I was an exchange student in US for a week and I can tell you that when it comes to history and geography, their school sysytem sucks with a capital S. So going to school doesn't help that much in this case :D

Ditto except, I'm southern, grew up in the south, but grew up with Geordies as my Dad is one as are his family. I think the only time I've ever stumbled on anything they've said was when my aunt offered me a coke once, to which I replied "but why would I need one of them? I don't drink wine". My Dad is actually the Geordie Mouse from Aardman's animated TV series Creature Comforts.

Jade is not Persian,She has one-quarter Egyptian ancestry and one-quarter Yemeni ancestry.
You really get used to jade's accent, like when I started being a fan of them I couldn't understand a single word coming out of Jade's mouth (English is not my first language) but now I understand her pretty well

The town is on the southern side of the River Tyne Estuary.
The town on the northern side of the Tyne Estuary is North Shields.
Further inland on the River Tyne is the city of Newcastle.
People who come from Newcastle are called 'Geordies', but sometimes people from surrounding towns are miscalled Geordies as well.
It's not a 'Miscall' Geordie is a term for people from the North-East as a collective. The 'Geordie' accent only originated from Newcastle it's a misconception that only people from Newcastle are Geordies.

The UK and Britain are basically the same thing. It’s basically england, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland together. If you are from these places then you are British. I know it’s confusing for people outside the U.K . Xxxxxx
Just to let you know there are a lot of people in Northern Ireland who would hate to be called British, like about half the population. Actually there are even many Scottish people and some Welsh people who hate to be called British as well.

lemme just clear this up bc i've seen lots of mixed information in the comments section which isn’t entirely correct. if u want a proper explanation pls read coz it took ages to simplify lol.
the uk is one country. england, scotland, wales and ni are the nations which make it up, in the same way that the us and aus have states. each nation has different regions and the accents differ depending on which region you’re from. all four members of little mix are from england. jade and perrie both have geordie accents because they are from a town in particular region of the north of england. jade's accent is stronger, or “broader” than perrie's, because perrie moved around as a child, even spending some time in new zealand, and with family in the south of england. jesy and leigh are both from the south east of england but they are from towns in different counties (counties make up regions). leigh is from high wycombe in the county of buckinghamshire (which is quite posh) and jesy is from romford, which is near essex (think of that well known “british accent” from love island) but is technically in the county of greater london. hope this clears things up but feel free to ask questions!

She’s not Irish at all, basically England itself has many different accents much like America does. Easiest way to explain it. She’s from South Shields which is very near Newcastle in the North East of the UK, about an hour away from the Scottish border. The further north of the UK, the more thick accents there are.
Think of South Shields like South Dakota - it’s part of a pair of places (North Shield and South Shields / North Dakota and South Dakota) but it doesn’t necessarily mean South Dakota is in the south of the country
She's from south shields which is the north east of England & about 350 miles north of London. Nowhere near Ireland.
Her accent is not influenced by her Persian heritage. That's just how they talk there.
Accents are really strong in the UK. The next town from her will sound very different.
I live about 30 miles south of her & I have a different accent. In fact the town's in just a 5 mile radius of me are all different accents.
The UK doesn't have a generic accent like the USA.
It's complicated to explain & the history of it goes back to times before England was even country.
To get a flavour of British accents, watch comedians Peter Kay (Bolton, north west England) & Micky Flanagan (cockney, east London) you'll see how different it is.

Jade and Perrie grew up in a similar place ( north east england ) Jade's accent is just stronger but it's very similar to Perrie's. I think Perrie tones it down for interviews whereas Jade doesn't.

I get what you mean with the geography stuff in Europe, but all you have to remember is that England is one country, Great Britain is Scotland, Wales and England. Then the UK is Northen island and Great Britain.
The 'UK' or 'Britian' is a combination of Northern Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland. However if you were from England, you would probably say you were from England, not UK.
Where Jade and Perrie are from (South Shields) is Nothern England hence the Geordie accents.
You know how in the United States there are multiple states that make one country ... well the UK is the other way around, there are 4 countries (England Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland) that form one state ( the UK)
Also Jade and Perrie are both from South Shields which is a town in the North East of England (near Newcastle) that's why they have a Geordie accent (Geordie accent is typically the accentof Newcastle . The reason why you can understand Perrie better is just because her accent is less strong than Jade's accent you know in the US there are people who have a strong Texan accent but some people from Texas don't have a very strong accent .

She said "straightnas" I think, either hair straighteners or she wants a fight? 😂 Geordies are from the North East of England which usually just referred to people living on or close to the river Tyne, so many different migrating groups over the centuries has made the Geordie accent unique. A southern English speaker would say I'm going Home, a Geordie might say Yem. You would say child I would say bairn and finally you would say flea and I would say lop. We also took words like 'burd' from our Scottish neighbours.

Geordie is an accent from many people living in the north east of England (mainly the city Newcastle) and North Shields is part of that area. So let me simplify the geography the Uk is the combination of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Great Britain is the Main land in the Uk which holds the country’s England, Wales and Scotland. London is Capital of the Uk as a whole it is located in the South East of England. The Geordie ascent which happens to be my ascent as well is from the North East of England which holds Newcastle and South Shields the reason they is different ascents is because the Uk is bigger than you might think and a ascent from the North is different to the South
Accents in England are the same as America for example people in Texas sound different to people in New York but there still the same country that’s exactly the same in England and Britain
This is kind of like a British person making a video about not understanding the geography of North America, and not getting that Canada is a different country from the USA and also that even though Alaska is separated by Canada it is still part of the USA. Then being surprised that someone from New York might have a different accent to someone from Alabama.😯🤣

Across from ireland is the island of Britain which includes the countries of england which is the biggest part, scotland in the north and wales in the west. Jade and perrie are from south shields which is an area of Newcastle which is in the north of England close to the scottish border. The uk stands for united kindom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland which is a small part of the island of ireland which the british kept a hold of for political reasons but Not part of the geographical island of Britain. Dont know if that helps its confusing for people to determine the differences between the geographical uk and political uk as there are many parts of the oversees British empire including Canada and Australia.

Jade's mam lived (I don't know if she still does) 2 doors down from me nana and granda in South shields. I've met Jade a few times and she's honestly so lovely. Me dad has the same accent as her since he was raised in shields too. some of the phases I've picked up and people honestly think I'm mad it's kinda funny sometimes mind.

The thing with British accents is that even with neighbouring towns and cities, the accents and dialects can have vast differences.
I have family in the neighbouring town to where I live. Barely 10 miles away and their accents are completely different to mine and even to this day, I have a hard time understanding them fully.

Its nothing to do with Persian. Everyone from around Newcastle (the geordies) sounds the same. My dad lived for 80 years in Yorkshire but still had his geordie accent when he died at 93 years old - and that is hard to do in Yorkshire.

@@Favourreacts oh right, I didn't realise ahaha, I just know that a lot of irish people would get very triggered by that as we're very prideful and dont really like to be associated with the UK cause we like our independence, there is a lot of history behind it but if you're interested you can look up:
- Ulster, Munster and the Offaly-Laois plantations
- The Irish rebellion of 1798
- Home Rule Crisis 1912-1914
- The 1916 Easter Rising
- The War for Independence 1919-1921
- The Irish Civil War 1922-1923

Although a Geordie, Jade and Perrie come from South Shields. This makes them Sanddancers or Sandys for short. It's a dialect within a dialect and most Geordies can can tell if you're a Sandy. Compare it with Cheryl Tweedy's Newcastle Geordie accent.
