It's not rap at all it's called sargam where you hit different notes in the fastest way possible. Basically sa re ga ma pa dha ni sa are the name of the different notes and you sing it in the fastest way.
And it is also sung in two ways. One is the way she was singing , that is by saying the notes, sa re ga ma pa dha ni sa and the other by just singing the notes and not saying . It is called the "aa-kar" way in Bengali. Idk what it's called in hindi😅. But it's very hard and requires years of dedication and practice.
The point where u thought they were rapping was actually reciting Sa, re , ga, ma, pa, dha, ni. These seven notes are basics of Indian classical music. First u recite Sa, Re, ga,...with increasing pitch and then go counter clockwise from Ni, Dha, pa....with decreasing pitch.
If you are aware of the western classical music, then it's same as 'Do Re Mi Fa So La Si'

Indian classical singers are famous for vocal controls, you must listen to bollywood singers like Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal.
Also old singers especially Lata Mangeshkar who is called India’s nightangle. India has a very old and diverse music tradition and classical music (which is very different from bollywood music) comes in varied styles...

When Alia said she had sleepless nights I think she was referring to the Kathak dance routine required in this scene. Kathak is a traditional dance form from India and Alia has so far managed to not do a role that required her to dance the way she did for this role. So can imagine why it kept her awake.
That first "voice" was of Shreya Ghoshal's. She's the ultimate female play back singer. She kills it in every genre, pop, rock, classical and dance songs. She has so many fantastic songs. Like the past decade or 2 has been her reign. Her voice is simply breathtaking.
Madhuri Dixit is called definition of dance. She is heavenly beauty and natural miracle...she looked like angel when she was young...today she is 51 still stunning

Hindi has the same consonant sounds as English, plus a few more. There
are 33 consonants and 13 vowels in Hindi. This allows Hindi to have

exactly the same, no guesswork involved. The letter P for instance, can
be either an expulsive or non-expulsive initial letter. The Word
"Phaar" (rip,tear) begins with an expulsive P, but the words "Pahaar"
(mountain) or "Pakistan" (The Land Of the Pure/Holy) begin with a
non-expulsive P sound.
So, the letters DH in Dhoom are not two separate sounds, rather they
form a single expulsive D sound. All that to say that Dhoom sounds much
closer to the English word "Doom" than the non-word "Duh-Hoom". :)
