- Joe Sztabnik, who wrote "Poison Heart" with Dee Dee Ramone in August 1989, tells how the original music came to be -- before "music industry" players grabbed the song away.

Thanks for sharing. Incidentally, perhaps coincidentally, maybe it's from exposure to the "original" recording, Joe's voice sounds (definitely twice, distinctly) like Joe's, Jeff's, singing voice.
Happy to hear this. Hope you're all well. Ramones is a story... and you're part of it. Thanks.
Phenomenal piece of real rock history!
I didn't know this history ..maybe because on the credits is only Dee Dee and Daniel rey but now I know the true history and I love it❤...thank you
Great stuff. Thanx for sharing !
Dee Dee Ramoneeeee Bellissimooooo............
It has been speculation that Dee Dee took revenge on Johnny Thunders, copying So Alone intro; as some of you know, Thunders recorded Chinese Rocks, which was written by Dee Dee and Richard Hell, and released under his own name.
He makes it sound too much like so alone and in doing so loses the original melody which is a shame because that beautiful melody is what makes the song. I love the ramones interpretation, dee dee wrote some beautiful songs
This is the original melody. And this is the original DEE DEE version. This is the earliest version ever. The Ramones version came three years later. Well, you like the version you heard first. It's the "original" version from your point of view. That's understandable.
@@RaBob Did Daniel Ray then created Ramones version of the song? Because this sounds like a total different song? And as I can understand some lyrics were also changed.
Stiv Bators' verion also sounds like a Ramones one.

The video is 15 minutes of explanation about the relationship... and it includes the demo recording/song writing recording of Joe Sztabnik and Dee Dee Ramone together actually writing Poison Heart together.
