Glad to see the fan trending rn haha probably one of the best fans I've yet to try that isn't just outright a leaf blower 😂
I haven't found a better one, but I hear that someone figured out where to get the parts in bulk!
Unfortunately mine died after a couple months of using it >.>
edit: I was able to get a replacement for $62 on Amazon thanks to a Lightning Deal and 15% off coupon and hopefully this one doesn't die after a couple of months.
Edit: it died in a few days
It occurs to me that it would not be at all difficult to disassemble the KiCA fan, separate the nozzle from the handle (which contains the battery), rotate the nozzle 90 degrees, and 3D print a popsicle shaped enclosure for it, thus creating a "knockoff" of one of those cute-suiter fans that is not only much quieter and much more effective but slightly cheaper as well.
UPDATE: after searching the fan's name on UA-cam I have found a video of it being dismantled and it is even more modular than it looks at first. All of the innards can be cleanly removed and the top shaped "T" piece separates nicely from the handle. This seems more than doable although I lack the necessary 3D printer and CAD skills to do it, and a fursuit to test it with.
Might aswell replace the battery with something bigger while you are at it and have more space.
I wouldnd texpect them to last suuper long (to be fair, not only the battery is probably not designed for long-term use)
The idea that there's a fan that requires an app just feels so dystopian.
This is great advice though. I might get one if I can find it in Europe.
It is me! The proto from the end of the video!
My side vent noctuas are not great... The flow direction goes forward into the visor and it greatly restricts their flow! By AC I should have replaced them with blower fans which will move a lot more air
:D Fun fact:
Like my username, I collect fans! Vintage fans, desk fans, ceiling fans, etc.
There's an entire community out there for fans of fans.
I've also 3D printed several fans myself!
Humanity is so diverse and interesting. There is a community for everything 😆
That's fascinating, do you have a favorite portable fan? I know there's communities for stuff like vintage vacuums and the history of all these things we take for granted is pretty crazy.
@@Kite My favorite portable fan is my radio fan, which I haven't made a video of yet. It has a flashlight and a Bluetooth speaker in it.
My favorite fan in my entire collection is the Canadian tire 12" table fan from the 1970's
Wow---if there's a soul I've encountered who can answer this question for me, it's you:
Have you ever heard of fans that draw air up into someone's long sleeves? I'm asking because my frog-sona is inspired by Jeremy Fisher from the Beatrix Potter books, and he was wearing a raincoat (which Potter called a "mackintosh" in the narration), so my costume is going to be a rainsuit, and those are only _slightly_ more breathable than space suits. So I was thinking of making (or buying) some fans to give me ventilation up the sleeves of the jacket, but I don't know if those even exist!
@@Alexthefancollector I'd been thinking a Sunon fan; those can be around a centimeter across. I learned about them on a video called "The smallest fan you can buy - (PWJ97)".
I looked up Noctua, and their fans seem to only go as small as 4cm across; that might not fit.
That said, thanks for the information!
But...does me asking about this in a youtube comment constitute prior art as far as patents go, I wonder...?
I saw starberry dream in the intro! Great video!
0:57 i did NOT see that coming
As an IT guy for friends and family, and a fur who thinks the best way to liven up a slow afternoon is to sift through my literal bags and bins of old PC parts and what-have-you (I have all sorts of bits and bobs and greeblies from all sorts of places, no joke) and throw together a computer build with what I have on hand... the NMB-MAT blower fan from a Dell Optiplex GX280 is basically a miniature air thruster. There's a little green blob under a panel -- put a bit of wire around its leads or something, to short it out, and the fan will 'stick' on its highest speed, because that green blob is a temperature-based speed self-regulator thingy. (Technical: it's a component called a thermistor, a temperature-sensitive resistor. As things heat up, it conducts more; as things cool off, it conducts less.)
You need to be able to feed it a LOT of power -- about 30 watts instantaneous -- it's rated 12v 2.6a. (Can't get _that_ out of a couple AAs -- if you can heft it, use one of those "sealed lead acid" batteries they put in so-called uninterruptable power supplies sold by eg APC and CyberPower; they're about ~4-1/2 lbs heavy -- oof! -- but they're only us$25ish if you buy at Walmart.) That said, at that speed and power, you may as well call it Pratt And Whitney because it moves air like a freakin jet engine ;3
If you're wanting one, hit up fleaBay and search (without quotes!) for "BG0903-B049-P0S" (all "0"s are zeroes), and don't buy anything that says "from China" in the results, or has the price in italics. Should run you $15-20 here in the States :3 wiring is easy -- red to red, black to black. While you're at Walmart getting that battery, dip into the Automotive section, get a switch rated for at least 3 amps (12v 3a -- ALL automotive wiring is 12v!) and drop that on the red wires as your power switch. Any extra wires (usually there's a white, sometimes an extra fourth one as well), cut them short, but so that they don't touch each other, and leave them unconnected to everything.
The Kica definitely looks great for cooling off, but ooofff the loudness could probably annoy some people. I'd probably use it for a few seconds at most for a quick cool off. I'd also like for it to at least have some kind of necklace so it's not easily lost. The cheaper fans are definitely nice in a pinch, my only issue is the one I have feels slightly bulky and weighty so I just stuff it in my pocket until I need it. One thing is for certain, you will make fursuiters friends fast with any of these.
Yeah, it's certainly not something you keep running all the time. I generally use it 30 seconds at a time to rapidly cool off.
I would rather pass out than disturb people around me
@@caduguardrailkingowo you passing out would be a bigger disturbance than a kind of loud fan
sweet video ! ive been running with fans since 2006, the kind i use is a 70mm cpu fan with the screw holes grinded off and i wedge it in my mouth of the fursuit, then i have that running to two 7.2v rc car batteries. i can control the speed with a little knob on the fan. once you have had a fan . you never go back :)
Awesome video. That jetfan will definitely be on my list to buy. Currently, I have the 30 dollar ones from FursuitSupplies. Love the info and video. Keep up the awesome job and hope to catch ya in the next con.
2:33 SO LOUD, Dang! 🙀🙀 I couldn't even hear you properly, but I loved this video anyway. Thank you very much for making me happy 🦋
That one 1️⃣ was at AWU 2023.
@@emily91303 Yep 😸😸
I probably would have done it differently in the future, but I think it gets the point across
@@Kite Sure, I Can't wait To Watch It. This is going to be really cool 💜
I had conceptualized an awesome ducted dual blower system for my head... but now I'm thinking I want a kemono style head instead, which isn't going to fit both fans in the muzzle 😭
I have a kemo style head and I just have the smaller noctuas in my muzzle. Works well enough just to get some airflow going.
This is a GREAT video Kite. Educational and interesting.
Onto the wishlist it goes! Honestly, I really dug this style of video! Informative style is something I just jive with.
Glad you enjoyed it!
4:48 when your dentist is a furry
The Kica jetfan stopped working for me after a few uses. I got another one and it also stopped working for me after a few uses. I got a mini one that is less powerful for $13 and i'll see if it also stops working after a few uses.
@@ashkitt7719 I'm still using mine, I hope you got a refund since that sounds defective
@@Kite Both were defective. I should try to return it. One is past the return window I think though.
0:12 Starberry and Wereric make a cameo in this scene 🎬!
They sure do! It was nice to meet them
Who was that at 3:56? That suit is amazing!
bought the KiCA fan per your recommendation, and I can confirm it's some good and powerful stuff!
Someone should make mini saxophone fans but blows wind in your fursuit. That would be cool
LOL I was there at FWA, and saw the dude with the bubble butt
It was starberry 😮
I love the suit with the Dr Pepper shirt ❤
YO! What is that fan/blower at 0:40?
This video was extremely helpful altough I think i might be good with just a cheap one with my current "fursuit"
omg that dr pepper fursuit looks SOOOO good
This video really was informative i was looking for a fan for my fursuit before heading to AC but hopefully i can get one at the dealers den i want one of those desert themed ones
If you're looking in terms of performance, I would honestly just get a cheap one off Amazon rather than pay inflated prices at the dealers den
Those are some cool fans. 😎
I love that the fans look like vapes for furries lmao
JET FAN IS AN INVESTMENT
It really is, it's fantastic for rapid cooling
Do you have any data on EZ COOL ice vests?
I've used them before and own one. I found them disappointing because after 2 hours they start to trap heat. They're great for small bursts of fursuiting, but not endurance wear. You have a timer in which they start being a negative to wear, which isn't bad if you aren't endurance suiting for hours at a time.
@@Kite Awesome. Thanks for taking the time to so quickly answer my question. Love your work. 💯👍😺
They do what they need to do quite well, it's just that don't expect to have them cool for more than 2 hours before you need to desuit.
You going to Puebla Mexico
not Ganna lie it takes me to fns a day when its summer and im suiting
are you going to Anthro Weekend Utah again?
Not this year
have you watched Rimba Racer yet KITE if so what's your favorite character
Are you coming to denfur?
Not this year
This was a very helpful and informative video! Have a nice day, internet stranger :3
Thanks! You too! Glad it was helpful!
Cool

Good fan!
The best!
Lol that calvin is such a roit
please turn down or change the music next time, great video, great voiceover but upbeat EDM music with vocals easily clashes with your voice and the audio becomes very messy making it very difficult to listen.
Heat just doesn’t effect me as much idk why
Depends on the suit and the suiter, for sure
Im an angel with a shotgun
