    21st February 2015
Following scrub clearance, the upgrade of the towpath eastwards to Griffin Mill, and the dewatering of the Bowbridge pound, the restoration of Bowbridge lock is well under way.
Debris and mud from the lock chamber has been removed, and with the offside retaining wall completed, volunteers are working on the lock chamber walls. The concrete weir, installed at the head of the lock by the Trust in the 1970s to put the Bowbridge pound in water, has gone, and the upper wing walls have been repaired.
There are even mooring bollards for lock use above the lock.
Loose and damaged bricks are painstakingly removed and recycled, leaving a solid "dogtooth" of bricks to key into with the replacing bricks and lime mortar.

The restoration of Bowbridge Lock is being shared between Stroud District Council's 'Tuesday & Thursday Volunteers' and teams from the IWA's Waterway Recovery Group.
