Two quick questions. I just got the TV, would like to mess with calibration settings. I haven't connected my sheild, used Netlfix and I see in the settings you're showing it says HDR in the menu options, but I didn't see hdr playing HDR or Dolby vision content using the TV Netlfix app. Am I doing something wrong or is that how it should be for native apps and I'd see HDR if I used the shield and the apps on there? Second question is when viewings sdr/HDR/Dolby vision context, do the settings for each default to what I chose depending on the format playing, or do I have to change them each time? I'm assuming they default cause constantly changing them doesn't seem right. Thanks
I got my 55UH8 yesterday from Best Buy, everything went smoothly, except, one of the legs didn't have countersunk holes for the screws. It didn't matter to me since the TV was going to be wall mounted. Interested if anyone else had the same problem? I wrote to Hisense Customer Service and asked for a new leg in case I ever want to sell this years from now. (every time I buy a new TV I help defray the cost by selling my older TV, in this case I'll be putting up for sale my TCL 55P605, locally. At the very least they need to add descriptions for each setting. Only a few have them. Seems rather random too. I wasn't as impressed with the built-in speaker system as others have been. NOTICE: I finally needed to return the Hisense U8H. The severe problems with "Stuttering" and "Posterization" and "Macroblocking" and "Lipsyncing" were NOT solved with the recent Firmware Updates. It is SO DISAPPOINTING Hisense would release a product with so many glitches and flaws. If Hisense had made the product just a little better and taken a bit longer to release it, I gladly would have paid a couple hundred dollars more to avoid those problems.
Would have given big thumbs up but your monologue was frequently out-of-sync with what you were showing and clicking on. I had to stop the video multiple times just to catch what you were talking about. In general, slow down, pause for each setting you are talking about, overall that would save viewers time because then they would not have to constantly stop, rewind, play again, rewind, play again.

1. When you say 16 clicks, do you mean 16 clicks up from the darkest setting?
2. Is the 16 clicks correct? I was also watching Vincent's tutorial video on these PS5 settings and he was getting 900nits at click 15 and 1100 nits at click 16. Rtings measured the Game Mode 100% window luminance at 800~. With my limited knowledge, I'm assuming that MaxFFTML is comparable to a 100% window.
3. He also mentioned that you should actually set it right when the gray sun disappears which would make it like, 20-22 clicks on my U8H which doesn't seems at odds with the previous recommendation...
Well any guidance anyone can give would be helpful and thanks in advance...Also, I abhor the PS5s HDR Adjust menu, it is terrible compared to the XBOX's lmao
I’m in the same trouble than you, which level of nits are you using right now?
I think I left it at 20-22 for now
@@MultiZone3 what are your settings at for when you do the ps5 calibration? With my HDR calibration, the sun disappears at either 13 or 14 clicks. So either something is wrong with my unit, or you have it tweaked in a specific way. I have mine set to HDR game with brightness, contrast, etc. all at default (50).
Hi , I bought this TV, struggling with settings, how to differentiate sdr and HDR?
When I click the menu button, menu is not opening, after changing the input mode to HDMI the press menu it works... Does that mean HDR works only when you connect HDMI cable to other devices? How to apply HDR settings for Netflix or other streaming services...I did set 2 different settings for HDMI and basic but when I check again all values are same, can anyone help please.
Local Dimming on low w/ backlight to 10!? lmao, might as well set it to 0 and read a book
U8HQ and other non-US versions of the U8H are a very different and downgraded beast.
Please note when purchasing.
lucky you the US version is always the best. the U8H that we have in Australia is utterly terrible in every way. shitty IPS panels with terrible blacks. crappy proprietary VIDDA OS instead of Google TV. lower peak brightness and likely much worse local dimming. and they have been doing this for a few years if not longer. we get dumped all the garbage haha...
This TV is such a turd and this is yet another example of why you can never trust online reviews
@@tac6044 well, what's better for the price?
What did u get
Would have given big thumbs up but your monologue was frequently out-of-sync with what you were showing and clicking on. I had to stop the video multiple times just to catch what you were talking about. In general, slow down, pause for each setting you are talking about, overall that would save viewers time because then they would not have to constantly stop, rewind, play again, rewind, play again.
Worst video to follow for a newby. How about slowing down with a step by step guide for ultimate all round set up
😮so rude . What demanding guy . Lol if a TV review can bring this type of mannor . What can we imagine at home . Just be nice to him if ask diff type of review . Take or leave . No need to be so mean . U don’t want old grown $ass man/women being crude to yr kids , then don’t be part of game .
Why make an informative video when we cannot follow it?
I'd take the Hisense over any Sony LCD anyday everyday.
I wouldn't, the X90K has the XR processor and Reality Creation which is gonna be superior at this Budget level price class
@@ManuelMedellin. sorry dude not sold, seen the X90K and was very disappointed with the backlight, the Hisense blooming control is light years ahead of Sony's.
Just remember that for now at least the problem with budget TV ,is they tend to attract cust with view area like hight brightness, more dimming zones, wider color gamut, but they will sacrifice other important area like processing, motion, local dimming algorithm, quality control, durability, after sales and at the end they end up worse ..it's unavoidable cause they need to balance cost, they need margin profit to grow..maybe in the future when they have enough profit margin they will be able to show good overall balance quality product to face the big brand , but for now I'll go with the X90K
@@ManuelMedellin. Sony has a better processor but the screen sucks. This TV is going to be way better at watching Movies and TV shows.
@@supreme1572 I'd wait for Classy's judgement, I wouldn't be too sure yet that the U8H goes out Winner. Looking forward to his review and comparison with Sony.
It would really help if you had gone slower. Going so fast is meaningless….
Worst tv for gaming it cuts resolution and or picture quality in order to get 4k 120hz.
Noone is doing computer specs! This tv is a down grade for computer owners! Only 8bit on computer. No 120hz. 4k on your computer. The u8g has 120HZ. 10 bit for computer. So, don't buy it for your gaming rig!!!!!@
Wrong! Ive been gaming with my laptop rtx3060 on this TV at 12bit RGB. Yes this TV supports 12bit color depth at RGB and it makes a noticeable difference in clarity. Same with xboxsx at 12bit color depth. Its beautiful!😁 need help with calibration?
@@abuelb No it doesn't! It's only 8bit +FRC not a true 10bit and the 4120hz is gimped at half resolution.
@@NexGenTek I understand 4k 120hz is still a mess. I'm saying 4k 60hz 12bit works with noticeable diffrence in clarity. The TV will show the signal information under menu>help>signal information. Tested it and verified it. 12bit color depth has nothing to do with refresh rates.
@@abuelb The problem is it's not processing 12bit not even 10bit. It's still just 8bit. Nothing is helping this tv with a PC at all.
@@NexGenTek test the nvidia gpu with 10bit vs 12bit RGB color depth youll see the difference. The TV also displays the signal either 10bit or 12bit. Theres a clarity/sharpness difference. Only thing is it doesnt work with HDR enabled. Its 10bit with HDR
i cant even follow. jumping around too fast. thanks but this guide sucks
This is outdated
You are going to fast to see what you are doing. I’ll go somewhere else. Dellie
It's UA-cam. You can literally pause and rewind the video. Male Karen , bye 👋🏻
Dam i had np with it.. u must be slower
Slow down the playback speed
If only you could rewind and pause the video
Just bought this tv. It's sick 😷🤧🤒🥵🦠🤢 🤮 illest tv ever sickening price point for the performance you get.
How do I turns off Dolby vision with the internal apps?
