I love how nice everyone is. Guests are polite and respectful of property, brother and sister get along perfectly, parents are trusting, kids leave at a decent hour and thank the hosts graciously, and everyone shows genuine concern for teacher's well-being.
I hope Mr. B figures out how he feels and gets a hold on things.

I just discovered this sketch and man is it amazing. It's hilarious, of course, but also so poignant. As a now-51 year old, I completely get it lol. He isn't there to try to be cool, or hang out with the kids, or creep on young girls. He's simply mourning his lost youth. It's . . . kind of awesome, really.

Yep. I'm the oldest person where I work and I understand this video completely. My team values my perspective, but they also tell me that they worry about me because I tend to isolate myself. They don't know that I am quietly grieving. They also don't know how much I really mean it when I tell them to value their youth. I know I just end up sounding preachy.
I am 45 and for the past 10 years I been mourning my youth. Feels like I did so much but still wish I did more at the same time but really just sad it had to end. Maybe I just can't wait to have kids to watch them grow up.

It's amazingly dark. Everyone around him looks happy and excited, and he just looks completely dead inside.
It's meant to. From the moment his wife calls him up and he stares listlessly ahead, we knew this was gonna be a sad one. Got even sadder as he stood in the bathroom staring at himself. And that last shot is the final nail in the coffin.

Is that sarcasim? The makeup team did an absolute shit job lol. All I could think watching it was literally how bad thier makeup was... it was terrible for the skit. Mikey Day has such dark makeup on and it wasn't put on correctly because it looks completely unnatural and out of place like Blackface. Cecilys makeup doesn't make her look young either. Other skits where actors are supposed to be young they've looked way better. They put on that insta wrinkle fix shit where it dries and tightens the face for a instant face lift then put makeup ontop of it and it looks amazing. This just look horrendous.
Actually they were both vampirized at 20. They wear makeup in all the other skits so that they appear to be aging.

One of my new favorite SNL sketches. Can’t believe I’ve wasted the last couple years assuming that Saturday night live wasn’t good anymore when it seems like it’s actually pretty great still
Generally there's a couple of really good sketches, a couple of lousy ones, and some in between. It's easy to say it used to be better, because it's the good sketches that you watch again, or that end up on 'best of' compilations. But considering each episode is put together in a few days, and focused around a different host personality, it's amazing the high quality of work they put out.
Mr. B (Will Ferrell) is how every 30 year old feels now.

I notice Will does alot of characters struggling with getting older vs partying like you're young. Its a theme that runs across many of his skits, movies, characters in general. Its probably something he struggles with in real life, just not as amplified as it is in his characters. That getting older complex his characters have are often coupled with a disappointed wife/ex-wife
