I have had this TV for 30 days now and your settings have made a vast improvement in picture quality. Looks good and I'm finally happy with the overall picture quality. I'm using arc out of a Vizio Atmos soundbar to the earc input on the TV. When using this with earc on, the Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos badges appear on screen but no green light on the soundbar that identifies an Atmos signal. If I switch off earc and use the arc setting turned on, the Atmos on screen badge disappears but the green light on the soundbar lights up. Picture looks incredibly good, but the green light not lighting when using earc seems like a miss somewhere. Thanks for the settings for picture you put up.
@@pein3480 I just have a question. Does the picture quality on HDR10+ seem a bit washed out to you on this tv? I watch the show 'Jack Ryan' on amazon prime and i dont know why but it always seems a bit off when compared to my Sony X900H tv.
Hey question.. because I’am dumb ass f### when it comes to my tv..if my tv is 4k is there something special I need to set my tv on to watch 4k content or it automatically comes through my cable box for 4k content??
I am considering this as an upgrade for the Hisense 4K I have now, but after my experience with that one, I’m leery of both Hisense and Android TV. At least half of the apps like Disney+, Paramount+ and HBO Max are borderline unusable.
I have my u8g paired with a nvidia shield pro 2019. The apps running directly off of the tv is going to act funny at some point. Some may be better than others it's best to get a dedicated streaming device in my opinion.
@@pein3480 I was thinking that myself. I started out with getting a cheap Roku with HDR, then I ended up getting a Google TV box from Verizon that was actually faster then the TV was, except it didn't have Dolby Vision. I've had my eye on the Shield Pro on and off for a while now; I might just move on it.
Hey man thanks for posting this video, very helpful. Just bought a Hisense U8H a few weeks ago. My first 4k tv that I'm new too, not sure what I'm doing. I was wondering if you could help me out. I also have a Nvidia Shield I've connected to the TV that I'm using. When I want to watch a 4k video on UA-cam with HDR or Dolby Vision it only plays it in 4k no HDR or Dolby Vision. I'm able to watch 4k movies on Vudu, Google and MoviesAnywhere in HDR and Dolby Vision. Don't know what to do. If you have suggestions I'm all ears, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Thank you for watching, the reason you're not seeing HDR through the nvidia shield on youtube is because the shield currently doesn't support hdr playback on it's device on any youtube application. It's one of the cons of the device in my personal opinion.
I have this TV with and Xbox series s and just bought the yamaha tsr-700. I have the earc connected to the TV. my Xbox is connected to the receiver, for some reason it won't let me play dts x. It keeps saying the TV doesn't support it. I thought having the Xbox connected straight to the receiver would be no problem. What can I change or do to have my dts x available?
I'm not familiar with the tsr-700 but on the hisense u8g side changing the sound settings to passthrough will be the best route in this scenario. As far as your receiver side of things you will have to look through your manual. And with the xbox series s they also have sound and video options to look through. I don't own a xbox so just research anything you don't understand regarding your setup.
Hi mate just got this tv. Just have some issue, I'm watching Netflix and sometimes i would see like a split second slow motion on what I'm watching? Did i got a bad tv or it can be fix with proper settings?
Try the motion enhancement settings personally the motion was a bit odd when I first got the tv as well. It's going to depend on content but my eyes are already used to it by now.
Man. The settings are awesome. How about for hdr 10+? I have the nvidea shield tv 2019 also but keep only the app on the tv for the hdr 10+ format. Any help would be awesome. Thanks man. Also can my u8g record live tv with a USB thumb drive?
Anything HDR just use my settings that you see exactly here and the shield is my go to as well I use that with this tv. I never recorded live tv but I wouldn't do it through the U8G instead the shield.
Thanks for your video. I have had bad pixeling in dark scenes.(in under bluray content) I have tried to mimic your settings. I did the updates but noticed the picture/text optimization was not on any menu so I reached out to Hisense and they sent it in a e-mail and I am going to thumb drive it and install. I did the T-Con builder update and hooked up a Nividea Pro Sheild. Even with the Sheild I had some bad pixeling in darker horror scene which is hard to watch. In higher resolution movies like The Force Awakens I oddly got best quality with vivid. The blacks were inky and colors popped. I do not know if I have a bad panel or the many options are the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I suggest you watch my new videos on settings for the Hisense u8g it's going to be better settings and I use the shield pro 2019 whats important is your bitrate the higher quality file the less bad pixels you will have in dark scenes.
Black levels are similar to oled it has those inky blacks. The person you saw probably did not look up any good settings for the tv. These settings I have currently are rock solid picture quality and blacks are amazing.

He's correct it is about preference I keep my local dimming on low I keep the sensor on for the backlight cut the smoothness all the way down I cut it off I don't like forcing scenes to be what they're not let the processor take over but I do take his advice about 60 colors
Any suggestions for HDR10+ videos? I've been watching the new season of The Expanse and it's so damn juttery and has serious ghosting effect in a lot of scenes.
Look up a guy named Quantum tv I have my hisense u8g 65inch now professionally calibrated and I don't have many jutter issues. My suggestion is check out his videos on the u8g and pay for the membership where you get exclusive access to his settings and other perks.
