Probably my favorite video ever. It’s a prime example of how we can get derailed each day on the farm. Wanting to power wash later involved plugging in the lift, but that was stuck so you had to get the skid steer. Everyone always asks me what I’m going to be doing today. My response is always “Would it matter? As soon as I walk out the door there’s something that I didn’t plan on that changes every part of the day.”
Hello Chet, bleach white works on rim and white letters on tires. You cute looking like that Chet . Merry Christmas to you all.
Clearcoat is peeling on hood and got 2 inches of mn gravel road dust on it but got raised blue letters and shiny front rims
Chet, you do a good job polishing to me. I believe I will bring my rims to you to polish them. I do mine once a year and I hate having to do it. But I love them when they are done.
Also what do you use to mark on the tires. And how long does it last?
Just a paint stick and about a year.
Chet I know this is a late response but more rough less pressure and after polished wipe with corn starch it takes out the swirls!!! Blow smoke shift gears!!!😎
We had forklifts get stuck on drains and low spots on the floor all the time. The only way to get them out was to push it with another one. It was always so funny to see a 10,000 pound machine get stuck on a little dip in the floor
Had 38 tires and rims on my Pete with a seven axle Mac trailer polished 28 rims by hand three times a year not counting tanks ,steps, and the rest of the ginferbread ! Good Times !
Get those quad tracs washed my god..lol
Cant get enough of your old man fuckin cracks me up....
Compound is your friend in polishing. Use plenty. Great job! My job for 7 years. You did good.
We had the same bother with John Deer to. They kept voting them but they never lasted so we got rid of it. Good video Chet
Zephyr pro 40 liquid polish and a wool buffing pad on a variable speed buffer. Easy and quick. Then put a coat of good cleaner wax on them.
"The Larson Book of Commandments" ..now that's an item that should be stocked in the Farm Merch Store ! ....bet there's some interesting reading in that tome :)
Like the videos!! Glad to see the 94 Pete with the paint scheme still running ( I owned that truck at one time) sharp truck
Those tires turned out really nice !
Tip to do front wheels do the face area where the lugs go on the the ground first then put in on the truck and do the rest with the wheel in the air so it can spin it makes it much easier
@4:22 "Wesley's Brite White" MAN does that take me back! I didn't even know they made that anymore....back in the day, I have used many a bottle keeping the white walls "brite white" on many a tire
I’m sure John Deere appreciated your product review on their fuel injectors. Thanks for telling it like it is.
my grandson just watched your video he laughed so hard at the end that he really peed his pants your awesome
You guys know how to keep stuff nice! That’s awesome
Nice small things are sometimes the best!!
Still have 9 more the polish not counting the bumper pipes fuel tanks breathers mirrors that job it’s way cheap to have someone do it haha save the back. Enjoy the videos can’t wait for the future ones and would love to come out and see y’all’s operation and maybe alittle free labor being I’m fixing to get into work Corn and soybean on are small 900 acre farm wouldn’t farming maybe 500ish acres for my early early retirement after a semi accident in July of 2019 being rear ended at a stop at 80 mph buy another loaded semi sucks so I’d like to maybe come learn alittle information in the future if y’all allow help/ free hand in when y’all get back to planting and then again next harvest thanks guys keep up the hard work really enjoy the knowledge
I polished my 32’ Show Cattle trailer a couple years ago so I know the feeling 😂🤣 Good thing is it still shines really nice this many years later.
We watch till the end cause it good entertainment
I'm interested in coming out I'm in Michigan and I would like to see the farm never been to one I happene to be a retired truck driver great video can't wait to see the next one keep up with awesome videos
just had 2 of my trucks done I hire it done......
When u use the liquid polish rub it in till it turns black and use white flour to take it off way easier
When fueling add a quart of automatic transmission fluid.
Will fix your injecter problems.
You know Chet if you had a Case combine you wouldn't have to worry about that lol.
Yes😁
U can come to Arkansas an do mine next. I want the same hard work in this video too! 😂😂😂👍🏻👍🏻 Nice an shiney!!
Nice job on the rims now gotta get those tanks shinned up👊
Really enjoy watching your videos. Only been a sub for a couple of months but really finding your content informative while also very entertaining as well. Thank you and keep them coming.
And he’s not a blow hard like zach
Nice job on the rims, well worth the effort! Glad to see you are using Never Secise, great stuff!!
I've never seen anyone paint a tire before. Must be a Minnesota thing. 👍😁
No it's a peterbilt thing
@@nickpalmeter7660 yes it is! 👍
Only in the western part of the state.lol
The way usedbthe angle grinder to buff the chrome rims was correct with the type of buffing pad you used if youbwant to take thee polish further use no1 and no2 polishing or buffing compounds then finish up with abtop notch polishing compound and and lambs wool polishing pad.
Watching you buff them rims made me kind of miss doing that myself.
Chet it's better than wondering what your gonna do to get food.
Pretty good comedic acting at the end. Your gonna do good on Y.T.
Like these better than the same old same old Cole the Cornstart stuff... Thanks for great stuff! We subscribed; we like!
I need to send you the Teflon rings I have for the old ball an socket rims. I was cringing after you polished them wheels an no Teflon rings to protect the rims
Keep the videos coming, doing great!
Love the looks of a shiny rim !! Just? What about the other 5?? ;-)
"It's my tire I'll play with it as much as I want"
They make a plastic ring that you place over rim so your impact lug will not touch your shined up rims.
Great content thanks
Suggestion if you ever have trouble harvesting cornnthats down and tangled try a conventional front or head. That will work well.
Great video
I would have done the tire lettering in white!! lol
That’s pretty cool 😎🤠🐄
Must have been an excellent art student in school, colouring inside the lines like that.
Great work!
Check our Tony Fast's, Fast Ag. Montana, wheel polishing room. He has a machine that he puts the wheels on and it does a job on them. You was extremely clean compared to what he looks like when he comes out. 😄
Muito bom seus videos aqui do Brasil
Hey Chet, give Tony Fast @ Fast Ag a shout. He has an awesome easy way to polish truck rims.
Taper seat lugs haven't them for long time all new Peterbilts I work on are all uni-log. I work for dealership soo. You almost look like Millennial Farmers twin LOL
Looks like u need Cole the Cornstar help with those tiers... lol 😂
Try a orbit sander with a rag works well for polishing rims!!
John Deere seems to have a real problem with replacement parts holding up.
If it don’t shine, it ain’t mine! Remember, Chrome don’t get you home! But you should be safe you guys take really good care of all your equipment.
Equipment tour and farm tour, lets go
Polished up and ready for road salt and Mudd. 🙄 Was wondering why you didn't was the truck first, then polish and paint lol
dude u had me rollin awesome vid lol
Painting tires, polishing rims, very important matters on a truck. 😂
Douglas have you thought of taking your truck rims to tony fast he does a real good job
Finally...a farmer using anti-seize! I am so proud of you guys!
Buzzer going off. .... You are wrong oil based product is better
A careful look, nay even a cursory glance, at the bottle or the SDS for Permatex anti-seize shows that it uses paraffin, a petroleum byproduct as the binder/transport medium. So it is oil based, but the metals in anti seize are the “active” ingredients, not the binder.
As a commercial tire technician, you never want to use anti-seize on the studs and nuts, you are not reaching the clamping force required on the unit, 30w oil is used on hub piloted wheels and stud piloted wheels should have nothing on them.
Try using flitz cleaner and polish for your aluminum stuff works great. I had my rims looking like new in minutes so not kidding. But just don't use a mothers polish ball their junk
Since ur a professional at polishing rims, I'll bring my truck too😉
That really made them rims and tires look sharp
You might want to cover your pit ( 9.30 ) incase someone falls in. Polishing rims gets satisfaction in the end . Good job.
i have enjoyed watching all your videos during this covid pandemic, can you let us know the acerage of your enterprise and what other farming enterprisesyou carry out.
*😁"One handed generation"😁*
3:52 KUDOS.. that's keeping it REAL !! Keep the COMMENTARY coming !!
They're easier to polish on the truck, atleast for me any ways, i jack up the axle so i can spin the wheel as I go
Looks good, the company I drive for has found that no never seize and drops of oil on threads are recommended now. It's for proper tourqe on lug nuts. It does not affect the nut coming back off. Plus its alot less mess. I'm not trying to tell you your wrong but through the studies done oil works better. This study was done by Alcoa the rim manufacturer. New subscriber and enjoy your content
They better do another test in the snow belt . Because you ever had a stuck one it's not very fun. But you probably in shop with high end impacts I do side jobs on vehicles at home. But had my fair share of stuck lugs and other bolts. Some were from from idiots who think tight as they
can get it is best. Even put it on the back of rims also afterr having one to many that were stuck. And dont put wd 40 on anything that has to move when its cold
@@magee16749 first off, you sound a little sarcastic, not a fan. Second, you said key word, side job. Guys like you without the proper equipment are why we cant have nice things. I said nothing of WD-40. They recommend drops of regular oil. If you had a proper tool or were well informed on such things instead of being a shade tree mechanic you would not have such problems. Your never seize may tighten and tourqe up to proper setting but after you walk away and put a few miles on a lug nut you better check the tourqe again, or end up like a Kenny Roger's song saying why did you leave me loose wheel
You looked like tom hanks talking to a volley ball. WILSON, WILSON I'm sorry Wilson!!!!
Now do all the rest of the aluminum on the truck . always did that every two weeks
You also forgot"tire-black",this really makes the raised white letter stand out.
buy an actually buffing hand tool and not a 7/12 inch grinder. you don't need the high rpms.. an actual buffing toll is about half the rpms and more controllable.
Did you go to high school at Minnewaska High near Appleton ? Watching from Amiret township, Lyon Co., Mn.
Was that Loctite you used on those nuts and bolts? You definitely have an interesting attitude about work. I wouldn't have painted the tires what a waste of time.
Would of been a antiseize compound
Looks like Santa should have brought you a package of tripods. LoL
Equipment tour and shop tour
Now go to the auto parts store and get "Never Dull" and really shine those wheels lol
Anti seize on back side of rims. Prevents Iron hub sticking to Aluminum rim.
Teflon spacers work better and don’t leave a mess to be cleaned up every time you remove the wheel.
If you think your day was odd, because you spend a lot time painted a tire and polishing rims, I spent time watching a guy paining a tire and polishing rims!
Do they not have jackstand for those corn heads while you're working under them? I like you enought to be worrried so give it some thought. If you do I won't use my little things joke on you. Luv the vids.
icebaby snocain they have a bar that come down on the cylinder than prevent it from coming down.
Mellow Yellow over Mt Dew?!?!?!? and here I was about to subscribe....
Get durabrite wheels. No polishing. Always shines
Get black wheels, never have to polish again. Best thing I did for my truck after 10 yrs of annual polishing.
G'day mate.
Team Dougo!!
Go with the Alcoa Durabrites and you never polish again. They are not as shinny as high level polished Alcoa's but they stay the same level.
Chet, check out Tony on Fast-Ag Montana UA-cam channel. He’s got a sweet setup on cleaning big truck rims.this must have been be 4 The big Swede.
Floating those gears, son!
Mountain Dew in that fridge....what the hay???
You guys got some nice iron! Hiring lol?
Do a farm equipment and shop/ toolbox tour
And in depth service truck tour
I think they can make blue tires it would take about 9 weeks to get them.
I have never heard of john deere injector doing that. I would be following that issue up as injectors should never be an issue at those hours in early models you could get 7 to 8000 hrs without touching them . Makes me wonder if def fuel is the problem.
Kevin Klingner there’s no def on it.
Do you have to have a cdl to drive TT in your state.. Or Is there a farm provision to drive a TT
Next time just hit them wheel studs with a small blast of PB instead of anti-seize
