I love the lipstick you’re wearing! Glad you pulled it out to use it. The Elemis marine pro collagen cream is my Absolute FAVORITE. It’s not too heavy or too lightweight and doesn’t break me out.... That being said it is expensive so I really appreciate the dupe recommendation! I’m going to try it out
Thanks for the reviews I appreciate you coming back on to tell us more about the Elemis lol I don't purchase because of the price and fragrance but I love the honesty , Thank you
I have a hard time justifying buying an expensive cream in a JAR that has fragrance. Thanks for doing this video - please keep doing dupes. Paula’s Choice Omega Serum is such a good barrier repair - it’s a lotion texture, not liquid, but it’s awesome.
Hi Lauren- Just ordered two more bottles of drmtlgy sunscreen yesterday!!! Used your code. Now I just need it to come in a gallon version lol! That stuff is wonderful. I used to be a die hard Elta MD user but I now prefer drmtlgy and the price cannot be beat. Plus I just use my HSA account to buy it. 🥰
Elemis is worth every penny. No other brand comes close to it for my skin. It actually works out much more cost effective to just buy those products than waste even more trying lower price options that completely destroy my skin
Love the video What are your thoughts on Shiseido’s advanced revitalising cream and Lancome’s absolu soft or premium night precious cells ? I hve used shisiedo and liked
I love the Tatcha Dewy Skin Creme but since it is expensive, I also use Versed Rich Moisture Cream in between. I have been using Heimish balm at your recommendation. I love it. I need to try I’m from Fig balm sometime. Love your skincare videos. Great job. 👍
Yes! I agree with all your picks. I haven't tried the last one of the beta glucan moisturizer, and I haven't tried the Milk one either. Soooo, I guess I know what I'm getting next.
I can't stand some of these fake youtubers. Like, I like Susan Yara, but she can definitely be bought and has been before. I like Cassandra Bankson 's youtube because she tells it like it is and I've learned a LOT from her. I have turned my sudden adult hormonal acne around thanks to her videos.
You mentioned the new colourpop foundation in an old video & its so lovely! Anywho love this video your input is always so clear & positive. 🥰 I was wondering if you've ever looked into belif? I love their toners!
That foundation is one of my favs! It actually reminds me a lot of the new It Cosmetics. I used to love Belifs Aqua Bomb moisturizer, but now their cruelty free status is unclear :/
I definitely need to try the milk moisturizer!! I've been eyeing the elemis moisturizer, because I love the idea of marine algae and whatnot, so I'll have to check it out. Also!! A closer dupe for the drunk elephant C firma is Cleen beauty Vitamin C Papaya Glow serum. I have been loving it, and it's definitely a great feeling serum. Awesome video, glad I found you, I'm subbing!
The Elemis does go on sale every once in a while at Ulta. I mean I think I bought mine for $40. It was the 1oz though. Marine algae has good research to back it up but I think if you are still young then there is no reason to spend a lot if money. That’s a personal opinion. I’m in my 50s so I’m going to try everything with in reason. Missha has more affordable algae products it might be the red algae. Alice in the rabbit hole did a good video on the different algae’s and their benefits.
I have really dry skin so I think I want to try the Josie Maran sunscreen as the Sephora sale is coming up. The Acure nighttime whipped cream is also a good dupe for the Drunk Elephant protini but it has a thicker texture so it depends on your preference. I really enjoy the thicker texture with my dry skin.
We have a brand new puppy in our house so my UA-cam time has taken a hit the last few weeks lol So very excited to watch this video! Some of my all time favs - MILK moisturizer, Ordinary Lactic Acid, Timeless Vitamin C, Drmtology spf to name a few 😉 keep em coming and YES to the Ordinary skincare video ! Have a great week 💕 Xo Tammy Roy 🇨🇦
@@thehonestbeautyreview a beautiful Golden Retriever named Louie- he’s completely adorable but very busy lol - love him to bits already🥰 but will be glad to get through the puppy stage 🙈
Hi Lauren, I recently discovered the iunik moisturizer thanks to your recommendation. The DE Protini had been my favorite moisturizer for several years, mainly because I love the gel-cream texture so much but I was searching for a more affordable alternative. I can get the peptides from The Ordinary Buffet serum instead and get the plumping moisture from the k-beauty cream. I'd like to try to Heimish cleansing balm next once I finish my Clinique balm. I also discovered the DRMTLGY sunscreen this summer and think it's great. It has the most elegant texture of a mineral sunscreen I've every tried, which I would describe as a gel-cream which melts into your skin, and I love the glow it gives. I had tried the Jose Marin version but it broke me out (too oily I guess, even for my dry mature skin). Keep up the good work on suggesting these affordable alternatives for high end products.
Oh my gosh I was saving my sephora sale purchase for the farmacy cleansing balm how perfect is this video! I really love the farmacy cleansing balm I go through balms like water. I live the california love palette it's my favorite
I've been tempted by the Drunk Elephant protini for a looong but I own the Iunik Beta Glucan moisturizer and I had no idea it was a dupe! I love the Iunik cream and now I don't feel the tempted by the DE cream anymore! Also, I used Sunday Riley good genes for a long time, but then I switched to Tarte knockout and I actually like it better! It seems like it has been more effective on my hyperpigmentation and like my skin is even smoother than with the good genes. It doesn't have the moisturizing kind of feel that the good genes has, since it's a liquid, but I feel like the effects are even better.
How does the knockout feel on your skin after applying? I’ve been lookin for a better good genes dupe and disliked the ordinary since it was so sticky 🥺
@@vanessalanda4032 it's a liquid toner and I definitely felt a lot of tingling when I first tried it, but it was only for a minute and then I stopped feeling anything but a mild tingle after I used it for a little bit. It dries down and (at least for me) feels like nothing on my skin once it dries. I'd definitely recommend starting only like 1-2 times a week and increasing as you feel comfortable. For me, it was more powerful than good genes, but I have sensitive normal/dry skin and was easily able to work up to using it every other night. The only reason I don't use it every night is because I use my curology on the alternating nights.
Hi Lauren, I love watching your videos. I bought the Good Genes lactic acid treatment because of you. I agree it is expensive but I think worth it. I will continue to buy it even though I am now buying much less expensive products because many are just as good or even better. I am very impressed with the Versed products and the way they are packaged makes them seem almost like expensive products. You can buy the Good Genes lactic acid from QVC and get easy payments. Great video.
Elemis has really good deals in sets at Ulta if you like that cream. I do but I just love the smell. I’m the type that won’t use it if it doesn’t smell good/ luxury experience feel for night moisturizer. 😬 I also love the Tatcha dewy skin cream for the same reason.
I just stared using the ordinary would love to hear what products you like and what you use together. I heard on another utuber site you couldn't use the peptids with the glycolic acid, is this correct?
I want to try the Drmtlgy - it's just that I do have oily skin - Right now the Maelove and Paula's Choice feel best on my skin...also, I was just looking at Colourpop palettes when I saw that Aether Beauty just released 2 mini palettes. I've been wanted to try them forever, but couldn't see investing in the big palette. I'm very curious if you've ever tried their stuff! I ordered the Ametrine. Thank you for your great content.
Just added iunik Beta Glucan to my cart on YesStyle. Excited to try! The Hada Labo toners and emulsions are also great products on YesStyle. Penny recommend the Alpha Arbutin in the blue line, love it. Also love Hada Labo’s red line. Free shipping to US with $59 purchase. I save my cart until I reach the minimum amount for free shipping. 😊
I have an unrelated question. Regarding K products... i love the ones I've used, and the price. But how safe are they? Whst regulations do SoKo and Japan have to go by when sending products to the USA?
Imported goods must meet the same US regulations. Here’s a helpful reference www.fda.gov/cosmetics/cosmetics-international-activities/cosmetics-importers#Imports4
Hi thank you for a great video! I was wondering if you could recommend a moisturizer that provides good hydration and gives a nice glow for dry dehydrated acne prone skin. Thank you
The elf super hydrate is a nice lightweight, fragrance free gel cream. It takes a lil while to sink in, but if you don’t mind a tacky feeling (only lasts a bit), it gives nice lightweight hydration 👌🏻
Thank you for the Dermtlgy code! Much appreciated! I love the C serum, peptide night cream, and tinted sunscreen. Do you know of a dupe for the Skin Ceuticals AGE Interrupter? I have a sweet tooth and love my evening glass of wine, but understand that is causing glycation of my body and skin. Do you think the S.C. products really help with this or know of a dupe? Thank you & Happy New Year :-)
The Elemis marine cream is expensive here....the UK, but nowhere near that price 😮Xxx ps we can’t get your dupes over here except for the ordinary ☹️😢 Xxx
Which do you like better the milk moisturizer or Versed skin soak? Bought the Josie SPF on your recommendation and i love it!! I need to try the dermatology one. Im sooooo picky with spf. P.s. i need to just wait til the end of the video because i have edited this comment and 13 times lol
I love Dermtlgy everything I have tried is amazing I started out with the peptide cream loved it so I bought the needless serum loved that then I got the microderm scrub mask loved that I feel like each thing I try is so good it makes me wanna try more next im gonna get the .5 retinol I think . I feel like I want everything from them and with the codes it makes it more affordable and I feel like their stuff good and won't disappoint . 100$ I think is the most 😭 and I have spent 80$ on the DE baby facial alot💸😭
I was so excited for the Tatcha dewy kit with their mini rice cleanser & cream moisturizer to come in the mail. Since I had to order it online and never tried the brand. Sadly I was HIGHLY disappointed to say the least with both products. 😩 They smelled lovely, but I hated the tacky feeling I felt when cleansing my face and then the same with the moisturizer. That I had to take them back pronto. -I'd rather stick with my "Holy Grail" moisturizer in the Osea atmosphere protection cream & the Mad Hippie cream cleanser. Plus, there less expensive then Tatcha.
Regarding the Elemis pro-collagen cream not having great ingredients, I disagree. I am on my first jar of the ultra rich version of that cream, as well as the Pro-Collagen night cream; both have an amazing ingredient that in the US market is not well known. Mimosa Tenuiflora Bark extract, is an ingredient that I had been looking for in skin care for a while. I encourage you to do your own research on it, all I'll tell you is that it's been used for thousand of years in Mexico on victims with severe burns on their skin, so its regenerative properties is one of the many qualities this bark has. I'm actually loving these two creams, my skin used to be combination, but now in my forties has changed to normal to dry, and my skin is loving them.
I try to avoid anything with fragrance. Fragrance has zero benefit to the skin, and can be problematic: irritation, increased photosensitivity, long term effects that can lead to all of the issues we use skin care to avoid! The really scary thing is that it can be causing problems without you even having any obvious side effects. And fragrance isn’t regulated so god only knows what kind of chemicals are used to create it. I got a sample of the Tatcha Dewy Skin and it really is a nice moisturizer, if not for the fragrance and the insultingly high price tag….going to look into the Versed moisturizer.
It makes me suspicious of “luxury” brands that have a ton of fragrance in them. Like, what are you trying to distract me from? That the ingredients aren’t all that special? It seems counterintuitive to me that affordable brands make fragrance free and expensive brands are full of fragrance.
your product display is to fast and you mention products to fast and don't hold still with names visible. very annoying. I find your information quite useful otherwise
