- Another French Defense game, in the same rare variation for black! Against the same guy. I managed to improve on my play from our previous game and didn't make silly opening moves, but the position was still very uncomfortable.

Fide Master Randelovic (Bad Bishop Chess Channel) has an interesting miniature on this variation on his channel that shows ideas for both sides.
I follow his channel. Good info.
I have just gone through the ChessMood course BlackMood Openings. Nc6 was the move that Avetik Grigoryan recommended. He also recommended d6 as a response to d4, with the idea that black can play either the French or the Dutch depending on how white responds. It is quite possible that this is where your opponent got this opening play.
I love that the video at the start is mirror-image, but we can see posters in the mirror that are now un-mirrored. Also like that you are apparently a movie fan. I think that poster in the mirror is for "Metropolis" -- a great film, way ahead of its time.
I think the most ambitious move against the French is 3.Nc3. Nd2 is too passive. Not to mention Nc6 from black isn't anything great since it blocks c5 which is one of the main pawn breaks in the French
Question why do u not use ur go chess board or the chessnut board i think u have also for the videos
I love the guimard
11:34 there was NO WAY you were getting mated there. At worst there's g3 and after Rxf3 just move the bishop back.
But are you a piece down?
@stevewild374 Perhaps,but the rook can't move.
Yeah he tends to not calculate deep enough
When are the Dubrovnik games coming?
First one today!
After qxf6 play nf1 and then ne3 and ask them what are they doing. BB5 lines are interesting too.
Sorry. You covered this at the end
