Billlie is great! You can tell that it's really a passion project for everyone involved. The music videos are always artistic and beautiful, and the lyrics are poetic and often talk about deep topics (for example, a common theme that they explore is the difficulty in truly knowing yourself). Their music has a high level of complexity. As their songs progress lines are sung/harmonized by multiple members, sometimes with random half-rapped lines woven in. They're one of those groups that forms a beat from many different percussive sounds. I also find them to be masters of "the power of suggestion" in music-writing, with subtle changes in between the beats every time the same part of the song comes around -- it really scratches the brain on repeat listens. Probably because of the depth and complexity of their work, I find that I usually am not turned on to their songs until I've listened a few times. Personally, ("subjectively, for my personally tastes") as I've eventually listened to most of their releases several times, they've grown into my current favorite group! Thanks Aaron for the great video as always!
I feel like at first the song didn't have that big of an impact on me, but after i saw a thread on twitter explaining the actual story of the music video / lyrics my perspective completely changed. Now it's one of my fav billlie songs !
