I have an 04, should i lower the tire and put some oil or grease on that cable and housing? I live in a salt using state.My old Tahoe is a little different than this but it rusted up real good.

I would. This one has stayed in the south and still was on there fairly snug.

Completely depends on who owned yours before you, and where they kept it. Most of the time is in the glove box in a little baggie.
