I've had my eye on this kit for awhile. It almost has everything you need. I was really disappointed when I saw it doesn't have allen wrenches. Got to have those for the gas block and trigger guard.
Their customer service is among the best. I ordered a kit, one of the buckles was jacked up, I emailed them and they overnighted a new one, no questions asked. I've done 3 assemblies in the past 2 months and the kit has been perfect. I use a different torque wrench and geissele gas pin punches, but this kit is definitely of great quality.
I had bought almost all these tools, when this kit came out...😭. But I highly recommend there tools. Most all of them are multi taskers, well made and very well designed!
Picked this up for $180, haven’t used it yet but from many reviews it seems to have everything you need. Got an upper receiver block to make it easier to lap the uppers separately though.
I was an armorer in the USMC (2111) and worked on thousands if not tens of thousands of M16’s. There were only a handful of M16 specific tools. Most of them were not even daily use. I think my most used tools were pin punches and a small brass hammer. As I watched this video I was struck by the fact that the same thought kept entering my mind: “ahhh that’s neat and could be handy.” If you have money to burn and space to store this kit, I guess go for it.
Good video. A couple things of note. The bench block has a magnetized bottom so when you punch out a roll pin it doesn’t go flying. It sticks under the bottom. Also the twisty thing on the bench block is for the ejector instead of the extractor. The reaction rod upper holder has three pins in the red cap. The center one is used just as explained in the video but the two on the other side are also removable and are placed into the holes on the flat part so you can position the upper in any direction in the vice. The lower vice block is the best one I’ve seen yet. When it’s tightened in the mag well it holds it solid. There is not “slop”. A couple things that would have made the kit better get rid of the “D” ring tool and add some crows feet for other barrel nuts and a breaker bar, get rid of two of the plastic picks and add a couple metal ones, add a couple common hex wrenches for gas blocks and hand grips etc, change out the cheap torque wrench for a click type, and add a spanner wrench, also add a gas block alignment tool. Otherwise it’s a great kit. Wait for it to go on sale. Usually runs around $250, got mine by joining a buyers club and with a 10% discount I got it for $150.
1 thing I love about your channel is you show good stuff. The only problem I have is when it comes to tool I will say " I don't know what it is or what it's for but I need it". I get myself in trouble all the time for that
Great review! I've got the mag well block and the bench block, they worked out phenomenal on my last build. Really like the thought and engineering that went into their tools, pretty in disposable tools.
That's a nice looking kit. I'm so glad it comes with its own suitcase. 🤣🤣 man thats a lot of stuff. Then again you really don't realize how much stuff you need to build a rifle
This kit works great i used it for my fist build it has everything you need and it comes with great instructions the hammer wrench works great a good deal
Great kit, exact one I use, def a lot of stuff you don’t typically “need” but I love how convenient it is and the only need would be a screwdriver for your grip and a vise. 😎 (oh and possibly a specific Allen wrench depending on your build)
The pivot pen tool, is a godsend, i shit you not. 🤣 its simple, but so helpful when it comes to installing that, fucking master of hide and go seek, pivot pen and spring.
3 things they should add to that kit. 1. head space go no go checkers. 2. a tool to install and remove gas rings without damaging them. 3. a steel cap for the hammer
When I first started I had to buy each part separately because this kit was always sold out. I may still pick it up even though I already have most of the parts because I can not find a good armor wrench.
Same here. Have almost everything thing in the kit bought individually over time. Everything works well and has held up. Except the picks, they break real easily.
Not trolling at all. I really want one of these but I built my last AR with a couple hand tools and a castle nut wrench I found in a cleaning kit. Every time I think about buying this I buy gun parts instead.
Very nice kit, but they are forgetting a big area in modern ARs and that would be the gas block! A couple things that come to mind is a tool lining up the gas port as well as a tool for dimpling.. Other than that the kit is almost perfect!
I was just looking at something like this over the last few weeks don't know if it's the same kit but it was 299 everywhere I looked I'll have to write the name of this one down and go see..... is one of those roll pins punches flat on one side

Build an AR, just dont strip the bolts and put all the legos togeather. Build an AK, buy a 20 ton press, rivit and weld and pin and hammer and drill and tap..... Huge differences
The punches work great on any pins they fit and the torque wrench can be handy. Hammer wrench is a bit heavy and bulky for most of the gunsmithing we do

The kit does not contain everything you need. You will at the very least need a set of hex keys, if for nothing else other than the grip screw depending on the build. Also, there is no either/or for polymer vs nylon. Nylon IS a polymer, and most "polymer" you will encounter in firearms is a nylon. There is no specific material that is "polymer". It is not a material that exists on its own. A polymer is a type or class of materials that includes everything from Jello to the nylon on your rifles and maybe the soles of your shoes. You can call them polymer to make yourself feel better about having plastic on a rifle if you want, but its still plastic.
