I agree totally with you on how people treat you differently with makeup and clothing choice. I'm a ministers wife and get scrutinized when I run into someone. If possible could you do makeup on a mature model. I am 65 and fight against dark circle and fine lines and wrinkles. I have dry skin also. I also have the one hooded eye. Thanks for your good work.

Have you tried Skin fix under eye cream? I highly recommend it before putting on your color corrector concealer game changer! Use a little as Nikki says under eye creams only little bit goes a long way so I highly suggest you to use skin fix

I'm absolutely treated different depending on how I'm dressed and if I have makeup on, at some places. Not Nordstrom, though. I can go in there looking like he'll, and if I ask them to put that LaPrarie on me, they sure are happy to do it, and they'll go the extra mile and also offer me the Cle de Peau. I love Nordstrom!!!

@@deann3621so basically I went to Sephora and the lady she put that eye cream on first to see if it can make a difference to my under eye, it was magic!!! I was like wait what? It was literally creasing before even with the moisturizer so I learned skin fix is actually worth in investing. I know it’s expensive but skin fix under eye cream is worth getting ♥️ it’s water for your under eyes😊

Yes, getting up at 4:30 to get dressed including a full neutral pretty makeup look, even for working telephone triage in an office in a clinic is important, and people respond accordingly when we make this effort - be it reasonable or not! In regard to struggling with features-for me, although I was not planning to - in my late 50’s I turned to procedures, in a relaxed, not a crazed manner. We all can have issues that we feel we want to deal with -and for me you are an example of how to live this aspect of your life gracefully. We are fortunate to have so many advances in Beauty - and care now. Xo Xo - ! :)

As a former MUA and present day Navy sailor I agree that wearing makeup to work shows professionalism. As an MUA it builds trust, shows you care, and displays skill. As a sailor it shows you care, you are disciplined to wake up timely and be presentable, you aren’t rushing to work and looking like a sh*t bag. Excuse my language. I notice a huge difference in character of those around me when I have a professional appearance.

Former Angeleno here! Lived there over decade. And you talking about leaving as early as possible for work and then doing your make up there resonates! 😂

Sometimes I get a bit of therapy from watching you. The daily grind you live through and juggle around then share is so relaxing. You mange your days wonderfully and then share this great info without sounding insane, whiny or depressed. It’s just a great day.

Nikki, I love your perspective on how you like to be put together, when you go to your jobs. Right or wrong. I agree with the aesthetics that come with that.
As a consumer, if I were to go to a hair stylist for the first time, and her hair is a mess, it would make me weary of her touching my hair.
People such as; makeup artists, hair stylists, fashion stylists, even those working in make up stores - are essentially walking business cards for their business.
When I worked in the construction industry, I would say that our job sites were our business card. Potential clients would see if our sites were well maintained, or if they were a hot mess, which could affect them wanting to use us for future jobs.

You are so beautiful inside and out btw. I actually just had the surgery to lift my very hooded eyes. Now the eye that was higher is lower now, however I am able to see better but would love to learn how to make them more even. DDecker

I’m hope your clients appreciate your skills and work ethic as much as your viewers do. I can’t imagine a makeup artist not wearing makeup in front of a client or whoever is employing them. To me it shows a lack of pride in their own appearance or arrogance in that they are too important to make that effort. That’s what bugs me in general about women who’ve given up putting their best face forward, so to speak. Keep inspiring us in the best way.

Love your look, Nikki. Understated but polished, great for the office or wherever the workplace is. 😍 I'm a fan of Kosas Cloud Set, too. Breezy is the shade I use. I'm 61 with normal to dry skin, and I find it's great as a finishing/setting powder that blurs nicely. My favorite powder (never cakey).
