I strongly suspect that this piece, although routinely attributed to JS Bach, was actually composed by his son, CPE Bach. In any case, yes, this is a wonderful performance. Nobody has yet noted that in addition to the fine musicianship, the sound engineering here is also superb. (Probably other, if not all, of the flute sonatas attributed to the father, are really of the son. If you listen to the flute sonatas currently attributed to CPE Bach, you´ll pick up lots of similarities to what you hear in this piece. And the style of JS is typically much more austere than this.)
