Hi Linda thanks for this beautiful video - I love this technique and a refresher was just what I needed. Your cards are just gorgeous. Now to the craft room !!
Those cards are beautiful. I made several cards using the black ice technique and they were so much fun to make gorgeous cards. I’m going to make some Christmas cards for some special friends with this technique. One tip...I put a small piece of tape on the back so it would stick to my scrap paper, that way it’s not moving around so much. I have used both stazon & memento black, just needed to make sure it was dry.
Wow, these cards are absolutely gorgeous! I have never seen the black ice technique before and I just love it! Thank you so much for demonstrating this, I will definitely be trying it!
I did some of that black ice technique several years ago but with help. I’ve not tried it again but had thought about it. Watching your video really helps with refreshing my memory about how to do it. Thanks, Linda! Very good instructions!
Such beautiful cards, Linda! I haven't done the black ice technique for quite some time. May have to try it with some different stamps. Thanks for the clear instructions!
Linda, thank you again tor teaching us a wonderful technique. I can't try it yet as I'm waiting for my new heat tool, but I saved the video to view again later. I think I'd have cut out the top red panel of the red foil, though, as it's hidden by the black layer - saves material LOL
I remember when Melissa Kerman first introduced this I was blown away. I was privileged to see the technique before it was first shown, and immediately made some cards. I love the look. Thanks for watching.
The cards are gorgeous! ❤ I love doing the black ice technique, but haven't done any Christmas cards with it before. As that beautiful foil paper is kind of pricey for me, I usually die cut out the center of the layering pieces to use for other projects. Thank you for sharing. 🙂
Check your craft store for metallic poster board. I have found it in the past at Michael's and Hobby Lobby. The poster board is much less expensive than cardstock in the papercrafting section and you get more!
I LOVE this new technique! Thanks for sharing this, I have never seen or heard of this technique before and I love it. Going now to see if I have Staz On and clear embossing powder. Gotta Go!
Goog question, I don’t think you can very effectively. It would most likely resist any ink once embossed. The more I think about it I am afraid it would just rub off. I do think you could stamp and emboss a new image on top. You will have to let me know what happens if you try it.
Linda, you look so beautiful, what are you doing or using differently? The cards are fantastic. Your imagination is amazing. TYFS your videos. Please take care and stay safe. ~Barbara
I admit: I LOVE foil paper! Never heard of the Black Ice technique, but it's stunning! I am not doing the embossing technique at all. I am already doing so many crafting techniques, I don't wanna start another one and buy stuff for it. Any idea how to get StazOn removed from photopolymer stamps? Have some of mine stained with it. Though it never caused me trouble, I would love o clean them.
@@LindaInkandIngenuity THank you, thought it damages the photopolymer stamps? Good to know it doesn't. Btw: I sent you an email with photos of my card ;-)
I thought you said at the beginning of the video to be sure to clean your stamps with the stazon ink immediately. Why did you not do that immediately after you used each one?
Coucou Linda Merci pour ce tuto.Les cartes sont tres belles mais je pense qu'il faut beaucoup de technique pour reussir ces beautés.Je vais essayé mais je n'ai pas la maitrise.Scrapbisous de France.Jeannine.
They look splendid from a distance but I'm afraid I was lost trying to learn the technique during most of the video due to no close ups and I couldn't see what you were doing, even the finished cards.
Beautiful technique!

I remember seeing the Black Ice technique years ago on the SplitCoast Stampers website. I had forgotten all about it!

@@laramosby7978 Thank you for that info. 🙂 We don't have Hobby Lobby stores here in Canada, but I will check out Michael's.
These are incredible! I had never seen or heard of this technique. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks Linda if you search for back ice technique you will find a top of examples.
Very nice
Please add the supply list for these very lovely cards. Thanks.
Done! My list is always shown below the video on UA-cam and on my blog.
I LOVE this new technique! Thanks for sharing this, I have never seen or heard of this technique before and I love it. Going now to see if I have Staz On and clear embossing powder. Gotta Go!
Thanks, it has been out now for a couple of years. Most pieces are stunning.
Stunning cards. Love this technique. Crafting love and hugs.
Can you stamp on top of the black one you clear embossed after you embossed?
Goog question, I don’t think you can very effectively. It would most likely resist any ink once embossed. The more I think about it I am afraid it would just rub off. I do think you could stamp and emboss a new image on top. You will have to let me know what happens if you try it.

Awe, so sweet. Thank you!
Love this. A little complicated for myself at the moment but I love it.
love your cards. where can i get a catalog?
Hi Candace, If you will email me your contact information I will send a set of catalogs to you. Thanks for watching.

I use the StazOn cleaner. It does do a good job.

I just subscribe! 👍🏼 Love it
Welcome Mary! Thanks for watching.
I thought you said at the beginning of the video to be sure to clean your stamps with the stazon ink immediately. Why did you not do that immediately after you used each one?
I did, and edited it out, it takes up too much time in the video. I can’t bear the thought of wasting your time!
wow!
Amazing cards, love them. I’ve heard of this technique but did not know the the process. TFS 🇨🇦
I couldn’t see any of the stamping.
It shows up a bit more once you heat set everything.
what stamp set are you using?
Hi Patrice, Linda is using the Peaceful Boughs bundle. All the supplies are listed under the video for ease.
That’s right the peaceful Boughs Bundle.
Coucou Linda Merci pour ce tuto.Les cartes sont tres belles mais je pense qu'il faut beaucoup de technique pour reussir ces beautés.Je vais essayé mais je n'ai pas la maitrise.Scrapbisous de France.Jeannine.
I am not sure about "black ice" but people have been doing this tarnished metal technique, which is the same thing, for over 20 years.
They look splendid from a distance but I'm afraid I was lost trying to learn the technique during most of the video due to no close ups and I couldn't see what you were doing, even the finished cards.
So sorry, I will do better.
