    I think you could remove DBA from this video and replace it with programmer or network admin or any IT job title and it would still be spot on.

    differences between a db admin and a db designer (Navathe );
    Database Administrator (DBA): oversees and manages the database system (including the data and software). Duties include authorising users to access the database, coordinating/monitoring its use, acquiring hardware/software for upgrades, etc.
    Database Designers: They identify the data to be stored and choose a way to sort it. They also define views for different categories of users.

    Thank you so very much! This really helped me study for the interview I have today. I feel a bit less anxious and, if I don't get the job, I know it will serve as a "jump off point", so I know where and what I need to study and/or practice to be better prepared next time. #wishmeluck #JrDBAcandidate

    I dream of becoming a DBA but I lack most experience. So far I only have experience as a Data Entry Administrator. Would a data analyst job increase my chances to land a DBA job?

    I've been an RN for more than 20 years...and I don't like it....I like computers...and was once A+ certified (big deal,...I know!),.....but can see working with computers in health care instead of sick people...and other RN's or MD's....I'm best,...task oriented; fast, accurate and mobile.
    I wonder...would SQL or Oracle be best to 'start to learn' for hospital environments...and why please; realizing that your heavily entrenched in SQL....I'll keep this fact in mind.
    Cheers,
    Frank B. Upstate NY

    • @learningplatform9604

      Yes Different. DBA means Database Administrator where DBMS is the Database management system.

      Learning Platform
      So for dba any qualification is required ??
      How abt dbms?

    • @learningplatform9604

      Dear Kam,
      For DBA vendor certification plays an important role to get good job(e.g Certification on Oracle 12c, 11g , SQL server 2012 etc). Not obligatory .. If you have computer science background that's pretty well. And DBMS is a system/software of managing the database (e.g oracle , mysql, SQL Server, MS Access etc).

      Dear Learning Platform
      I am just a beginner for oracle
      Really interested to take course in oracle, i hv done diploma in computer science
      So What do u suggest me?? What would be my first step? Is there any
      benefit from learning oracle or could i get a good decent salary?
      Plz guide me!! I need ur help
      Waiting for ur humble reply
      Thanks!

    • @learningplatform9604
      @learningplatform9604 7 років тому +1

      First of all you should learn yourself at home by reading any pdf or video tutorial about sql & dbms. After gathering some knowledge you can admit yourself to a oracle vendor authorized software firm or institute to complete the course on Oracle and get vendor certification. Oracle because most of the organization use oracle as their dbms. You should be more practical than theoretical. For this u can attend any organization for internship program if company allow you. At first your salary range may not be decent but after a amount of time it would be decent must. Because DBA job salary range increase proportional with the amount time(Time mean experience ). i think it would be helpful for you..Thank you.
