    You have no idea how much this helped my mom. We like to play Villainous a lot (it’s a game we can get really competitive in) and King Candy is quite possibly her favorite Disney villain, but she was having a lot of trouble with how more complicated he was given his new board. Thank you so much and god bless!

    I’m super excited to finally play him , it’s so close to my birthday. Next Saturday is coming up so fast, it will be here before I know it. I so excited to finally try him out. Thanks so much for all the helpful tips, he definitely seems so interesting and a different way to play a evil villain.

    My poor poor wife: last night we did our 1st battle with Mom Gothel (Tangled) and I was KC. She pulled the VVS card and thought it was a MUST play ( a la Peter Pan) so she played her rather than the other (TBF I thought it was a must play too). Started the Big Race decently early. Into TBR 16:11 she pulled this one and the card at top of my pile was "can't be allowed to race" which got ger 1 away from finish. KC was 3 away so I won.
    I kept telling her to NOT go one offensive bc what VVS does FOR KC but she still did. At least now we know discard her and its totally fine to attack KC, even moreso now

      @@theabsentfriend4002 Honestly I remind her we are playing to learn these characters so we can clean house against other couples we invite over! 😂
      we bought the 6 villain box to start and immediately loved it and been adding one since. Bigger and Badder arrives Monday and so we only dont have Evil Comes Prepared. We've now played all from the ones we have except Gaston and Pete. We started 1-1 (I won with Hook, she won w Queen of Hearts) but since then I have won each time.
      She plays too defensively so Ive encouraged her to do fate actions much more frequently but some Villains (appear) OP, like Shere Khan and Horned King.
      Glad I found your channel as you interpret these each so well. I 100% am honest with her on tactics bc I would rather win or lose on a totally fair/competitive game than run up the score, ESPECIALLY with my wife!
      sorry to go on but this game-type setp is so up my alley that I want her to enjoy it as I do. When we play Catan or Raccoon Tycoon she wins a LOT so she has it in her. I think helping her to know what hurts her opponent and to understand the path to achieve her characters victory will really help her and so far your breakdowns really help!
      Great production quality too, underrated

    Played him last night. Went in blind for the fun of a new villain to play, and was searching frantically for a way to bring out Vanellope. I never drew the medal before my opponents won, but had a great time slowing down around the fate actions to really annoy my family. Looking forward to playing him again!

    • @SpookGod
      @SpookGod 6 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, I feel like he's too limited on his options to get his win condition started; he literally only has one card in his deck to do it. There's also no reason for your opponents to ever play Venelope if she's drawn from his fate deck. It's one of those instances where it should specify that if she's drawn, she has to be played.

    • @theabsentfriend4002
      @theabsentfriend4002  6 місяців тому +2

      @@SpookGod Yeah, you gotta cycle that deck to get that medal quick. Several other villains are the same way. Captain Hook you can’t win with him until you play Neverland Map. Jafar can’t win without the magic lamp, etc etc

    • @SpookGod
      @SpookGod 6 місяців тому +1

      @theabsentfriend4002 Definitely, I'm not crazy about characters who have a win condition that difficult to obtain. Horned King has multiple avenues to get the Black Cauldron, Scar has multiple options to get heroes out of his Fate deck; its a better design philosophy than "lol there's 1 card in your entire deck you *must* have, good luck, nerd."

    Excellent review, as always. Looking forward to your solo play (hopefully soon).
    I guess Frozen Prince Han's reveal was probably the unexpected twist;
    Toy story 2 had two - Stinky Pet being the villain and Zurg turning out to be actually nice guy after all (and there was Lightyear' take on who Zurg actually was but the less said about that movie the better).
    But I think King Candy being the unexpected villain was probably the best twist reveal that Disney/Pixar has done so far.

    I would say Stinky Pete from Toy Story 2 was quite a shocker, he initially seemed like such a sweet old man so kid me was shocked when I saw him heel turn to a grouch who hates kids, yet it was still well telegraphed and motivated looking back. I really hope he gets added to villainous in the future.
