    I owned one of these. With the cover off it would not hold set temperature. And i live in So. California. 220v
    I installed rubber mounts under the pumps because it was so loud when running.
    In the night video you can here the pump on low speed. This is also due to lack of insulation.
    Electric bill averaged about 40 dollar increase per month. The interior of the tub was ok to sit on. But acrylic is much more comfortable.

    I have had this model since 2016. It's a great tub and has worked really well, even in our environment where we see -5 degrees in the winter. Our only issue has been that the on/off valve for the waterfall developed a leak about four years in. Sadly the tub in in a corner against two walls and I haven't been able to repair it yet, but it shouldn't be too difficult.

    • @jackdawson3276
      @jackdawson3276 2 роки тому +2

      Depends on were the leak is. If it's a hose or manifold in the foam, forget it. ..these tubs are made to last no more than 5 yrs.. but for the price, its worth the risk.

    • @ncruze07
      @ncruze07 Рік тому +1

      So that was my only concern about purchasing hot tubs. So in the winter, i hear it's best to just keep it running. Is that what you do? If so do you just set a temperature you want the tub to maintain during the winter say, 90 degrees and it will keep trying to maintain that temperature?

    • @bayside6207
      @bayside6207 6 місяців тому

      @@ncruze07Correct, the best course of action is to leave a hot tub at a set temperature during the winter months & the tub will maintain it's temp by cycling on & off. PS, do yourself a favor & buy a quality Brand tub,, even a used high quality name brand tub will last much longer than this one in the video.

      @@daddydizakachrisscott3870 very true. Even if you only get 5 yrs out of it, you would spend less than 10k in 15 yrs. Most mid to high end tubs are 12k to 20k now! Its crazy. And there is no way of being certain you will get 15yrs out of them. The only benefit is that the more expensive ones do tend to perform better and have more features. I only paid 13k for my HS Envoy in 2019. A new one now goes for over 17k so it wasnt too bad for me. Today, I would definetly look at a Lifesmart tub even though they now go for 4 to 5k. I got mine on order since early March. Delivery is supposed to be May 18th, but i haven't gotten a call from anyone regarding delivery yet. So I'm guessing it's going to get pushed further. Question: How is it holding up after Year and a half of use? This is going to be our first Spa, so I hope we made the right decision. We didn't want to spend much so this was one of the most economical ones we found that would fit our family of 5. Nice Video, a lot of information.. You helped me out with the Spa Box Terminology... I believe the current models( of this particular model) come new with the 3.0hp pumps. From what I read it’s 60 jets I think. Normally it’s best to have two 2.5hp pumps for that many jets to run optimal all at once. But if the engineering of the tub is set up good than a single 3hp pump should suffice. We are looking at either getting this one or the 90 jet model. I’m leaning more towards this one. Did you end up getting one? What do you think of it?

I saw the 700 version with 90 jets and two 2.5 hp pumps (5 hp total obviously) for $6000 CAD and that was already 41% off full price which yes may be inflated. But $3000 USD is only $4000 CAD so $2000 less again albeit 35 less jets and possibly less power. Again that's also 2016 dollars vs 2022 so updated price would be great to know for comparison.

      Yes I still enjoy it. I actually sat in it yesterday for 3 hours. And the day before for 2 hours. I usually try to go out every morning that it is sunny around 9 or 10 a.m. and sit in it for an hour or so. Just so I can get a little tan. Texture is great, we love it. I don't even have to clean it. As long as you keep the chemicals just right and change the water every 3 months like you are supposed to. We use it a lot though. Make sure you clean the filter often, at least once a week spray it with the hose. I bought two extras. I usually change the filter every time I change the water. And then I have the filter cleaning solution I put in a 5-gallon bucket and I let the filter soak for a couple days in that stuff, then I rinse it with a hose. I suggest everybody buy the floating tablet holder. It just makes the chemical life so much easier.

I usually clean the filter once a week with the hose. All I did was buy the test strips like you have for a swimming pool. As long as you keep the pH and the chlorine where it is supposed to be, It pretty much takes care of itself. I am 100% for the mini floating tablet holder. Before I got mine, it was a little tough to keep it going in the right direction. I had to check on it daily. Now that I have the mini tablet holder, only really need to check on it every 3 or 4 days as long as there's a chlorine tablet in there

    Hi again...Can you do a video on how you maintain your tub? And what chemicals you use? Liquid or paper water test? I'm considering a chlorine floater but not sure since some MFG say not to use those in acrylic tubs. Can't seem to find if this tub is acrylic or not. Basically...my goal is to get this to a turn key plunge situation. I don't want frilly maintenance...just basic...sanitize, shock, PH up down, and be done. Thanks again! Oh also where are you located and have you used your spa in winter? I'm in Ohio we often get hammered with snow.

    • @daddydizakachrisscott3870
      @daddydizakachrisscott3870  3 роки тому +2

      Upstate New York about 10 mi from Canada, we can get -30° at some points in the winter time. I just used the 3-inch chlorine tablets and a little hot tub floater. Like I've been saying in all my comments, I just break one up with a hammer and put little chunks in at a time. And then once in a while I add some pH up. I don't think there's enough pH increaser in the tablet. Make sure you clean the filter at least every 10 days, that will make a huge difference. Also drain it three times a year and fill it back up with fresh water. That is highly recommended. I bought an extra filter off eBay, and I swapped that out every time I drain the tub. Sometimes if you see that there is not enough chlorine in the pool I may just dump a little granule in the filter basket, the only problem with doing that is that the filter can clog up pretty quickly. I only usually use like four teaspoons. I use the paper pool stick testers. If you can't get it running right, you should probably take a sample to your local pool & spa store and let them know what your problems are. I am just an average Joe, who bought this hot tub because of the price. We do love it though. Hopefully this will help you.

      Ours was originally $3,800, but Sam's Club had the sale for $2900. I think that's the regular price you're talking about, and I don't have any problems with stains. And the texture is perfect. The only complaint I have is that the piece that goes in between the two halves on the top kept falling off. Once the velcro gets wet and junk in it it tends not to be tacky anymore. So I had to throw some 4 in screws through it to keep it up. And the little plastic thing over the temperature gauge fell off. I can't really complain, I've had it over 2 years and never shut it off. It runs every day all day. As long as you use the chlorine tabs in a little floater, you should not have a problem with water stains. I also put a bromine tab in the floater too. Been meaning to do a review, but I just don't want to jinx myself.

    I have the 110 version plug and play- how does it manage to keep hot during your cold months 40 or below? Mine definitely drops 5 degrees during use from the 104 area then takes several hrs to come back with the cover on.

    • @daddydizakachrisscott3870
      @daddydizakachrisscott3870  3 роки тому +2

      That's why I didn't get the 110 version. Mine does not drop one degree even when it's -30. I can also empty it in the middle of February and fill it up with cold water. It will be 54° with the water from the house spicket and then 5 hours later it will be 100°. Yours is probably better on electricity though, I'm not really sure how that works. Mine definitely cost more to hook up I can tell you that. I had to buy the spa box and 200 ft of wire. I also had to dig a trench all the way out to the tub from the garage.

    Thanks for this, just setting ours up today. My filter seems to be floating in its spot, is that correct? Also, do you ever run it without any heat and how long would it take to get to temp if you did?

    • @daddydizakachrisscott3870
      @daddydizakachrisscott3870  3 роки тому +1

      The filter basket kind of floats after you screw it in. I got a completely separate little baby floating filter basket to put chemicals in. And I just let it float around in the hot tub itself, that way it doesn't clog up the filter as much. If you put your chemicals in the filter basket you will constantly have to clean the filter and add chemicals daily. If you buy the little floating filter basket off of eBay for like $8 you can just smash up a 3-in chlorine tablet and put little chunks of it in there and it is good for like a week. I usually just leave my temperature at 100, no matter what the pump kicks on hourly just to circulate the water.

      They left it at the end of my driveway. I pulled it out back with the four wheeler and then slid it onto my pad myself. You might be able to talk to them about helping you if your stuff is all set for it. I still had to build everything and run the wire before I even had the spa. So I just put it in the garage for a couple weeks and then moved it.

      I know that they turn on every hour to circulate the water. If it's up to temperature, then it wouldn't have to heat it. It is just for circulating, so it doesn't get stagnant.

      I used the little all-in-one tablets and put them in the strainer basket. And I just keep my eye on the pH level. Usually you have to add pH. Every like three days I'll have to put in about eight tablespoons of pH balance, and it's good to go. I used to use the granulated chlorine shock, but it was a lot of work. As long as there's a little chunk of tablet in there you should be good to go

    • @daddydizakachrisscott3870
      @daddydizakachrisscott3870  4 роки тому

      I use mine daily, so I usually check to make sure there is a little chunk of tablet in there every three days at least. I checked the pH at least twice a week. Another thing you want to do is pull the filter out and spray it with a hose, I found that that helps keep it really clean. The more you do that the better, I tried to do it at least every 10 days or so.

    • @daddydizakachrisscott3870
      @daddydizakachrisscott3870  3 роки тому

      Yes it came with a filter, pretty much all you need is to buy a little hot tub floating filter and break up a 3-inch chlorine tablet with a hammer and put little pieces of that in the floater. Once in a while I will add a little granule shock into the hot tub filter basket. If you notice it getting really bubbly when you use the jets you will need to add some pH increaser. You should probably get some test strips also just to keep it where you need it. You can also talk to your local pool store, they will most likely have information on hot tubs too. I like to clean my filter with the hose at least once every two weeks.

      @@r.bishop1127 I'm not sure if one or two degrees will make that big of a difference in the electric. The reason the electric goes up is because the spa has an automatic filter setting. It runs every hour for like a minute or two, just to circulate the water. I'm pretty sure that is a reason that the electric bill goes up. And it has to maintain a certain temperature. I can't imagine one extra degree would make that much of a difference.
