Just used this video (because you show the parts, not just assume I knew where a water pump drain bolt with copper washer was) and followed along to change out my z400. It's a 19 and granted I bought it new, I think it had ready to ride out the door when I bought it. Except I bought it in 21 and the battery had to be replaced so I've assumed the or the door status but also assumed this was hard to do myself. Thanks for saving me whatever I would've to pay a dealer. Even motivated me to install the fender delete I've planned to install for a year.

I used this video to do my coolant change, I noticed a huge difference in the city (Columbus) and I’ll be taking it on the Highway later and try to remember the update , im about to take my ninja 400 on a 800 mile ride ~ so I’ll definitely have a good update later. If.. I remember to update
So I did the change, put 2000 miles on the bike in about a week and a half, this will absolutely help your bike temp, I used to chill around 4bars on the highway5 in the city (just under max) and now highway is a cool 3 bars, and city 4, 5 if it’s just dead stop traffic.
Remember to turn your bike off in stand still traffic.

They do say distilled water. But hey.

Distilled or battery water you need to use pure water since the minerals and particles can damage the radiator or cause corrosion then you add your coolant in 50/50 ratio or higher, it just keeps the ratiator clean and increases the waters boiling point and decreases the freezimg point

Do you have to completely take off the reservoir to drain it?

    Nice bike!
Working on a super sport build to see if we can compete with TST’s 400 build.
    Subbed as well.

Hey do you have to remove the reservoir tank, or can i just drain the fluids. I have relatively new fluid in the tank.

I just serviced mine about an hour ago I'd recommend when you replace the coolant you take the resivour out, just 2 m8 bolts, I wouldn't go mixing 2 coolants just do the entire thing, radiator takes about 1.1L of water then a bit extra in the tank.

PS I,d run some water through it first n clean up. Oh! There you go. My mad you’re doing it as I’m typing. 👏👏

Hey, thanks for this video. It helps sooo much!! I have a ninja 400 and i ride it in a small city where you can cruise at 40mph on long stretch and 20mph or so in inner road, so im pretty familiar with bike overheating and stuff, and im using stock coolants (green stuff) , will using this Engine Ice solve my problems and keep my temps low? Need suggestions.
Furthermore, i limit tested my bike recently and had an coolant overflow accident, and after that my bike hits red line even if im cruising at 40mph or so ( 40mph cruising does not over heat the bike often but usually temp gadge is 2 bars off from overheating) but now when i ride it, it tops off right away. I think the problem is, there could be another loose pipe or less coolant or i just need a stronger coolant, hopefully Engine Ice can solve my problem.
    Need other owners opinions!!

Hey thanks for watching so far the engine ice has helped, the bike used to get to like 5 bars when your reving around 8k around stop and go and now its stays at 3 to 4 bars and when your cruising normal the bike stays in the middle, unless you get caught at a really long light (some lights can be almost 3 min in SF especially when the traffic senors dont sense the bike). Did you top off the coolant again after it overflowed ? You could also have a air bubble so you dont really have as much as it says.
