I just took my first sewing class today and looking to buy a sewing machine and I thinking about this one. My goal is to do alternations on my dress shirts to make them fit better. Would you recommend this machine to a beginner like myself?

Hello and thanks for the great question! This machine is a step above a beginner's machine. It would be an excellent choice for your needs and would also allow you to sew thicker things, like denim.
