- In what was to become one of the stranger storylines in the history of Dynasty (after the poison paint storyline), Sammy-Jo notices that a battered woman in a bar she visits has a spooky likeness to her auntie Krystle!
Sammy-Jo goes back another day and offers the woman who we discovers is called Rita, a place to stay to escape her abusive partner. I wonder where this could be leading?
Linda Evans doesn't receive a credit at the end of the show for this additional role.

I honestly loved this storyline. But then again I was the only 10 year old I knew that watched Dynasty religiously. As an adult, sure it is a silly storyline, but I look back on it fondly.

I love that the producers were like “This storyline is gonna be great, lets plan it a season in advance so it flows naturally, everyone will love it!”
It’s absurd of course but had it not dragged out for soooo long then it may have worked a bit better but it was just a frustrating storyline to watch.
They brought it back for the remake.
It did last too long.

I loved and hated this storyline, it just went on tooo many weeks for me... but, the fight scene was hilarious 😂😂
I agree. When they first found out that there was something weird about Krystle they should have made a solution there and then.
There were so many give away signs from Sammy Jo too. She usually spoke for Krystle / Rita something she never did that when the "Real " Krystle was there. The list is long, but as you say: it went on too long.
It was supposed to last the entire season, until the audience rejected it.
I loved sami jo but I couldn’t believe she helped them to put her in the attic then she saved crystal from rita

Yes, it was about this time that i stopped watching the classic "Dynasty" the strange story lines going off the deep end,later when Rita don's the wig and after saying over and over again --"I find your fondness for fondue phenomenal " (ad nauseum) seems to aceive Krystal's haughty voice tone ,it's so hilarious , Blake wound't recognize his own wife ?? pleeeez, then , the worst, replacing Pamela Sue Martin with Emma Samms ? .suddenly, Fallon has brown eyes & a English accent ,give me a break !!
yea i agree, it really was that Moldavian Massacre that killed the show .. when you jump the shark and then the shark actually FOLLOWS you afterwards, that's scary!!

I quite agree, and would add we were supposed to accept the new Amanda, that Blake had a black half-sister and that his dad was still alive. If they had found an actress who looked like Linda Evans and not run the storyline so long it might just have worked, but even then I doubt it.

when i came to ny for thw first time i was 19 and i met an older man in a bar who offered me a place to stay on his livesng room couch, i was like wow people can bw so nice....of fourse i had to pay him with sex for the free bed and drink and food....no one ever does anything out of pure heart...people always want something from you

I absolutely agree. It was difficult and painful to watch the 'Rita' narrative which was ridiculous to begin with . If they were so set on doing this idiotic storyline, why did they string it out so long like they did with the missing Fallon ordeal and then you had to follow both Dynasty and The Colbys Series on her forever disappearance. For what its worth, I feel they should have incorporated the Colbys saga into Dynasty. They already had a good series running at that point so it would've had an instant audience attention. Also, both shows overused their villains idiotic behavior habits to the point of total exasperation.
It did go on a little long, but I enjoyed the Rita storyline

I thought this Rita storyline didn't happen until near the end?
Most dumb storyline. It went on forever with Krystal just locked in an attic and nothing happening. This and Moldavia killed the show.
Nothing my ass. The only storyline in the show which provided genuine suspense.
@Pekka Ollila it started the end of the show. She was kidnapped and the story didn't move an inch for weeks.
Moldova was good. The writers could have done so much with it, but did not. They could have had a coup and Elena is queen, but AManda and Prince Michael move abroad. It could have been like war of the roses.
Whatever happened to Heather Locklear?
She's been working, but has had some alcohol and drug related issues and also interactions with the law. It's a bit sad.

Can someone explain why Sammie Jo is in this plot to kidnap her aunt, then during the fight scene she helps her aunt.
Rita was supposed to give Sammy Jo full access to funds her father Daniel Reece had left her but Krystle was governing.
Later she realised how crazy and wicked the whole plot was and redeemed herself. Which was the beginning of new better and proper Sammy Jo.
This was a ridiculous and boring story. Linda Evans had nothing to work with.
