When making a cape for the Dark Knight Batman, you must have wires in it, because even more than other Batman incarnations he's known for gliding with his cape. Its one of the most iconic things he does. So the fact that you can't display it that way is absurd, given the cost of this figure. Thats the sole reason why I neer got on board with it.
I never really understood why a company that has been producing so much Batman cannot get the cape correct to this day it makes no sense because it's terrible for the customer the anytime they see a Batman that they like they have to spend extra money combined with the deluxe amount of their pain just to get a custom cake
Of course it is worth the upgraderade. Dx12 and armory headsculpts are completely off. This is tje only one that is 100% movie accurate. The likeness is spot on.
At 1602. Liking your side by side comparison. The viewer can "see" what you see and form their own perspective on what is actually esthetically pleasing & acceptable to them. Well done collector!🤓
I just got my DX19 and already have the DX12/Armory. I too am struggling to decide what to do between these two figures and which will be my definitive Batman of this suit. The cape with this one doesn't bother me, it has more of a drape and doesn't flare out. The Bruce Wayne head is good and does look young, however to me, when installed into the body, it looks a bit low. Maybe thats because I'm used to the same situation with the DX12 Bruce Wayne head on it's body to be a bit higher. The first thing that bothers me, is that there's no gripping hand to hold the EMP rifle or sticky bomb gun for a snug fit and him to pose him holding it properly. The gripping hands only seem to work well with holding either the grapnel gun or the handles of the batpod. The second issue I have is that the mouth plates are limited with gestures. All but one are of the mouth open and the closed lips one is relaxed. I would have wanted it to include the grunting mouth gesture that the DX12 came with. This also doesn't include a bare magnetic belt for the disassembled sticky bomb gun (which again, the DX12 came with), nor a backpack which only the DX02 came with. Fortunatley after selling my DX02, I got a custom backpack which is pretty much the same mold and able to fit my DX12. It doesn't clip in under the back armor for a snug fit on the DX19 however. The reason I got this is that I want it to be in scale with the inarts Joker (Justins Collection varifies this in his comparison) and the upcoming Bane 2.0 and this body has much more physique than the DX12. If I don't sell my DX12, I could use parts from it for the DX19 and just sell the body, heads and cape.
Congrats on getting yours soon and thanks for watching! I may sell the DX12 because I just picked up the Bruce Wayne figure loose from the armory pack I think. I’ll see how the new sculpt looks on it before selling!
the new Bruce head sculpt its the same of the 1/4 scale batman but it does not have the details or the paint job in fact the older DX12 had better painjob to me
Ah man, thanks for this review. I have the DX12 with armory head and custom velvet cape, like you, so the comparison was much appreciated. I do think the selling point on getting this new Bats is better proportions and the new faceplates, but yeah, that's pretty much it. It is nice for the people that missed out on the previous releases. Anyway, thanks for the great review!
I'm surprised that no review seems to address the fact that this new head sculpt seems like it's from The Dark Knight rather than The Dark Knight rises. As far as likeness to TDKR goes, the DX12 wins the day in terms of his age.
Very nice review! On the DX19, does the gap between the bicep piece and the gauntlet bother you at all? It seems too wide. In the movie the bicep piece was slightly lower and the gauntlet was slightly longer. Wondering if there is a way to fix it.
HT should have put a sling around his foot instead of gluing the pants to add mobility with the legs and the backpack should have been included - well that's what we get from a "Marvel Legends" high-end toy company 😷.....great review
After watching this review I have to agree this new version is underwhelming. A recycled base, lackluster cape, and minimal accessories doesn’t warrant the purchase for the collector who owns the armory or dx12. The highlight, in my opinion is the updated Bale head but it seems one would have to pay $300 for just that head or head to the aftermarket. Overall, my opinions are mixed and I believe HTs should’ve put some thought and effort into this updated version of Batman.
I totally agree! However if you have the DX12 with stock cape I think this is still worth getting if you are a big Batman fan. That DX12 cowl head just really bothered me lol. Armory still looks great!
Furthermore, you are thinking as a consumer, not has a company competing in a Niche market with overhead costs you cannot fathom. In addition, they operate at great risk in challenged environment of pandemic & war (that has its implications far beyond its current geographic space). Therefore, the company is obligated to provide the best product, but in a balanced way to ensure quality & profitability. So your complaints about what you see as a reused insignificant diorama figure, that company sought a way to repurpose a product (that saves them cost that doesn't have to be transferred to the customer) that was in stock but could be altered, as opposed to starting from scratch, that fits the new vision of a known commodity. Think outside of your own box friend, their logic is sound from a maker/ owner point of view! Your the consumer. And you made the purchase! Drive on please.
Ha! At 11 minutes and 25 seconds you just recognized the biggest draw to hot toys! Those head sculpts! It is, in my opinion as a long time customer of figure Collectables in general (that is over 45 years mind you😉) what makes their product actual impressionistic masterpieces of MINIMALISM! That, along with clothing and relevant accessories to the particular IP is their Hook 🪝. Forget about dreamy figure stands friend! In fact, If I were them, I would cut out figure stands altogether! There is already a small but effective market of independent creators that can handle pickiest consumers about that small aspect of the product. It would be even less expensive for the overall cost! But, Hot Toys does it anyway- and folks still complain 😑 They are more compassionate than me 😂😅
New head sculpt is AMAZING.
No WORDS.
Agreed! Picked up a loose Bruce Wayne figure so I can display it lol
I used a BD001 body and a poptoys x33 suit to make a custom Bruce Wayne figure. I couldn’t let that beautiful headsculpt go to waste
Incredible 22.58 is why I picked up! Can't wait for the Tumbler.

🤣 lol and they aren’t hard to make!
Great figure but i can't insert the batteries in the sonar head.
Bummer! I never waste my time trying with those things lol

Thanks for watching and sharing!
Killer review Graham!! You went above and beyond and definitely got me off the fence about this figure. Love that headsculpt and great review.
Thanks Will! Much appreciated!
Thorough review! I knew it would be! The Dark Knight Batman…say no more
Can’t wait to see what you think of yours!
Love the review. Keep the DX12. Display options are always a plus! Just go my notification from Sideshow too. Looking forward to it!
Congrats on getting yours soon and thanks for watching!

They're not the same head sculpt, the DX19 head sculpt was done by another artist.
The Bruce Wayne DX19 head looks big attached to the DX12 body
Yeah it is slightly too big since the old body is a little smaller than the DX19.
Great review! Where did you get your display cases?
They are Moducases. Check out my playlist to learn more about them!

Thanks so much for watching and for the feedback!
can we apply the bale sculpt of dx12 on the body of dx19 ?
I’m 99% sure the neck connects differently. I had to mod my dx19 portrait to fit on the armory Bruce Wayne body.
Great channel and love your room and videos so thank you for the content. Also, what rotating stand do you use? I need to purchase one.
Hey thanks for watching! I think it’s around 12” diameter and it is on Amazon. I’ll have to go back and look
Great review. I’m 110% keeping my DX12 to display the new Bale headsculpt, and the DX19 will be with the cowl and probably the Jaxon Xu cape.
Cheers
Thanks for watching! I picked up a loose Bruce Wayne from the armory pack. If that looks good with the new portrait I'm selling the DX12.

Thanks for the kind words and for watching. The gap doesn’t bother me but I could see how some of the minor details could bother others.
Great video buddy!!
Appreciate it my friend! Thanks for watching😊

Great Review mate, thanks for the insight :)
Thanks for watching my friend. I appreciate the support!

Great review my friend.
Thank You Sir! Appreciate it 😀
Nice review. Could you give us the link where you got the custom cape plz. Tnx
Unreal Customs on Facebook. You can shoot him a message with what you are looking for.
Great video, man!
Appreciate it man! Thanks for watching😊
I think you should keep it the DX12 body and use it with the 19’s HEAD💯 you just gave me that same idea soon as mines get here ima do the same🤣👍🏽
I picked up a cheap Bruce Wayne loose figure from the armory pack. If that looks good I may still sell the DX12
