According to this video, a 10 'British Pound Sterling' bag of heroin contains 3 x as much pure heroin as your average street bag. The average amount of powder in a bag is somewhere around 100mg's, but it's purity is only about 30%, or 30mg's. 30mg's of pure heroin is actually a good dose, and even enough to result in overdose for people with a reduced tolerance. The amount of pure heroin in a bag can be as little as 5mg's, or as high 50mg. Your average, seasoned vet will inject 75 to 150mg's of pure heroin, or 300mg's of powder (100mg heroin + 200mg cut).
And in America your seasoned vet will shoot probably 1000 mg of heroin or a gram maybe even more to get maybe even a little high but that might just be enough to get them well considering most of our shit is cut with fentanyl and so according to the chart that would say fentanyl is 50 times more potent than heroin they might need 5 g of heroin to get high or well I should say

In other words, 30% purity. 30% purity literally means only 30% is "pure heroin". The other 70% is cut. No one is attempting to label the entire thing pure, only it's percentage- you're just not digesting it.
That's crazy! Here in the USA I've only ever seen/heard about people using regular water (just add water to the H & heat it up like in this video minus the acid). Wow very informative. The heroin here in the US doesn't require any solubility enhancers to be added when preparing an injectable solution from it. Ours does look exactly like the powder in the video though. Must be made using a different method or already has citric acid added.

I was reading that it's common to do this in Europe but we never needed to do this in the US even with brown or white powdered heroin. It always seemed to dissolve quickly enough or if it was black tar, you would have to cook it or stir it for a while. Heroin, regardless of grade, is generally described as water-soluble in the US and honestly, I always cook it anyway. I've been clean five years now but I'm curious as to why it's different in Europe.
The stuff in the US comes from mexico and South America whilst in Britain its from Central Asia (Afghanistan mainly), you guys get #4 H (salt form) whereas we get the base form #3. Difference in manufacture and stuff, 4 is generally more pure than 3.

You're getting pure heroin hydrochloride and there is only 3 common types and that's black tar, brown heroin, like in this video, and pure heroin salt like you get. Lucky barstool and most injectors prefer ascorbic acid/vitamin c as it's not as acidic,plus you get your daily dose of vit c..lol

Take it from me, you do not want that life and if you chose to try heroin, it will ALWAYS claim you as its next victim.
If you guys make the sachets, why don't you just put only 20mg of citric acid per sachet? And maybe add some kind of warning, "Only use 20mg per 100mg of diamorphine" or something?
Hi, there's several reasons... there's the practical difficulties of delivering 20mg of anything into a sachet without getting empty sachets, underweight sachets, and sachets with all the powder stuck in the creases, some people need it for snowballs of crack and heroin which would need more citric; and sometimes people are injecting a gram of high purity heroin and the sachet needs to cover all eventualities. There are warnings/information on the sachets to let people know.
This is what we need instead of locking people up, harm reduction and help for those struggling with addiction. Now more than ever when so many people are being effected by this, more and more people are realizing addiction can happen to anyone and that doesn't make a person a bad person but an addict and with the proper help and support you can get your loving family member to the other side of this point in their life. If one could be honest about their drug use it would be so much easier to seek help and you wouldn't have people dying in alley ways and all alone because they could talk about their problem. On top of the black market for drugs is so insanely violent and destructive, people will always use drugs so take at least a large portion of control from the black markets or help them go legit and provide jobs instead of death. I've dedicated a large portion of my life trying to understand this issue and I can't see any other reasonable way to deal with it, everything that's been tried has failed and just ostracized many people that just need help. The president of the Philippines has been encouraging his citizens to kill drug dealers and addicts and they've been doing just that in crazy numbers but you know what, people are still doing drugs!! People make a tea out of it but the concentration of morphine vary so much there's a lot of people who died of overdose... So I don't recommend trying this. In fact, I don't recommend trying any opioids unless your doctor recommend you to take some because you're in too much pain.
This is useful info for those who need it. Much as I personally have a horror of addictive drugs, it's my belief that the war on drugs has been long lost. Addiction should be treated as a social problem, not a criminal one. After all, the tobacco and liquor industries are controlled, so that the user is protected (I don't use those products either). I worked in the Liquor industry in my youth, and the guy from customs and excise was there at least 3 times a week. The same protection should be offered to addicts. I'm not saying one should be able to buy dangerous drugs at the local supermarket, but they should be available to those who take them in as safe a condition as possible and at a reasonable price. I doubt there's a perfect solution, but we could do a lot better than we are at present.

@@stickyfox It's certainly important, but it's also a chemistry 101 reaction/concept. Freebase cocaine to cocaine is the same reaction. Most drugs we take are in salt form. Vinegar and baking soda is this reaction. The type of people to watch either of those two, are very likely to understand neutralization reactions.

It's weird in the United States you don't have to add citric to the heroine. The first time I was in England strung out on heroin on tour with my band. I scored some heroin for the first time. I took it to where I was staying and tried to hook it up and it wouldn't break down. So I thought I got ripped off and threw the stuff away in the garbage can where I was Stan and went to go out and try to find some more stuff that was real. I came across this musician that I know who lives in the area. He took me to the same exact place that I got the heroin from the first time. We go back to his apartment and start cooking it up. And it was the same thing it wasn't breaking down. Then my friend asked me if I needed any citric. I totally didn't know what he was talking about. But then he explained to me what you have to do to the heroin in the United Kingdom and and Europe. So a lot of American junkies who watch this video. They are not going to understand why you even need citric the breakdown the hit of heroin

I used to just take those and squeeze the gel that's in them into a spoon on ADD cold water and they would breakdown fine. After being on tour and England when I was a junkie and found out about having to use citric to break down the heroin. In New York and Washington DC once in awhile I would get this stuff and it would never break down. The people who would snort dope. They would talk about how good this shit was. But if you were a shooter. The quinine or chloroquine which is basically the same as quinine at is the same stuff that is curing covid. That is used for cut and that would be the only thing that would break down. And what would be left in this would be these little brown crumbs that wouldn't break down at all. So after learning about citric. When I got that kind of dope all's I need to basically use was some lime or lemon juice. Cuz also I found out that when you don't have that trick you can use lemon juice or lime and it would work just as well. I had this friend that would shoot cocaine. When he couldn't find cocaine to make a speedball with his heroine. You could always find crack cocaine. He would always use vinegar which is acidic acid one of the processes extracting the alkaloids in the process of making heroin. Back here what use vinegar to break down the baking soda that was into the crack cocaine. Then the second time I was in England on tour with my band. I got high with this one dude and he didn't use the citric because when you did use the citric it was a painful shot. Even if you hit a vein. It still Burns for like a minute. So she would use vinegar instead of citric to break down the heroin that was gas in the United Kingdom and in Europe. Basically all the heroin got you have to use citric is the stuff that comes from Afghanistan. And basically most of the heroine in the West Coast which is black car heroin. Well actually not anymore what they have now it's still black car. That basically it's just a morphine codeine base. When people shoot it now they experienced that feeling of pins and needles. They stink nowadays that if they don't feel that pins and needles that's adults not really that good. But when you are feeling that pins and needles feeling that's because the certain alkaloid hasn't been cooked out which it probably means that it's just a morphine codeine base. It still has several more processes to go through to actually become heroin. Go watch UA-cam video called heroin holiday in the Czech Republic. Watch with those guys do. So all that right now that's in the west coast is coming from Mexico. The stuff on the East Coast. There's about 15% coming from Afghanistan which is basically the same stuff that the United Kingdom and Europe get. But there is one more process done so basically you don't have to use the citric to break it down. Then the other 85% of heroin that came into the East Coast was coming from El Salvador and surrounding countries. It was weird being a jockey in a band and touring the world sampling all the difference types of heroin. Nowadays there's really nothing good anywhere. I'm here in Washington State where in the 90s the car was really good but still realistic only at about 10%. Then you would go to the East Coast and the worst stuff that you would get would be 75% pure. When I lived on the east coast and would travel back home to Washington State and bring dope from Washington DC or New York. I couldn't share it with anybody because they would basically overdose. The difference between the coast back then was crazy. But now really the dope on the west coast like I said it's basically just a morphine codeine t a r baase. It is at about 5%. And the best thing you're going to get on the East Coast now there's basically maybe 10 for 15% at the best. Oh yeah and Philadelphia always had the best anywhere. But all these people are dying an adult is nothing like it was when I was an active junky in the early and mid 90s. Like once in awhile I'll fuck around and everybody talks about how awesome and strong it is going to cost more money. But like I said here on the West Coast this crap and it's not even real heroine the crazy thing the job I have now is actually testing the different Purity levels of that heroin that cops seized in drug bust. They have really no idea of my junkie past.. I I get to test and research every type of drug. I get to grow psilocybin mushrooms that are being tested and used for mental health research. It's like a dream job for an ex drug addict. Even though now for many years I can keep a control on things and Sample every once in awhile. I've had this job for 6 years now and I don't ever want to lose it. Most Eric's would be in heaven to have my job and get to do all the things I get to do in the name of research with drugs. I have no idea that I could be extracted from animal bones! Yes, we used to use citric or vinegar with our transdermal fentanyl patches, but they were not the ones that had gel in them. They are just a clear sticker that we would cut strips off of. Man, that pins and needles feeling is the worst feeling ever! I always hated that feeling when I would do a morphine tablet if I couldn't find hydromorph. It would turn my face completely red and give me the worst headache! I never did much heroin because it was really hard to find where I'm from and mostly garbage ! Congratulations on being clean man. I know firsthand what a struggle it is trying to stay clean. It feels like it will always be a problem for me. If you can sample every once in awhile and it doesn't bother you then all the power to you. It is a wonder that Europe still has brown heroin base when the rest of the world has it as the hydrochloride. In South East Asia and Australia it is almost always white heroin hydrochloride.
Most heroin available in the UK and Europe comes in the freebase form. This makes it very good for smoking, but also makes it incredibly insoluble in water. The citric acid is added to change the heroin from Diacetylmorphine freebase to diacetylmorphine citrate - a salt form, which is then water soluble and suitable for IV usage.
Freebase is Freebase cocaine (crack). Different things. Citric is added because heroin is an alkaloid and although water soluble will not effectively enter the blood stream IV unless an acid component is used. You can smoke brown heroin as is because it has a lower boiling point than water so will not just burn up when heat is applied. Purer, white heroin is harder to smoke and will probably burn when heated and so is more often injected or snorted. There is no Freebase solution in regards to heroin though. Freebase cocaine is freeing the base coke of the product. Essentially washing out the impurities and hardening the solution into a smoke able rock.
I'm 5 years clean I would probably relapse on some Laboratory grade REAL pure H... But I'm glad its all fake ass fent now because I wouldnt touch that death powder!

I'm all for harm reduction, but I still think including that intravenous is one of the more dangerous ROA's at the beginning in terms of accidental overdoses for recreational users, and other routes are advised over it for this reason. Nearly Impossible to die from smoking, you simply pass out before you get to the stopping breathing point.
IV is only dangerous because of an unregulated black market, if it was legal and regulated and users knew exactly the purity and amount, and needs and sterile water were readily available, it wouldn't be anymore dangerous than in a hospital setting
I smoked for quite awhile. People turn to i.v. for both economic reasons, and because of tolerance, smoking just doesn't cut it after awhile. So due to tolerance, you have to use so much that the money part will always come at the same time.
They make it themselves most likely, or buy it illegally from China like every other Canadian and English lab (america is a bit different they really get everything from everywhere there isn't a main supplier, it's probably why america is so fucked.)

Pure diacetylmorphine morphine is very soluble in water brown # 3 still very soluble but more heat is needed. Back in the 70’Persian also tanish brown we used lemon juice to increase solubility. The lack a good cook or no Acetyl anhydride Improper isolation of morphanins from crude opium etc. bulking = cut. A tenth and a third if pure very hefty hit. I’m a little late to the party,here,and I see that this was several years ago but,DAMN! That’s a £10 bag??! What’s that,like $14-$15 US? Nevertheless,shit is $20 for .1 (one-tenth gram) and it’s some of the most MEDIOCRE garbage I’ve seen in my 20 years,here! We don’t have to add citric powder,just water and cook,if one chooses. But,seems I ALWAYS find garbage in the bottom of the spoon! And now,this fluffy,white fentanyl is moving in. It sucks. I’m in the UK and can assure you that there is no way you’d get a 10 bag that big on the street.. most dealers would get 2 or even 3 out of the amount she’s got there.. this vid might give the impression that UK users are lucky buggers, but the science lady ain’t got a clue about bag sizes.. if you need to cook that much for a hit you’d have to buy weights.. This is awful to see. That's the power of drugs. I started using Heroin at the age of 18. I started "Chasing the Dragon", which is running the "Cockroach", a black blob of Heroin, that turns from solid into a thick gooey liquid when heated on some aluminium foil. I'd make a tube (also made with foil), wrapped round a pen, so it would collect in the tube and eventually I could smoke that too. At the beginning I was bliss, as most Heroin users will tell you. Even if it makes you projectile vomit, you still want more. However, after 2/3 years and with the gear being shit everywhere (the potency) me and my then partner and Heroin friend started to inject, so the Heroin would affect us more. You're always Chasing that first couple of times. I was a chef by trade and was loosing jobs, because of illness and withdrawals, or not having anything before I went to work. Heroin always came first. If I couldn't get any, I would phone in sick, but normally I always tried to save some for work. Before I first started taking it, I'd heard about the withdrawals and thought to myself "They can't be that bad, these users must be weak minded" My partner/girlfriend/using buddy whatever she was started working in a 'massage parlour', which obviously wasn't just a massage, but I didn't care through my own selfishness, because the money she was making was ten times plus my weekly wage. So many years passed, new addict girlfriend's came and went and as soon as I lost a job I'd walk into another, because being a chef is a fickle job. You'll find that a lot of chefs are addicts in some form or another. In 2014 I collapsed and woke up in the hospital. The consultant told me I had endocarditis and had an abscess on the walls of my heart, plus my aortic valve needed replacing, plus a triple bypass. I was only 38 at the time. I'd flatlined already 3 times and the chances of the operation being a success were very slim (around 30 percent). They were giving me methadone in the hospital so I wouldn't withdraw. I spent a few months after my operation was deemed a success and I came down from 40ml to 5 ml of methadone while I was there. The same day I was discharged I went to score some Heroin. That's the insanity of it all. I didn't value life and the urges were so strong I gave in almost immediately. In 2019 I went to rehab, the best move I'd ever made. Got clean for the first time since I was 18 of Heroin and Diazepam (which is awful withdrawals too). I spent just over a year clean, then lockdown happened and I relapsed again. I lost my mum and dad in the same year too and started taking more and more. I just want people to know that it only takes one time of trying something out like Heroin and it will ruin your relationships, work, family and your life. Don't be like me. Drugs aren't the way and they aren't fun after you get addicted. I'm still struggling now. I've posted this on multiple videos and maybe put someone off picking up for the first time. ❤ God bless you all.
Question: Once the heroin is de-clumped and fully dissolved by the citric, will it re-clump if the citric is then neutralized by a mild base? That way you would be injecting heroin and a salt solution mixture rather than heroin in an acidic solvent.
No. You would have to be very basic, at which point you would instantly burn your blood vessels and possibly risk other serious health effects. The entire point of adding citric acid is to form a citrate salt of the freebase, to make it water soluble so that it dissolves. Stick with the instructions in the video and you will be far better off.
If the diacetyl morphine is free base, it isn't likely to dissolve at all. Most street forms are the sulfate salt. Since the sulfate anion is diprotic, it can theoretically dissolve two equivalents of a base. In practice, this is usually extended to more basic which is why it won't dissolve easily. Undissolved product can cause emboli and will greatly delay the intended effect. To maximize the effect, some use a bit of sulfuric acid before filtering the solution through a tuft of cotton. Sulfate is a strong acid in the first proton donation, the second is quite a bit more acidic than the first proton donation of citric acid at room temperature. Using citric acid is far safer than adding sulfuric acid, especially for recreational use. The Krebs Cycle is the basis for energy generation in the body, it is also called the citric acid cycle. The buffering effect of the blood is well suited to metabolism of this acid, not so much with sulfate. And citric acid inhibits clotting, far better than sclerosing the lumen of the chosen vein.
I want to know if there are any else like me out there. I found opiates back when I was 17. For ten years I would fight it. Then I found a way to have my opiates and lead a normal enough life. I keep it a secret from everyone and nobody is the wiser. I stay noddy when home alone and it's when I'm at true peace with everything. I keep a job, pay my bills, get a huge chunk of tar each week and... I can't imagine doing life any other way. I'm not saying life is all gravy because it's not. Hi, thanks for your question and story: I want to reassure you that there are 000's of people like you all over the world... but the stigma of prohibition makes it hard for people to come out and talk about it (especially in public forums), and that in turn means that stories of loss of control and only bad things happening to people who take opiates seem like they're the norm but they're actually the minority.

Do you really need to heat it over a candle when adding the citric acid? Doesn't that make more cutting agents dissolve into the solution? To my eye it looks like the citric acid starts dissolving right away even without heat...?

From what I've read, it seems that simply adding more water, i. e. using a high volume, dilute injections, unlike most people do, might actually help. My theory is that that would help to avoid blasting your veins with that acidic solution while injecting the same amount of stuff. But I'm no doctor and I've never tried H so I don't have any personal experience to back up that theory with.

She is right but also very wrong about paracetamol. It doesn't dissolve very well in cold water but it does as the water rises in temperature. That is why a cold water extraction works for tablets that contain an opiate and also paracetamol like Percocet or Vicodin.

One of the main reasons why heroin is bad is the culture we live in and regulations. adulterated drugs common, pharmacological knowledge on the streets is non existent, but hopefully that will change.

I've never heard of using citric and I live in Portland Oregon. The heroin we get here is dark brown or black. I just ordered filters online two different kinds to try to get the heroin filtered better.

I lost my legs because citric destroyed my veinswhen I bang up in groin, today I am in mid 70's and I am in pain every day. You can't say how much citric to use because it depends on the gear you've got, some you need just a very tiny amount to break it down, where as some only breaks down by adding far more.

According to this video, a 10 'British Pound Sterling' bag of heroin contains 3 x as much pure heroin as your average street bag. The average amount of powder in a bag is somewhere around 100mg's, but it's purity is only about 30%, or 30mg's. 30mg's of pure heroin is actually a good dose, and even enough to result in overdose for people with a reduced tolerance. The amount of pure heroin in a bag can be as little as 5mg's, or as high 50mg. Your average, seasoned vet will inject 75 to 150mg's of pure heroin, or 300mg's of powder (100mg heroin + 200mg cut).
And in America your seasoned vet will shoot probably 1000 mg of heroin or a gram maybe even more to get maybe even a little high but that might just be enough to get them well considering most of our shit is cut with fentanyl and so according to the chart that would say fentanyl is 50 times more potent than heroin they might need 5 g of heroin to get high or well I should say

In other words, 30% purity. 30% purity literally means only 30% is "pure heroin". The other 70% is cut. It's usually a different kind of heroin found in USA, number 4 which is soluble in water. Whereas in the UK you almost exclusively get number 3.

White heroin does not need citric acid, the brown does. If the brown heroin is pure enough it can also be mixed with a couple of drops of lemon.

Wow very informative. The heroin here in the US doesn't require any solubility enhancers to be added when preparing an injectable solution from it. Ours does look exactly like the powder in the video though. Must be made using a different method or already has citric acid added.

Paracetamol is not used as a bulking agent! That is very dangerous! They use a type of sugar, I cannot remember the name of it but it begins with an M.
I was reading that it's common to do this in Europe but we never needed to do this in the US even with brown or white powdered heroin. It always seemed to dissolve quickly enough or if it was black tar, you would have to cook it or stir it for a while. Heroin, regardless of grade, is generally described as water-soluble in the US and honestly, I always cook it anyway. I've been clean five years now but I'm curious as to why it's different in Europe.
The stuff in the US comes from mexico and South America whilst in Britain its from Central Asia (Afghanistan mainly), you guys get #4 H (salt form) whereas we get the base form #3. Difference in manufacture and stuff, 4 is generally more pure than 3.

Hi, there's several reasons... there's the practical difficulties of delivering 20mg of anything into a sachet without getting empty sachets, underweight sachets, and sachets with all the powder stuck in the creases, some people need it for snowballs of crack and heroin which would need more citric; and sometimes people are injecting a gram of high purity heroin and the sachet needs to cover all eventualities. There are warnings/information on the sachets to let people know.

If one could be honest about their drug use it would be so much easier to seek help and you wouldn't have people dying in alley ways and all alone because they could talk about their problem. On top of the black market for drugs is so insanely violent and destructive, people will always use drugs so take at least a large portion of control from the black markets or help them go legit and provide jobs instead of death. I've dedicated a large portion of my life trying to understand this issue and I can't see any other reasonable way to deal with it, everything that's been tried has failed and just ostracized many people that just need help. The president of the Philippines has been encouraging his citizens to kill drug dealers and addicts and they've been doing just that in crazy numbers but you know what, people are still doing drugs!! That's pretty common. You can even buy poppy seeds online, legally, that contains a lot of morphine. People make a tea out of it but the concentration of morphine vary so much there's a lot of people who died of overdose... So I don't recommend trying this. In fact, I don't recommend trying any opioids unless your doctor recommend you to take some because you're in too much pain.

This is useful info for those who need it. Much as I personally have a horror of addictive drugs, it's my belief that the war on drugs has been long lost. Addiction should be treated as a social problem, not a criminal one. After all, the tobacco and liquor industries are controlled, so that the user is protected (I don't use those products either). I worked in the Liquor industry in my youth, and the guy from customs and excise was there at least 3 times a week. The same protection should be offered to addicts. I'm not saying one should be able to buy dangerous drugs at the local supermarket, but they should be available to those who take them in as safe a condition as possible and at a reasonable price. I doubt there's a perfect solution, but we could do a lot better than we are at present.

@@stickyfox It's certainly important, but it's also a chemistry 101 reaction/concept. Freebase cocaine to cocaine is the same reaction. Most drugs we take are in salt form. Vinegar and baking soda is this reaction. The type of people to watch either of those two, are very likely to understand neutralization reactions.

It's weird in the United States you don't have to add citric to the heroine. The first time I was in England strung out on heroin on tour with my band. I scored some heroin for the first time. I took it to where I was staying and tried to hook it up and it wouldn't break down. So I thought I got ripped off and threw the stuff away in the garbage can where I was Stan and went to go out and try to find some more stuff that was real. I came across this musician that I know who lives in the area. He took me to the same exact place that I got the heroin from the first time. We go back to his apartment and start cooking it up. And it was the same thing it wasn't breaking down. Then my friend asked me if I needed any citric. I totally didn't know what he was talking about. But then he explained to me what you have to do to the heroin in the United Kingdom and and Europe. So a lot of American junkies who watch this video. They are not going to understand why you even need citric the breakdown the hit of heroin

I used to just take those and squeeze the gel that's in them into a spoon on ADD cold water and they would breakdown fine. After being on tour and England when I was a junkie and found out about having to use citric to break down the heroin. In New York and Washington DC once in awhile I would get this stuff and it would never break down. The people who would snort dope. They would talk about how good this shit was. But if you were a shooter. The quinine or chloroquine which is basically the same as quinine at is the same stuff that is curing covid. That is used for cut and that would be the only thing that would break down. And what would be left in this would be these little brown crumbs that wouldn't break down at all. So after learning about citric. When I got that kind of dope all's I need to basically use was some lime or lemon juice. Cuz also I found out that when you don't have that trick you can use lemon juice or lime and it would work just as well. I had this friend that would shoot cocaine. When he couldn't find cocaine to make a speedball with his heroine. You could always find crack cocaine. He would always use vinegar which is acidic acid one of the processes extracting the alkaloids in the process of making heroin. Back here what use vinegar to break down the baking soda that was into the crack cocaine. Then the second time I was in England on tour with my band. I got high with this one dude and he didn't use the citric because when you did use the citric it was a painful shot. Even if you hit a vein. It still Burns for like a minute. So she would use vinegar instead of citric to break down the heroin that was gas in the United Kingdom and in Europe. Basically all the heroin got you have to use citric is the stuff that comes from Afghanistan. And basically most of the heroine in the West Coast which is black car heroin. Well actually not anymore what they have now it's still black car. That basically it's just a morphine codeine base. When people shoot it now they experienced that feeling of pins and needles. They stink nowadays that if they don't feel that pins and needles that's adults not really that good. But when you are feeling that pins and needles feeling that's because the certain alkaloid hasn't been cooked out which it probably means that it's just a morphine codeine base. It still has several more processes to go through to actually become heroin. Go watch UA-cam video called heroin holiday in the Czech Republic. Watch with those guys do. So all that right now that's in the west coast is coming from Mexico. The stuff on the East Coast. There's about 15% coming from Afghanistan which is basically the same stuff that the United Kingdom and Europe get. But there is one more process done so basically you don't have to use the citric to break it down. Then the other 85% of heroin that came into the East Coast was coming from El Salvador and surrounding countries. It was weird being a jockey in a band and touring the world sampling all the difference types of heroin. Nowadays there's really nothing good anywhere. I'm here in Washington State where in the 90s the car was really good but still realistic only at about 10%. Then you would go to the East Coast and the worst stuff that you would get would be 75% pure. When I lived on the east coast and would travel back home to Washington State and bring dope from Washington DC or New York. I couldn't share it with anybody because they would basically overdose. The difference between the coast back then was crazy. But now really the dope on the west coast like I said it's basically just a morphine codeine t a r baase. It is at about 5%. And the best thing you're going to get on the East Coast now there's basically maybe 10 for 15% at the best. Oh yeah and Philadelphia always had the best anywhere. But all these people are dying an adult is nothing like it was when I was an active junky in the early and mid 90s. Like once in awhile I'll fuck around and everybody talks about how awesome and strong it is going to cost more money. But like I said here on the West Coast this crap and it's not even real heroine the crazy thing the job I have now is actually testing the different Purity levels of that heroin that cops seized in drug bust. They have really no idea of my junkie past.. I I get to test and research every type of drug. I get to grow psilocybin mushrooms that are being tested and used for mental health research. It's like a dream job for an ex drug addict. Even though now for many years I can keep a control on things and Sample every once in awhile. I've had this job for 6 years now and I don't ever want to lose it. Most Eric's would be in heaven to have my job and get to do all the things I get to do in the name of research with drugs. Like the last couple months of my job my assignment is to basically find out of all these different things that you can extract DMT. Like the last couple days I've been extracting out of animal bones

I have no idea that I could be extracted from animal bones! Yes, we used to use citric or vinegar with our transdermal fentanyl patches, but they were not the ones that had gel in them. They are just a clear sticker that we would cut strips off of. Man, that pins and needles feeling is the worst feeling ever! I always hated that feeling when I would do a morphine tablet if I couldn't find hydromorph. It would turn my face completely red and give me the worst headache! I never did much heroin because it was really hard to find where I'm from and mostly garbage ! Congratulations on being clean man. I know firsthand what a struggle it is trying to stay clean. It feels like it will always be a problem for me. If you can sample every once in awhile and it doesn't bother you then all the power to you. It is a wonder that Europe still has brown heroin base when the rest of the world has it as the hydrochloride. In South East Asia and Australia it is almost always white heroin hydrochloride.
Most heroin available in the UK and Europe comes in the freebase form. This makes it very good for smoking, but also makes it incredibly insoluble in water. The citric acid is added to change the heroin from Diacetylmorphine freebase to diacetylmorphine citrate - a salt form, which is then water soluble and suitable for IV usage.
Freebase is Freebase cocaine (crack). Different things. Citric is added because heroin is an alkaloid and although water soluble will not effectively enter the blood stream IV unless an acid component is used. You can smoke brown heroin as is because it has a lower boiling point than water so will not just burn up when heat is applied. Purer, white heroin is harder to smoke and will probably burn when heated and so is more often injected or snorted. There is no Freebase solution in regards to heroin though. Freebase cocaine is freeing the base coke of the product. Essentially washing out the impurities and hardening the solution into a smoke able rock.
I'm 5 years clean I would probably relapse on some Laboratory grade REAL pure H... But I'm glad its all fake ass fent now because I wouldnt touch that death powder!

I'm all for harm reduction, but I still think including that intravenous is one of the more dangerous ROA's at the beginning in terms of accidental overdoses for recreational users, and other routes are advised over it for this reason. Nearly Impossible to die from smoking, you simply pass out before you get to the stopping breathing point.
IV is only dangerous because of an unregulated black market, if it was legal and regulated and users knew exactly the purity and amount, and needs and sterile water were readily available, it wouldn't be anymore dangerous than in a hospital setting

Pure diacetylmorphine morphine is very soluble in water brown # 3 still very soluble but more heat is needed. Back in the 70’Persian also tanish brown we used lemon juice to increase solubility. The lack a good cook or no Acetyl anhydride Improper isolation of morphanins from crude opium etc. bulking = cut. A tenth and a third if pure very hefty hit. Oh for the old days of 4 elephant brand with empirical purity stamped on the keys 99 to 103% pure!!

I’m a little late to the party,here,and I see that this was several years ago but,DAMN! That’s a £10 bag??! What’s that,like $14-$15 US? Nevertheless,shit is $20 for .1 (one-tenth gram) and it’s some of the most MEDIOCRE garbage I’ve seen in my 20 years,here! We don’t have to add citric powder,just water and cook,if one chooses. But,seems I ALWAYS find garbage in the bottom of the spoon! And now,this fluffy,white fentanyl is moving in. It sucks. This is awful to see. That's the power of drugs. I started using Heroin at the age of 18. I started "Chasing the Dragon", which is running the "Cockroach", a black blob of Heroin, that turns from solid into a thick gooey liquid when heated on some aluminium foil. I'd make a tube (also made with foil), wrapped round a pen, so it would collect in the tube and eventually I could smoke that too. At the beginning I was bliss, as most Heroin users will tell you. Even if it makes you projectile vomit, you still want more. However, after 2/3 years and with the gear being shit everywhere (the potency) me and my then partner and Heroin friend started to inject, so the Heroin would affect us more. You're always Chasing that first couple of times. I was a chef by trade and was loosing jobs, because of illness and withdrawals, or not having anything before I went to work. Heroin always came first. If I couldn't get any, I would phone in sick, but normally I always tried to save some for work. Before I first started taking it, I'd heard about the withdrawals and thought to myself "They can't be that bad, these users must be weak minded" My partner/girlfriend/using buddy whatever she was started working in a 'massage parlour', which obviously wasn't just a massage, but I didn't care through my own selfishness, because the money she was making was ten times plus my weekly wage. So many years passed, new addict girlfriend's came and went and as soon as I lost a job I'd walk into another, because being a chef is a fickle job. You'll find that a lot of chefs are addicts in some form or another. In 2014 I collapsed and woke up in the hospital. The consultant told me I had endocarditis and had an abscess on the walls of my heart, plus my aortic valve needed replacing, plus a triple bypass. I was only 38 at the time. I'd flatlined already 3 times and the chances of the operation being a success were very slim (around 30 percent). They were giving me methadone in the hospital so I wouldn't withdraw. I spent a few months after my operation was deemed a success and I came down from 40ml to 5 ml of methadone while I was there. The same day I was discharged I went to score some Heroin. That's the insanity of it all. I didn't value life and the urges were so strong I gave in almost immediately. In 2019 I went to rehab, the best move I'd ever made. Got clean for the first time since I was 18 of Heroin and Diazepam (which is awful withdrawals too). I spent just over a year clean, then lockdown happened and I relapsed again. I lost my mum and dad in the same year too and started taking more and more.
I just want people to know that it only takes one time of trying something out like Heroin and it will ruin your relationships, work, family and your life. Don't be like me. Drugs aren't the way and they aren't fun after you get addicted. I'm still struggling now.

Question: Once the heroin is de-clumped and fully dissolved by the citric, will it re-clump if the citric is then neutralized by a mild base? That way you would be injecting heroin and a salt solution mixture rather than heroin in an acidic solvent.
No. You would have to be very basic, at which point you would instantly burn your blood vessels and possibly risk other serious health effects. The entire point of adding citric acid is to form a citrate salt of the freebase, to make it water soluble so that it dissolves. Stick with the instructions in the video and you will be far better off.
I don't think anyone would be that eager to spend more time away from their shot.

If the diacetyl morphine is free base, it isn't likely to dissolve at all. Most street forms are the sulfate salt. Since the sulfate anion is diprotic, it can theoretically dissolve two equivalents of a base. In practice, this is usually extended to more basic which is why it won't dissolve easily. Undissolved product can cause emboli and will greatly delay the intended effect. To maximize the effect, some use a bit of sulfuric acid before filtering the solution through a tuft of cotton.
Sulfate is a strong acid in the first proton donation, the second is quite a bit more acidic than the first proton donation of citric acid at room temperature.
Using citric acid is far safer than adding sulfuric acid, especially for recreational use. The Krebs Cycle is the basis for energy generation in the body, it is also called the citric acid cycle. The buffering effect of the blood is well suited to metabolism of this acid, not so much with sulfate. And citric acid inhibits clotting, far better than sclerosing the lumen of the chosen vein.

I found opiates back when I was 17. For ten years I would fight it. Then I found a way to have my opiates and lead a normal enough life. I keep it a secret from everyone and nobody is the wiser. I stay noddy when home alone and it's when I'm at true peace with everything.
I keep a job, pay my bills, get a huge chunk of tar each week and... I can't imagine doing life any other way. I'm not saying life is all gravy because it's not.
I admit I use the opiates to push off all the f'd things that have happened to me. I also use them for real pain. But they are my everything.
Hi, thanks for your question and story: I want to reassure you that there are 000's of people like you all over the world... but the stigma of prohibition makes it hard for people to come out and talk about it (especially in public forums), and that in turn means that stories of loss of control and only bad things happening to people who take opiates seem like they're the norm but they're actually the minority.
To hate something like that and spending so much money on it is heavy. Stay strong/ halve way through the worse 5 days in, soon I sleep for more then 3 minutes.

i hear you brother...i get the exact same feeling too...its a way of coping, better off watching then doing i suppose, but i also think it comes down to the genetics...you spend so much time getting loaded, that your body literally changes and rewires so it becomes expected...even when you finally kick, your body will remember forever because its written in permanently into your brain and even dna...

Do you really need to heat it over a candle when adding the citric acid? Doesn't that make more cutting agents dissolve into the solution? To my eye it looks like the citric acid starts dissolving right away even without heat...?
What would happen if you added bicarb (after dissolving your gear) to balance the ph and ultimately save your veins?

I would say the videos advice of using the citric acid lightly is probly not a bad shout
From what I've read, it seems that simply adding more water, i. e. using a high volume, dilute injections, unlike most people do, might actually help.
My theory is that that would help to avoid blasting your veins with that acidic solution while injecting the same amount of stuff.
But I'm no doctor and I've never tried H so I don't have any personal experience to back up that theory with.

She is right but also very wrong about paracetamol. It doesn't dissolve very well in cold water but it does as the water rises in temperature. That is why a cold water extraction works for tablets that contain an opiate and also paracetamol like Percocet or Vicodin.

Great video, the hard thing is disseminating this information without it getting distorted. Thank you for your time in providing this, its easy to understand and will do a great job at reducing harm. im not a IV user but have a lot of respect for harm reduction and those that promote it. One of the main reasons why heroin is bad is the culture we live in and regulations. adulterated drugs common, pharmacological knowledge on the streets is non existent, but hopefully that will change.

I've never heard of using citric and I live in Portland Oregon. The heroin we get here is dark brown or black. I just ordered filters online two different kinds to try to get the heroin filtered better.

The reason is your heroin has only got to what is called the number 2stage in Britain we get number 3 which is brown powder to make number 4 you need ether which would be white heroin.

You can't say how much citric to use because it depends on the gear you've got, some you need just a very tiny amount to break it down, where as some only breaks down by adding far more.
Sorry to hear you lost your legs, that's awful. It's true that we can't say for sure how much citric people are going to need, but adding loads of citric to break down stuff that isn't heroin just damages veins, and doesn't give a bigger dose... That's what the video is trying to say...made more than 10 years ago, and still today lots of people use too much citric.

I was able to get a lot done. Almost like a reset. Now I'll be fine for weeks, til the next time I feel it all built up again, crippling me. I hate to have to medicate myself but there's no other help. I'm in a waiting cue to get a therapist. Good luck to everyone struggling, whatever you're struggling with.
