Im brand nrw. Just 6 weeks in and 70 years old. So much to learn🎉
. Appreciate all the tips. I hold pencil in death grip. Also give up to soon. But will keep trying. 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Best leaf tutorial I've ever seen! A+++! ❤ Thank you so much for posting this!
I love your desk!! Everything looks LOVED!! NO shame!!
My desk looks just like that! Except there’s more eraser lint.😂 Its refreshing to see someone else who almost aggressively lays down color as part of the process. Chris Cheng is wonderful, though I find myself intimidated by her. Your last video helped me relax and I finished three pictures in a week. Oh, and in case you haven’t heard this today: you’re wonderful and very much appreciated.❤️
What do you think we are, desk police? My desk is the same when I work on something and I love being surrounded by lovely coloured pencils. The feeling of achievement when I finish a page and I put all those pencils back in order in their place! You’re awesome, keep going.
LOL... The pencil police just came to mind. Thanks for the giggle.
@@ColorMyWorld haha my pencils ✏ ♥ I try to keep in pencil boxes lol 😆 or the tins they came in but I make a mess all over my bed 🛌 😅
Lori, I loved this demonstration! And I appreciate your reminder to see leaves as a creative challenge instead of a boring chore. I think we can pick up other people's negative attitudes about the various challenges we face in tackling a page. And I've heard a many people lament doing leaves and I don't want to view it that way. Oh, and thanks for the light and shadow tips on inside and outside curves and stems! Great job! Lisa
I didn’t know people don’t enjoy doing leaves.
Awesome tips! I'm in love with the turquoise/green leaf with the veins! I can't wait to try out what I've learned today! Thank you for sharing!
Did you end up trying it?
You do pretty work on your pages... I am only 4 years into this beautiful craft...
Hi Lori, I have been coloring my leaves this way since I can remember, but I don’t remember who showed me this way, could it have been you, do you remember ever doing a tutorial on leaves, this way? Btw, I think your desk looks just fine, you don’t want to risk blocking your flow of creativity by organizing your pencils, I too have to have all the pencils I need in front of me, and I know where each pencil I need is, as I’m sure you do too, and whoever is reading this understands too. Another great tutorial, thank you Lori. 🤗💕
Stunning tips
Love how you explain things! I want to do an internship with you for a couple weeks. I have so many questions. Trying to teach myself at my age has been difficult. I am making so many mistakes but still love it so far.
Yeaaaaa i did it, not on my picture in the book, I went out in garden got a leaf drew it. Colored it this way you showed, its great. Think you So much. Xx
I’m a complete newbie at adult coloring and your videos are what started it all! This may be a dumb question, but what is the propose of the cool gray before the posca marker? It would be great another style of leaves tutorial!
I am so glad yu showed us this with leaves as I get stuck so often hugs xoxo
Very beautifully done!
I love coloring leaves, but I am always looking to make them better. This is a great tutorial. Thanks for showing the state of your desk when working on a project, now I don't feel so bad.
This was great thank you.I will be trying it out on my leaves.
You are so good with leaves. I just learning and I watch you all the time.
Great tips, Lori. When all of the leaves on a page look the same, it's boring, and that's why I didn't really enjoy coloring them. Those leaves don't just sit on the page. Now they pop. Using different combinations of colors is a great idea. Thanks for showing us how to make them look so much better. BTW I love your special effects, especially when your hand first appeared on the screen. It's never boring when you color! Keep doing what you're doing. I hope your sweetie is doing better and you too. Big hugs!!
Thank you so much for this leaf tutorial. I love greenery and since I am just starting my coloring journey, you are a fantastic find in this medium. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Loved this so much Lori. Can’t wait to try this. Thank you for sharing this.
I've had a rough day.. Watching you has chilled me..I Love to learn what you teach..love hugs to you and yours..🎨🖌🖍🙏🤟
This really helped me. Thanks so much ...
Thank you for making daily videos
They really cheer me up and keep me company
Great tutorial thanks, as are all your videos. I'm bingeing on them at the moment, trying to get through them all, but learning so much. You have a great way of teaching, very clear and easy to understand.
Your tips and tricks are a gold mine! I had been delaying getting a Posca Pen until now! You are just bound and determined to make an artist out of me, aren't you? LOL
LOL...."my desk, my shame.". You are just so naturally funny and make me chuckle.
Lori, I just found your UA-cam. Thank you for explaining so friendly to us. I have had 3 nerve surgeries on my right hand, wrist and inner arm. Surgeon told me, I may never regain feeling, but I am determined to take up art again. Thank you.
Game changing episode! The Posca pen trick is genius. Beautifully creative shading.
I'm a Master Gardener w/over 400 hosta's. I Love Leaves! Thanks for sharing your talent.
Wow, I am a Master Garden Killer. I am wanted in 4 states because all I have to do is drive by a pretty garden and I can turn it black. :)
Oh my goodness. I enjoy your videos so much. Sometimes when you're talking it's like you're reading my mind! You have a true understanding of the dilemmas that colorists go through! Thank you for doing such a wonderful job with your instructions!
You Are Amazing
Extremely Talented Lady
Wow Beautiful
I love your videos! I've learned so much from you and my coloring has improved and so has my drawing. By the way, I ADORE leaves and love to color them.
Thank you! That's the best thing anyone said to me today!
Yea leaves! Want more! Wonderful video as usual! Thanks so much Lori! ❤
I love this. You made me laugh on a really miserable crappy day. The way you showed us your desk and said "Oh my God! I can't believe I'm going to do this!" and then panned across from your amazingly gorgeous coloured page to the side with all the pencils - well guess what? That's what we all do - yes, you are NORMAL. ❤️😪👍 And, do you know what, I love you for it. Ha ha ha, love it. OMG, you did not see that! was another cracking one. 😁😁
This was a wonderful lesson, on how to create leaf color. Tx
Enjoyed this very informative video!!
That is a terrific and I really enjoyed all the leaves that you did and I have leaves around Shira con out of my Disney villains
The only thing different about your desk than mine is mine has a mug of coffee and a lamp and a phone. There is something comforting about having stuff you need nearby. Thank you for sharing another wonderful video.
I am loving all your teaching videos like this one! You are so amazing!
Exactly what I needed -a different approach to leaves 🍁 .This is the first time I have been the first viewer. Thank you for sharing your beautiful pictures and especially your talents.
Love the technique and colors to the leaves. ❣️
You’re the first colourist I’ve subscribed to (I know you do many other kinds of art as well), even though there are so many amazing ones out there. I find the combination of your incredibly interesting and informative tutorials alongside your overall style of colouring to be extremely inspiring. I’m 34, dealing with multiple chronic illnesses, and I’m just getting into my colouring journey. My very first little project is colouring some strawberries in a Hanna Karlzon book (Seasons) and I was trying to figure out how to get the veins in the leaves. I’ve already been watching you but finding this video felt like kismet! I’m so excited to try this out and thanks again for your incredible channel and all the work you put into it. It’s so appreciated.
Meghan ❤️
Thank you
Your comment was so sweet. We deal with chronic illness in our house as well and coloring definitely helps cope.
@@colorwithkristi I’m sorry you also deal with that and I wish you and your loved ones as many good days as possible! I wrote my original comment 4 months ago and I’ve thoroughly fallen in love with colouring since then. It is a new passion and I’m so glad I found it! I’m also so happy that you have found it too. Take care. ❤❤❤
Wow. A great-way to teaching. You speak so clearly that anyone can understand. English is not my mother tung, but I want to learn coloring, which I started recently. Thank you very much👌🙏
I could listen to you talk alllll day, your technique is also fab
Oooooh thank you, thank you, I will never have boring leaves in pictures, ever again..
Leaves have been a bane I've tolerated. Your work has given me something to bounce off from. Thanks so much.
That was very interesting. I will have to look up that special pen you used. Maybe my Michaels has heard of that.
Terrific ideas for leaves, thank you! Love your tutorials!! Thank you for making them!
Loved this one! Flowers and leaves have always been my favorite subjects and where I do my best coloring. But....lately been feeling like I was sort of stagnating when it came to the leaves and....have been wondering for a while now how to make the veins "pop". So thank you!
A big help. Doing some leaves now & going to try this! Love your videos
THANK YOU. This is wonderful 💚💚🖤💚💚🖤

The tips in the last 2 minutes are going to change my coloring. Thx.
Awesome
Brilliant! Since I'm colouring a picture in Enchanted Forest right now, your timing is perfect. Definitely going to try this.
I love this technique !
Leaves become a chore but I am going to take a leaf ( sorry the pun) out of your book and hopefully start to create more interest in each one I colour. Wish me luck! Thanks again Lori
Love the desk
Thanks so much for this video. I’m weird. I love to color leaves. I love your using the posca for the veins. I never thought of that.
I love to color leaves! Leaves are all kinds of shades and shapes and sizes. 👍💖 Coloring leaves is very soothing to me. What is that tool you used to lay down the whote layer on the veins? Pasca? What kind of pencil sharpener are you using? Thank you for doing this, love! Enjoy your weekend.
The pain .... my eyes.... I can’t unsee that.... lol 😂 kidding thanks for the great video. 💕
Thank you I so needed this tutorial since I am coloring in Johanna Basford 's magical jungle . My leaves all come out the same , not anymore thanks again and I hope you have a happy thanksgiving
This is well-timed - I was just about to start a page of leaves. :)
I knew that. I am psyco.. um.. I mean psysic.
Beautiful Lori! Would you please zoom up the camera while you drawing? Just to see better. You are wonderful
Thank you for another great lesson ❤️
You should see my desk... It's all about the work you do...
Lorie 🥰🤗 you Rock thank you for sharing !! That is how I apply acrylic paint to a biscuit ( ceramics ) to highlight the shadows❣️💖 I wish I could show you a picture
Very nice to watch, my first video of yours, I think I will be watching alot and also getting the Posca markers...hello amazon lol....thank you so much for sharing what I tend to avoid, leaves. Your leaves really do pop.
I love u, So funny and informative! Thank u😘
Thanks heaps for this. I love leaves but when I see a page full I wonder how on earth am I going to make them interesting and different. I do add veins and different colours but they all end up looking much the same. Your method is brilliant so I am going back to my leaf pages and working on them again. The book you are working on has beautifully formed leaves but a lot of books have such a boring shape. I love the colours you have used. I will save this video and make leaves interesting again. Thank you
Thanks for the help! I am having a terrible time with my leaves.
I was so excited to try your techniques but I got lost in the first few minutes when you traced the veins with a "pasta". I can't tell if it is a marker, colored pencil, or another type of tool. Btw, thanks for your videos. You're awesome! Remember though, a messy desk is a sign of a genius mind, so don't be ashamed of yours!
Posca. It's a white acrylic paint pen. There should be a link in the description for everything she uses or mentions. I had a look and there's no information at all, maybe because this is an older video? Her new ones have much more detailed descriptions in the information box. Always worth looking around a channel if you're not sure, they tend to use the same materials throughout.
Thank you so much. Great Video.
Lori your leaves are just gorgeous love it thank you I’ll try it out xxx Zdena
You were Oh so right about the Pitt Pens, by the way! Tried to follow these cool tricks following your "menu" and trust me, the Pitt Pens failed miserably. It looks like the old white out fluid we used to use in typewriters 30 years ago! Just awful! Can't wait until Friday when my set of 3 Posca pens arrive! Have a great Thanksgiving, Lori!
Thank you for the videos.
Oh yhai needed this ty yhaaay
I'm just wondering if the Posca will chip off as easily with harder pencils; there is only one way to find out! I watched this and your next video out of sequence, so I was watching you posca-ing up the veins of a blackberry leaf wondering what the heck you were doing! All is clear now. Thanks Lori. By the way, my desk is way worse than yours!
All acrylic paint pens will chip off wax. You have to seal it on with a seal finishing spray at the very end. In the mean time you can use your pencil point to carve it into shape. I do that all the time. You can color over it too.
@@ColorMyWorld Well, I finally got around to trying out this tutorial, a couple of ivy leaves on a green man, and yes indeed the Posca does come off and I'm left with an interesting varigated ivy. Thanks again.
great tutorial thanks
Wonderful. Ty.
I love leaves, always the first thing I color. You desk, oh boy..how do you find anything.
A cluttered desk is a sure sign that work is getting done. Color on!
I used to have a sign above my art station when still a teenager that read, "A cluttered desk is indicative of a creative mind." I need to reprint it and post it again.
This has been very interesting, but what is Posca?
Amy McDaniel Posca is a brand of paint marker 🙂
I like the mess! I have to color at my kitchen table, so I have to pick everything up!
❤️❤️
I needed this one
Looks like my desk!
what books are you using you have a lot of video that I love but I want to buy some of the coloring book's , if I can find them , Thank you, Tammy in Ga. LOVE LOVE your work ,
When you were showing the veins on the leaves I thought you said you take some pasta! With the shaking noise I thought you had put dry pasta in a tin and was shaking that until I saw the pen! Are you saying pasca? If so what is it? Looks like tipex correction fluid to me.
It's a type of paint pen, looks like they come in various colours. I hope that helps.
New to your channel Lori, and wondering if you’d mind explaining what paska ( not even sure how to spell it, lol ) is.... never heard of it... loved your tutorial on leaves and as a Canadian, your accent is a delight, makes me smile... is it a Brooklyn accent? That’s my best guess.... thanks for giving such great instructions.
Posca is a white paint pen everyone uses to do white highlights. It's the same as Acrylico. I use both brands. I like the white in Posca and the colors of Acrylico.
Miss I m trying to find out ,what is called white pen you r using in your coloring? Please help me
My new word, posca... Thanks
My art mamaleh♥️
My shame??? INSTANT SUB.
At the beginning on doing the leaf veins you mentioned using something that sounded like "Pausca," and I don't know what that is. Could you tell me the proper way to spell it and what it is, please. Thanks, Dee
Hello Lori, I realized after watching a lot of videos on coloring. I need to take a class on color theory. I had no idea what the Prismacolor greys were used for? Do you have recommendations for on-line classes during this pandemi? Most appreciated.
We are about to start one. If you are not familiar with the pencils at all, get the CMW workbook. Look at my latest video and in the description. You will find my twitter address. Send me a private message on Twitter so I can put you in. The class starts in a few days. We already have 4 groups doing it. The book URL is also in my description. Welcome.
Can you share with me the brand, etc. of the electric pencil sharpener that you use? Thanks!
