👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Yep. Handtooled leather purses are good sellers on etsy
Love the handbag
That handbag looks like it was made in Mexico. I used to buy them at the street markets when I was young. I also suspect she worked in a lab as I own a couple of microscopes too. They bring about good memories.
My favorite part of this video is that you’re so respectful of the lady that had this unit.
You’ll also make a decent profit. A $10 unit yields way more than some of them that cost more than 10x that amount.
Way to go, Rene!
Great locker. Definitely a story behind that locker. I wish her well also. I have 24 years of recovery. It is possible.
Congrats on the 24 years Stacey!!
@@PaperandMoose Thanks! So far I have 1 year and 9 months with out a cigarette!
Stacey McGhee hi lovely lady. I’m also in recovery and doing well. Been without a cigarette or any nicotine for one year and eight months.
Congratulations on your success. Not an easy road. But definitely better than the road prior. Blessings and continued success
I'm on 8 + years.
18:30 Thats a 1 year serenity coin. A great accomplishment for the recovering addict or alcoholic. God speed for them and the sick and suffering one..
Good leap for you! It is a manageable lot. Nice purse, chair, 2 microscopes, cig machine, i like the salt and pepper set! Probaby an older lady who smoked and gambled and who may have served time and may have or had cancer and kept the posters from work when they were changed and was studying religion, and was in recovery. God bless her. You did good, Renee!
Makes her sound like a very real and quiet interesting person.
That was so much Fun!! Definitely $10.00 Worth!!
I have no idea how you find the time for all your adventures but thx Renee, you rock.
So proud of you for getting your feet wet buying your first storage unit, hopefully many more to come. I loved the video! Excited every time you opened up something. I thought what a good deal, all for $10!
Renee, perfect locker for you! Ephemera in real life 3D. You brought 'her' out while reviewing her memories. Thank you for the trip. Hope she's well, and happy.
Thank you for the nice comment! I have a feeling that this woman made it out okay, she seemed well put together and ready to move on to a better chapter in her life.
Good for you stretching out and buying a locker. You will make your money back for sure. So happy you got one,!
I admire your ability to be so sensitive about going through the belongings. Some great finds , won’t be long before you can do this full time😃👍🏻
That's your money back just in the chair.😊
You made your 10.00 back in just cleaning supplies. That was really good for 10.00. That salt shaker and pepper grinder looked like they were real silver. That’s probably why they were wrapped to keep from getting scratched up. You did really good on your first unit. Stay safe and God Bless
Hi. If not silver (and I question that just because of the look, I am thinking really good stainless.) they are Italian made items and well worth whatever you get. Check them out online because I am guessing at least 40.00 USD. Boy the Italians make beautiful items.
I like the way you did this, good pace and just enough info. Good luck selling on at the flea market.
Look on the tongue of the sneakers to find the model number. Googling the number will let you know if it's rare or not.
I have definitely seen those purses from $20-$40 on Etsy if it is vintage.
Yep. I would buy that purse off of her for 5 bucks and turn around and sell it for $45-50 in my Etsy shop. 😎🤓😬
I agree, it looks vintage from 70's. Worth waaay more than $5!
I used to make them. It's fun doing leather tooling. Yeah, it's not a garage sale item at all. I wish I still had the tools but you should get ALOT more selling that online
I came here from Taco Stacks channel, was catching up on a few of his videos I missed. I like the way you went through this storage unit, you showed up pretty much everything, slowly enough so we could actually see it, and you showed respect to the previous owner. Thank you for that, so many younger people doing these videos don't stop to think about what the previous owner might be going through.
Glad you found the channel! Storage units can be a hit or miss with viewers, as some people have strong feelings on whether or not buying a storage unit is fair/moral. I see it as a way to be able to "save" the items and get them back out to be re-used, as we know that the storage facility would just end up dumping everything into the trash.
I looked it up : Pennsylvania Correctional Industries makes things to sell also (but you have to be an approved buyer) from their website : "......that are available for sale to non-profit organizations and government entities located throughout Pennsylvania." But the rest of the things in the locker add up to a picture of someone who perhaps had been an inmate themselves.
Congrats on your first storage locker! Great score for $10.00! You should do well at the flea market! I always love your excitement while you are going through your new found treasures! ☺ 👍 👏
Loved watching you go thru the storage unit! I hope you will do it again! I'm a fan reguardless the treasures!
Thank you!
Congrats on your first locker! I recently subscribed and I love look forward to your videos! I like the way you respectfully go through items and you also don’t pack on a ton of ads. Aloha & Mahalo!
Aloha! Glad you found the channel and that you enjoy it!
CONGRATS!!! On your 1st locker! You made a killing on your $10.00 locker!! The Antique Horsehair chair is a beauty and should sell quite HIGH! The S& P Shakers are very nice. Several pairs of nice shoes and most importantly the nice lot of cleaning supplies. The vintage tooled leather bag should sell for around $50 on eBay . We never know where we will find you next!!! The way that you are branching out, you are on a great start making this a full time job. But we can make sure that you will be very respectful of the person that had the locker. I wonder with the tan leather shoes was she was in prison OR worked there???
What a great person you are Rene... I really wish that person well and hopefully they're in a much better place today... Nice find's in the locker... Stay safe...👍💕🔥⚾😷
I love how respectful you are of the person who once owned those belongs.
Great job! This is what my wife Jeana and I do for a living. Never gets boring.
My first unit & only $10, not too bad! Hoping to buy more in the future!
You are so sweet with all your positive thoughts towards the old owner.
You can take those prescriptions to a pharmacy to have them dispose safely.
Why am I feeling so anxious? It’s like reading a suspenseful mystery novel. What an interesting collection of stuff. Almost afraid of what’s next. Lol
Very interesting video!! Thank you for being so respectful to the former owner. You should easily make your $10 back & this locker was a great one to get started in that way!! The purse was really cute & retro 😊
The purse was a great find... so were the Nike sneakers :0)
You can roll other types of "cigarettes" with that machine. Happy 420 yall
Yes and in the same bag as that tea. Perhaps it’s not actually tea?
@@juliebrooke6099 it's not for everyone but the not tea does make a decent hot beverage, just saying
Stay safe
That leather purse was very popular in the early to mid seventies! I know, I had one! ✌🏼❤️
"Let me tell you how the 2020 turned out"...LOL. That was the perfect Llocker for your first. 👍
Might have been a prison employee
Yea really bad..pandemic,earthquakes omg ...quarentine ufff☹☹😩
At your flea market will people buy the partially used cosmetics and cleaning supplies? Nice show. As a former social worker your kindness towards the original owner and her problems were noted and appreciated.
Cosmetics will be a no, as such things as eyeshadow/compacts wouldn't be sanitary to re-sell. The shampoos I will donate to the local shelter, as they will be able to use them.
Not during COVID lol
That cigarette rolling machine cost $40-$60 nice score on that alone... The antique horsehair chair on castor's just put you way in the profit... Well done Rene... Stay safe...👍💕🔥⚾😷
Loved hearing the excitement in your voice while you went through your treasures !
(Formally AussieJen61) I think there is a really interesting story behind that locker. The chair is beautiful. ❤🐨
Can you imagine being at home and watching this and saying “yeh that’s my unit”.....lol!
Renee, I can tell when you go through other people's belongings you feel respect for them as humans. There is always history behind ordinary objects. It's touching our souls. ,💖
Well done we all have to start small 🇬🇧
For $10 you couldn't go wrong. Great locker for your first one. I'd love to do that. Another story line too. She seems so well organised, so I hope she went on to better things and left that part of her life behind her. At least you've got her things and they will go on to new homes and have a new lease of life. I love that chair. So pretty and old with those castors. Nice find and thank you so much for sharing this experience with us x
Hiya Renee, this was bittersweet finding that she was incarcerated, the info on cancer, then all the kids stuff. I’ve concocted a story in my head (Oy my imagination!) and it’s sad. However I’m glad you got your feet wet with a $10 locker! That chair, flip locally, maybe Facebook marketplace? It’s an antique from around the turn of the century, looks to be Eastlake in style (couldn’t see enough details, “Herter Brothers” is a very good name), the upholstery looks to be in excellent condition, the stuffing should be horse hair. The style has gotten quite expensive in the NE, even if you got $50-$100 it’d be a steal for someone! Price high, take best offer. Tooled leather handbags sell incredibly well online. I’d say that one would sell easily for $40 as it’s in great shape! I’d put the microscopes online since so many people switched to home schooling; the public schools are on crazy schedules you might as well home school! (Wish I’d home schooled.) The rest, flea market, unless you found good comparable prices that’ll bring a good price online! Have a lovely day! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️

I am hoping that the recovery coins were a silver lining in this woman's story. She did seem very put together, so I have hope that she made it and just simply moved on with her life, wanting to leave these items behind. You'll never know, but I'm glad that I was able to save these items - such as the chair - and give them a chance to be enjoyed again!
Hi Jet! I also have a picture going on in my head of someone who had a tough life, was in the correctional institute and maybe got a job at McDonalds after. Then had cancer. Maybe (sad to say) passed away and that is why her stuff was left. And that chair was her one treasured possession maybe a family heirloom. It is very pretty! It does look like Eastlake! That is the prize in that locker. Definitely worth the $10. Way to go Renee!
@@PaperandMoose try searching for her on facebook or even googling her name to see if she's doing well now.
I do think that chair was Eastlake. One of my favorite styles. Interesting story that unfolded. I see many others created a story as you uncovered items. So interesting. Who cares if you make money! For $10, it’s great entertainment! Not even equal to a movie and popcorn 😂
This adventure became more about the previous owner’s narrative then about the actual stuff left behind. What would We leave behind in a storage locker if adversity struck us?
If the wipes have dried up, just add some water to the bottom of the container, the wipes will suck it up & rehydrate ... they're still good
Thanks for saying. I didn’t know they would rehydrate. Just found some in my storage.
You are very polite and respectful in all of your videos. Your on camera presence very natural. Not easy talking and making dialogue and shooting video all at the same time.
Hi Renee, what's up with band-aid? Love your vids!!!
I found this all rather sad. I hope the lady recovered from her ailment. I thought you had some respect for the content of this locker but I sensed you felt it quite sad too Renee.
I was more concerned about finding the cancer booklet. You always hope that the person would have had a friend/family member that could have stepped in for assistance, but sometimes that is not the case. It is the same story with estate sales - we do not know why the family/close friends did not choose to keep items, we can only be glad that we are able to move the items on to another person/home so that they can continue to be used and appreciated. Heck, I was excited about finding a whole container of Q-Tips! Haha
I am so glad that you were the person to get her locker. What a caring soul you are.
@@carolgleeson8743 I agree - that is what I thought too - Renee was the right person
@@PaperandMoose Thank you so much for your reply - I know, it was the cancer booklet that mad me feel so sorry for the lady. Her carefully packed life in that container - I wonder if she made it. We call them cotton buds in the UK - although I have yet to be excited by any ;o)
@@camaberdeen694 My guess is she didn't make it which is why the unit was up for sale
Bigger storage unit does not mean it will have better things. Good things come in small packages.....
I loved this ! So fun it wasn’t so overwhelming for your first locker ! You made your money back easy !🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
That chair is amazing!
You crack me up though...getting so excited by the cleaning supplies!😂.
.believe me, I get that too!
The salt shaker and pepper grinder looks like it may be sterling. Check before you sell it.
That's what I was thinking as well.
Yeah, I was like wait! Look at them again!
Yeah, hopefully she did her research there. Could be worth a nice chunk of change!
The hand tooled leather 1970s
“ flower child “ bag sells for way more than $5.00 -
Was going to write the same thing. That's an $80 bag.
It’s far out And groovy 🤩
@@Ashley-ku7is Yes! Follow @therecycledlife - They could turn that bag for $60 -80 EASY!!
Blue Girl love those gals - almost everything they pick up
yes definitely!!!
Hi Renee, kinda sad, when people leave their belongings behind
I looove that chair!
Congratulations Renee! Thanks for sharing with us. Hopefully, the lady has had better luck in life. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
I like how your videos are real not like others that stage items for viewers to click their videos . Thank you
Congratulations on your first unit! I think you did pretty well. Looking forward to seeing you get more, and sharing them with us. Have a great day.
Oh my, that was my couch in the very first locker. Loved that couch.
Well, Jeremy from What the Hales!? missed out on that Nature Valley snack bar!
Congratulations 🎊 on your first storage unit. You did well for your first time. I wish I were closer I could use the shopping cart & I really like that purse but I'm in Southern Ohio. Oh well. You just made another step toward your goal of being self employed doing what you 💘 & what makes you happy 😊. Here's hoping 2021 is your year. Let's keep those trash bags & videos coming.🙏💖
Your sensitivity, discretion and compassion are commendable. You're a lovely person.
Thanks for taking us along. A fun video.🙋
Wow! That was fun , I hope you do more videos of buying storage units! Good scores.
You are so respectful to this woman and her unit. Speaks volumes ❤
The purse with the painted embossed flowers looks like it could have come from the 70’s. I have a belt that is very similar that I had since high school (72-76).
I had a similar purse in high school, same era. Definitely worth more than $5, Miss Renee; vintage is costly.
Great job, Renee. Very well presented. That was the perfect size (and price) unit for you. Good stuff too!
Congrats on your first unit. Look forward to more adventures.
I’m sure there’s a market for the McDonalds posters. On the whole this unit isn’t going to make you a millionaire but there’s definitely a decent profit there.
The second microscope is from the late seventies. I have that one.
Not bad for your first try. Slow and steady wins the race. Thank you for sharing your new adventure!
Love your enthusiasm as you go thru the storage unit. I think you definitely made your money back and more.
Wow! Turned out to be a good deal! Thank u for sharing ur storage unit reveal with us Renee!!!!!
The chair is Eastlake Style, circa 1870s to 1890s. It looks great.
I loved it! Can't wait till the next one Renee. You have some good stuff in there. Hugs to you sweet lady.. Stay safe. OHIO
Thanks for sharing and caring! Stay Safe!
Right off the bat I like the chair,...love refinishing
That color purple is sooooo gorgeous. I mean the bag.
How exciting! I think you did terrific! Not much trash.👍
Good to see you out of your "comfort" zone. Can't wait for the next one.
Renee,
So many wonderful, helpful comments, nothing I can add but that the price was right.
Good luck with future lockers.
Cheers,
Rik Spector
Renee you did great on your first locker! You crack me up but i totally get excited over free cleaning and household products at estate sales, so i completely get your happiness over simple things you can use and not have to buy. Loved the video! That full time job of picking, selling and flea/online sales is getting closer and closer 👍♥️🙂
A cigarette machine? May want to make sure that tea is really tea!
Yes, the grinder with dish, the tea canister, and the cigarette machine would probably be for something other than tobacco in California.
Exactly what I thought, but pretty certain Renee would've smelled the difference.
Those look like Colorado cigarette tools. Hahaha...might want to check out the tea and be sure that it's tea.
Carol C - I was thinking the same, especially w/ the cancer info. Oh my now I have a sadder story in my head😢. J. XXX 😘🧡😻😻
I've had one at an estate sale I held - no one wanted it.
I'd say you can easily make your 10 bucks back and then some. Nice way to get the feet wet
Wow!! Great work, Renee, in telling his story!!
So much fun! It was great to go through the locker with you. There's some cool stuff in there you did good!
That's cool it will help you in every way! A win win I love it!
Thank you bunches.. Learning new things. 😊😊☕☕
That was brilliant,enjoyed that.
That was fun! It was great seeing someone do a first unit and one that wasn't too big. Hope you make good money at the flea market with some of those items. :)
Wow what a great 1st storage unit for you. Great finds love the purse. ❤️
Those are so much fun. Glad you only spent 10.00 but like you said you got your money back. You have some good finds to sell.
Looks like a win to me! That salt and pepper grinder set was super nice!
Glad to see that you got a storage unit, and found somethings you can use!😊
Chair is Beautiful
Thanks for showing the bidding process, that was really interesting to see! 😊😊
What a deal on the locker!! I like that purse. Tfs have a good day.
The items tell a story about the previous owner. The blue bag that has Family Promise on it is an organization that helps the homeless, the shoes from a prison, the cancer pamphlets, the Mac Donald’s posters may have been her job, maybe children. Losing her storage so much struggling for one person.
Certainly good for 10 bucks , very nice old chair and a good leather bag decorated ,Great watching and , I too wish the lady well and good health must of falled on hard times at some part . Enjoyed watch so thank you Paper an Moose.
Congrats on your first storage unit hope you do well.out of it. And as you said hope the previous owner is in a good place right now. Greetings from Ireland
Hi, thank you, a great video, your empathy to the previous owner of the item was truly heart warming
You got some good things for the flea market and should make your money back and some profit easily.
In my opinion the old chair looked fantastic and could be sold as is or maybe as a restoration project for yourself or somebody else, it depends on what work it needs under the upholstery fabric, it might need new webbing and maybe springs etc. I have upholstered a few chairs myself ( self taught) over lockdown, they turned out well, upholstery is a great thing to get into, especially with your flair and eye for colour and design.
The chair would look great upholstered in leather ( Blue Bus Dave seems to have lots of leather in lots of colours) and just a dark wax for the wood, bringing it back to the original finish, sorry rambling on 🤣, just an idea.
Take care and be safe
Sam
That was so much fun. I believe you did great. Hope you can buy another cheap unit again soon. Thanks for sharing.
I hope so too!
Hi Renee lovely video, hope the lady is at a better place now, see you in the next one 😊😊😊
Renee your so funny.... Ohhh Q-tips! Lol.
I wouldn't have cared if that whole bag would have been filled with Q-tip containers. I would have been stocked for years!
Paper and Moose I understand 😊
@@PaperandMoose Renee, the $60 Unit I bought last month had 3 brand new packages (each pkg equals 48 rolls) of Scotts toilet paper. I won't have to buy toilet paper... for HOW MANY years? They were shown right on top of a tote and made me so curious. Stuff you found you can use at Home... saves money. Paper towels disinfectant wipes.... all stuff you don't have to buy now. Practically good as cash.
*BTW-that same $60 unit had 5 Silver dollars (3 going back to around 1880 ) 40 silver quarters (some silver dimes) and various( 5 or 6 ) Franklin Mint type silver collectible coins and a 1 troy ounce bar of silver. AND the brand new Sony Cybershot camera and case he paid $359 for.
Those $10 -$60 units can be as exciting as ones going for $300-$500.. Instant profit and NO Risk.
