The Rotary Club of Las Vegas was formed on February 23, 1923, and chartered on April 5, 1923. The founders met in the Chocolate Shop at 203 Fremont, which now is a part of the Golden Nugget. Les Saunders, who came here from Southern California to take over as manager of the Chamber of Commerce, sowed the seed. Seventeen others joined him to form the club’s charter membership.

When I realized he wasn't being very funny here, I doubted I would watch the whole video, but I did. What a kind, good, gentle man.
Amen
What an awesome Dad. Alcoholic but super kind to worse off people that's awesome. I knew Louie was a great person
I absolutely love Louie Anderson!!😍😍😍😍❤️
Louie is such a genuinely nice caring person!
Tremendous admiration for Louue. I laugh and I cry. I feel his pain because I can relate especially with regard to the forgiveness of his dad
I am a fan Louie ,I am 68 years old been a fan from.the beginning, thanks for all the laughter .
"Momm, Louies looking at me." (I wish)! RIP Louie. A dear sweet soul. Loved him .
This man is such a beautiful soul. While most celebrities help people because of PR, Louis has been there so he wants to do whatever he can, whether people know about it or not.
Not the celebrities I know. They're all nice my Dad was a famous publicist and he worked on many awesome movies including the Sound of music. The Sting ect
We knew the cast of Sound of music ECT. Two of the cast members came to my Dad's funeral my Dad was a great father
Don't know why cried so much listening to this.
Yes, Louie is just so authentic here. A good man, a life well lived. Many gifts to us all from the pain, the loyalty, and the divine goodness that comes from our mothers.
RIP Louie Anderson Jan 2022 , great man & comidian
Louie is so comfortable in his own skin! Love his observational commedy!
Louie we've always loved you.
Thanks for opening up to us too.
You never would've guessed just how humble and compassionate of a human being he was just by watching him on Family Feud. Bless him and RIP
WOW! What a great message.
God bless Louie.
WOW - ABOLUTELY AMAZING - LOUIE WAS A TRUE HUMANITARIAN WHO WORE HIS HEART ON HIS SLEEVE!!!!!!
Louie was a truly good person and a great and very funny story teller.
RIP Louie you will be missed.
Louie Anderson made me cry =) Bless this man.
How about now?......what a great guy❤😭
@@PahaPoniesSpanishMustangs I've been thinking about this. Was going through things with my dad.. Louie was great at reminding us that family can be outright maddening at times but still remain dear. I found out that he also counseled children early in his career.
I’m glad everyone stood for him at the end. So honest and inspiring
I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS LOVED LOUIE I'M A VERY GOOD JUDGE OF CHARACTER. EVEN THOUGH WE'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO JUDGE I CONSIDER HIM A FAMILY MEMBER WHOSE IN HEAVEN
Me to 😪
I just wish he'd felt able to come out, but clearly it would have ruined the "family friendly" niche he carved for himself.
@@rah62 As what? This is
a person at ease as a person in himself.
@@deliawright8626 Hon, he was gay as the day is long. I'm sure you know about the hush money he paid to a man to keep his gay sexual encounters quiet.
I love this guy - even more now than before I watched this video. Thank you for sharing - and, thank you to Louie for the years of entertainment - and, realizing so many needs in the world and giving back.
you got it!
I have always had a soft spot for him. He is a gentle soul.
Such a fine human being!
He's such a sweetheart! Probably just like his mom.
A most pleasant autobiography. Louie paid his dues. He's gone now, but his life's work reminds us of a man whose gentle spirit to the end deserve some emulation.
Louie was a generous person. I know of a few comedians that give back to their community in this way. It is a very heartwarming to know there are people in this world that have a clear view of how our world works. Louie, you have performed your service with the grace and style to which many people aspire. RIP
Louie has such a great soul.
This entertainer is so honestly engaged in every performance...we are all much better off for his beautiful, sweetly sharing life!
“Service is for someone else... If there’s conditions to service, it’s selfish, not service.” Many people go through their whole lives without learning this truth. God bless Louis Anderson.
How is service selfish. Are u old enough to remember the Barter System. Yesss some people are selfish but when u are terminally ill and u still help someone and they help you it's different
@@rebeccaatkinson4531 The barter system is great!! :-) From my understanding, bartering is a mutually agreed upon arrangement where the 2 parties exchange things that the other party needs, and then both parties go away happy.
I got the impression that this is different from the kind of arrangement Louie was specifically referring to in his speech, though. I think Louie was saying that if you give a gift with strings attached and do not state those expectations up front with the recipient, then that isn't fair to the recipient. It is perfectly okay to do in certain circumstances, as long as you are upfront about it when you are giving the item or the service to the other person. (For example, "I'm giving you this dress that I can no longer wear, but if you don't end up using it, then I'd like it back in order to give to another friend I had in mind/to keep it in my closet for nostalgic reasons." or "I'd like for you to have this necklace as a gift since you are officially a part of the family, (I'll pretend that the recipient just married the giver's son), but if this jewelry isn't to your personal taste, then please return it to me, because it is a family heirloom that I would like to keep in the family.") I think Louie was saying that giving with unspoken strings attached missed the whole point of what giving is supposed to be about: giving shouldn't be done for personal recognition, or with the expectation of getting something in return. It should be because you want to do something kind and with the self awareness that you aren't expecting anything back.
And if you can't do that, for whatever reason, (for example, needing the $ or food or whatever it is to properly take care of yourself and your family, or, knowing that if you do give to somebody else, you will be hurt later on if that person doesn't give you something in return- and I've experienced both of those situations, most of us probably have) then I just want to say that it is also totally okay to make the choice to not give. :-) Giving is wonderful, and whenever you are in the position to give, I personally think it is a wonderful thing to do. But you also are not a bad person if you chose not to give or are not in a position to be able to give.
I sure will miss Louie.
No. He has a foundation that is going to build a house or houses for the homeless. That's selfless that's why he needs partners like Habitat for Humanity. I don't think Louie had a selfish bone in his body. Being terminally ill myself I wish I could say I was always selfless
Sorry misunderstood yessss
@@rebeccaatkinson4531 It's all good and I'm really sorry that you aren't doing well. ❤ I hope that you have people around you to help out and that you are getting everything that you need. People who have illnesses or health conditions are so often overlooked and under-served.
Oh my goodness. I love this man. I have followed his comedy for so many years. This provides such an insight to who he is as a person.
Louie is such a high quality guy! God bless him!!
I've always loved Louie! Really enjoyed getting to know him better. What a nice man!
Louie is one of a kind, a vulnerable sweetness permeates his 'act', really telling stories of his life and his observations of life. Thank you to the Rotorary Club for having him speak, I enjoyed it very much.
Wow!
Louie. Yes I’m talking to you.
Since your death, there is even more of you on my UA-cam notifications.
Then I “like “ one and ten more appear.
You learned so much in your life.
Especially about kindness and service.
Also not hiding emotions. Many people won’t be “emotional “ or ever apologize.
You had tough comedy crowd here and still said everything you came to say.
Thank you. I am now learning more about what a big person you were.
All the politicians in the DC bubble, patting themselves on the back because of all the programs and stuff they “give away, for free”, aren’t worthy to wash out Louie’s shorts. This is a truly outstanding human! A master comic, on top of it all! GOD BLESS YOU, LOUIE!
I identify so much with Louie ! Giving the turkeys!!! High five!!!
You can learn a lot for a comedian. I grew up with this man's cartoon. Love you man!
spot on louie,a gentle soul
Salt of the Earth Louie you are sorely missed right now..
grew up with Louie's comedy and cartoon show love him peace Louie 🙏
Great presentation from Louie
I always wanted to hear Louis back story. A humble beginning and remained so even though he was a top comic of his day.
His story is something else, if you can read that book. It’s sad but hilarious. Nobody asks to be born, you’re just born and you learn as you grow and we all know ‘ it’s not easy sometimes’. Thank God for the good people in your life that love you. He saw some of the humor in it. The stories of his Mom are so funny, the way she would describe food like ‘ a nice sandwich ‘ a nice bowl of soup ‘. Listening to him on this, it made me wonder who was his Dad before he became an adult? Before he got married and had children , where did he come from , what situation did he go through ?
Louie is such a great person! I fell in love with him from the show Baskets- he is one talented, and sweet man. God bless you Louie!
The world would be a better place with more Louie Anderson ' s in it.
Service above self! That was a great speech. Glad I was able to learn more about Louie
Absolutely love anything Louie does...amazing man ....
An incredibly gentle, kind and warm man with the sweetest soul. God bless you, Louie.
You know somebody's from Minnesota, when they say winter in Carson city is not so bad.
I feel like the cameraman is a sniper in his spare time.
Louie is great!
So great to hear how you followed your dream and succeeded 💙
I loved him RIP legend 💔
I knew that Louie's father was an alcoholic but this video showed me that he was able to forgive him. I too have alcoholics in my family and I am going to make an effort to forgive them too. Holding on to the hurt really only hurts me. Thanks Louie for the laughs and the lessons. I miss you.
I’ve been a big fan of his for 20+ years
So down to earth and “real.”
Bless Louie Anderson.
GOD BLESS LOUIE ANDERSON FOREVER
wonderful comedian. greatly missed.
Louie is awesome
yes! ty for the viewing ! subscribe if you can!!!!!
Louie is gone, now....I've spent the days since he passed watching almost everything on Louie....I always liked him and thought he was funny....it's not his funny that I know after watching everything Louie....it's his kindness....his humanity...Rest in PEACE, buddy
Love that Louie
Glad Louie made all of his goals. Congratulations and God bless you. RIP Louie you made it. Something good came out of your family experience. Your story was so interesting and inspiring.
This is all leading somewhere!
Louie has a very bad cold and in spite performs and still does it well. ❤️Louie
What a gentle soul!!
I love his stories (about his family, his background, his weight).
Richard Pryor had sort of the same kind of humor, they talk about their true humble beginnings.
One more... Louie took the Meatloaf home with him! I believe he'd laugh and be ok with my comment. ❤
HERO...BRAVO!!!
I love him so much
I miss him so much he was such a loving caring man he never put or thought that he was above anyone.
He’s such a good storyteller, much love big guy♥️
What a lovely decent man, gentle and funny.

Comedy is best when it speaks truth..
Such a lovely man.

That fish dinner look's so, good!
This a great man who Our Father in Heaven is well pleased!
I cried listening to him but I laughed some too. RIP Louie
Louie was a great human being...
I grew up in Texas. I say the same thing about the heat.
This is great
RIP Louie
Sooooooooooo creative
please fire the cameraman.
Louie Anderson was one of a kind. RIP King
What an amazing man
that he is
He's a great example.
What a precious man....
Too bad there are five thumbs down as this guy has become the standard in standup comedians in this country this day and time. Being decent and funny at the same time should be the style of all entertainers. It’s not hard to do. Louie, many thanks for your example and all the greats laughs.
Actually it IS hard to do, which is why it is rare. It takes more effort
to speak with people with the
presumption they will understand
wit, will have intelligence. Much easier to just be crude and blatant
and have limited expectations.
To be kind is a choice. I am grateful
to have laughed and learned from
this natural, good natured uplifting
man.
Wow, luv this.
Ditto to Jeffery Burnett: Louie is one fantastic guy.
inspirational!
First time l saw this guy was on : Coming to America. He was working at burger MacDowell or something hhhh
Btw, he has usual role not like crowd extras Samuel Jackson, Samuel was crowd artist back then..
I wish you long and healthy life
And continue with all you like to do
*God* bless you 🙏
God bless you
