limsun3814 the comment you're reading is not true, and if the "computer" fails just call them a buy a new one. these tubs are super easy and simple to work on. 2 years in now and mine has been working fine without a hitch.

I'm thinking about getting the smaller lifesmart 4 person tub.
It's really small. Tight fit for 2 people if you want to spread out alittle. Let alone 4.
It’s a plastic screen thing on the control panel that comes off to protect it in shipping I thought the same on mine.

I live in Utah with kind of cold winters. Do you think the insulation is enough to keep it warm during that time of year?

@@TaylorMadeMoment 1/4 turn unscrew the skimmer basket and the filter should be underneath. The filter also screws in.

@ bromine is a mix of chlorine and bromine. I don’t like the way it makes the water smell.

Have you had to remove any of the jets? I have one that seems to be blocked and don’t know whether it’s easy to take one out or not
have you twisted it to make sure it's on? Certain jets shut off by twisting...BTW hold Temp up to overide to 105 or 106 if you like hot water

if the pump is running the the jets are on, this is just circulating the water and in this case also heating it.

Yes that was the speed/pressure of the jets. I'd try the inflatable route then once your committed get something more permanent like this.

I did it myself with the help of a friend. They’re designed to fit into most standard size gates.
So this tub holds set temperature and never goes down with the cover off and jets on?

This review was after one year of ownership, spa is still functioning the same today as it was in the video. I think it's a good buy for the price.
Do u have to keep it plugged in or can u plug it in like 24-48 hrs before use then unplug if not using everyday?
@@crystaltank9900 it just stays plugged in everyday whether you’re using it or not. It’s more efficient to keep it hot than get it hot every use.

Any idea about how this would work in a Pennsylvania winter? I have seen some of those wal mart blow ups work in 9 degrees here?
It would likely be fine, but you cannot unplug it and let it freeze, there are videos of people on here with these in freezing temps.

Yes everyday, twice a day I believe for 30-60 min. Also if the water temp drops it will turn on until it reaches the set temp.

I use a pump but there is a drain hose behind the equipment panel with a valve you open and the spa will drain.

I'll have to try that out, I wouldn't use it at that temp 102-103 is very comfortable for me.

These parts are super easy to replace...I owned an old Hot Springs brand spa that was plumbed by some Tiny Engineer with a Hate for the world.
