Such a slept on performance is from the same show. ‘I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it’, it’s predominantly instrumental and very long at over 7 minutes. But I think it’s gorgeous, the videography, the synchronicity of the band, just dudes making great music and feeling it.
Hi! Loving this reaction video to the 1975, especially this performance. You're right, they love all of those other bands that you mentioned. The 1975 are really quite an eclectic band with a ton of influencesI I love that you guys play the songs/videos all the way through before commenting. Thank you! And, I just wanted to mention that the lead singer definitely goes by "Matty".
Coldplay...U2...R.E.M...all favorites of mine...but, I'm going to add another one: They kind of remind me of a younger, slightly happier version of The Cure, and The Cure is my absolute favorite!!! I recently checked these guys out, because after listening to The Tortured Poets Department, I had to try to see what she possibly saw in Matty that I just wasn't seeing...I didn't want to like the 1975. I didn't want to like Matty Healy. What happened was that my skeptical curiosity turned me into an instant fan! Their music reminds me of what I listened to as a kid in the '80s. It's nostalgia with a modern twist. Their music just makes me feel happy... I get it.
