Booker T went from a main eventer to being stuck in midcard limbo for years and Rey only got his big push after the death of Eddie Guerrero. Yes some guys did do well but most guys who came over after the buyout fared poorly. DDP, Sting, Scott Steiner, Chuck Palumbo, Shawn Staziak, Buff Bagwell, Goldberg on his first run, the nWo, The Invasion.
Even more than that though, while this was a short beating it was a welcome changed and I felt so hyped to see the unstoppable Brock Lesnar have the piss taken out of him.

It just seems in wrestling and this goes mainly for the WWE, that one bad part of a pay-per-view seems to mean the entire event sucked. SummerSlam really was not bad in any way, shape, or form, but was trashed because of Lesnar vs Orton...

Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg for me was perfect and made absolute sense which no one else is realising. Goldberg was deemed as unbeatable for more than 100 victories in a row. Yeah he's old, but that streak means he's one of the strongest wrestlers to ever exist (Not saying he is, but publicly, Wrestling portrayed him as that), so him DOMINATING Brock in a minute was just about right, it made sense in every way possible.
Seeing that live victory was fucking amazing, the reaction I had whether it was good or bad, i had an amazing reaction!

The correlation is that him defeating the streak was much of what was used to bill him as this unstoppable beast. So, the person who beat him, the conqueror of conquerors, would then be elevated like crazy. And, up until now, he has been decidedly un-conquered.
The concern is that moment may have been wasted on Goldberg since he likely won't be around long enough to capitalize on it much.
They told a great story in 1 minute and 25 seconds. Basically Brock Lesnar is a bully, and he's been kicking everybody's ass. Goldberg was the guy that kicked that bullies ass! Also who else on the current roster had the believability to beat Lesnar? Not even Reigns or Strowman was believable. Remember as well, Lesnar has lost since he beat Undertaker since Wrestlemania. He didn't lose clean, but he lost.
WWE could have give this momentum to beat Lesnar to someone younger or a guy from NXT etc, you know a Wrestler that could have build himself a Career from beating the unstopable Brock Lesnar. Rumors have it that it was all Brock's idea and the plan is for Goldberg to either be in the rumble this year or taken on Lesnar in a rematch at the Rumble. Lesnar is said to have said they could do it this way and draw money for a 3rd match. But I honestly rather see Goldberg vs Taker or Cena at Mania if he signed on for additional matches. I honestly like it, It gives Goldberg more time to get in ring shape. Yes it could have went to a up and comer but lets be honest, Lesnar squashed all credible superstars; rollins, ambrose, reigns, even rusev and braun were squashed by him. There was no one else to really pit against him unless they built up Rusev and Braun a bit more. They dropped the ball on Ryback and Big E is not a heel or even taken seriously at this moment in his career.

So safe to say Goldberg is getting another run. He will start a new streak , John Cena defeated, Randy Orton defeated, Roman Reigns Defeated, Undertaker at WM 34 defeated, Stone Cold defeated, The Rock defeated, Hogan defeated, Donald Trump defeated. He will then become the new WWE champion. Then Triple H will beat him clean to win the title back and give it away. Goldberg inducted in the hall of fame, he retires for good. Then I cry myself to sleep at night. Life, aint it a doozey.
I was there live the crowds was great I wasn't disappointed with any of the matches and the crowd went crazy for the big moments.

Does smackdown win 3 superstars for winning the male brand main event? I honestly think they should have went over the rules and the rewards. A brand should win some picks because otherwise it makes the paperview pointless. I also think they should have went with overall victories. However they booked it 3-1 going into the main smackdown vs raw male team match. I think atleast they should have had smackdown win the tag match with American Alpha looking strong to even it out. Also could have even had goldberg vs lesnar as a brand match if they had in shane in storyline sign goldberg to take out lesnar after he attacked him.
As for the titles I am glad they stayed where they are at, Raw has more time to showcase all the cruiserweights. Raw didnt need both the iC and US title unless they were planning on merging the US with the Universal. Which at the end of the day I would be open to because the universal could use more credibility. I would have even called it the United States Heavyweight Title and put the red white and blue decal on the universal face plate like wwe 2k17 did in community creations. It would not only make the belt have a lineage but also fix the discrepancy between the universal reigns not being considered a world title reign. By having both a United States Heavyweight and World Heavyweight you could just count them as Heavyweight title reigns instead. So if Cena won the US he would be a 16 time heavyweight champion. Thats just my thought, they kind of made this all a mind fuck by not bringing back the big gold belt.
This can either be really good, or really bad. This is what I think WWE should do. Next night in Raw, have everybody talk about it, but don't have Lesner be there at the start, everyone is wondering where he is, and then at they end of Raw he drives there and is in a rage. He destroys the ring and barricade, he is attacking superstars, referees, security, everyone. Paul try's to calm him down and he F5 him. He then goes after a fan in the crowd with a Goldberg sign, and destroys him. Next week, have Rae start either Steph coming out to talk with Lesner, and she says that she is suspending him for a year for attacking the fan. He goes insane and try's to attack her but she gets out of the ring so he goes and destroys a bunch of security again. Then, have him come during the next Raws and attack superstars. Like John Cena did with the Nexus, but this time it's not to stupid. He keeps destroying yeh arena, until one night when Steph and Foley comes out to try to plea to Lesner, he isn't in the ring, but she is trying to talk to him wherever he is. She calls him out, but he doesn't come. So they start to walk out of the ring when he bursts through the barricade. He immediately goes after Stephan, listing her up for an F5, (I know it's a big no no for a man to attack a woman in WWE, but as long as the announcers talk about how horrible it is, it should be ok) but before he can hit the F5, Foley is punching him. He throws down Steph, not an F5, and then F5 Foley. The next week, Vince is in the ring, and he is asking Lesner what he want, who he can get him to stop attacking Raw. Leaner comes out, and just says. "I want my match." And Vince says that he can't make Goldberg fight again. So Lesner F5 Vince and then destroys the arena, again. The next night, when Lesner comes out to disrupt a match, he also sees a kid with a Goldberg shirt, he starts to go towards the kid, when Goldberg comes on over the titontron. He says that he is tired of Brock's tantrum, and sets a match for Wrestlemania. I don't know where I would go from here, sorry for it being so long, just my idea.

I don't even know how to feel about this show. Going into the men's 5 on 5 match I hated this show, but after that match and Goldberg winning I was so confused and happy at the same time.
The first two hours of that show were basically WWE saying, "Here's what you get for saying Smackdown's the better show.", but the men's 5 on 5 was so much fun! Ellsworth eliminating and being subsequently murdered by Strowman, THAT spear, The Shield reunion, and BRAY WYATT PINNING ROMAN REIGNS AT A BIG 4 PPV.

One of the best parts of the match was Heyman begging and praying to Goldberg to stop the abuse and annihilation. Srsly, Lesnar looked like a scared child. He sold it well.

I think Goldberg/Lesnar was such a perfect match. In every sense of the word, both on and off screen, Lesnar has been a consistent heel. Regardless of how you feel about Undertaker, Cena, Reigns or Punk, they were always faces in their bouts with Lesnar, and Rollins was such an underdog against Lensar that he felt like a babyface. Even offscreen, you know those guys were faces, but Brock is, and always has been, a clearly different character.
Yes the WWE 2K17 promotional stuff is a marketing ploy, but in a sense, Goldberg represented the player in the game, and Brock represented the unstoppable challenge against them. It stands to reason that the WWE fans (marks or otherwise) would hate Lesnar because he ended the Undertaker's Wrestlemania streak, crushed the babyface John Cena, swatted CM Punk without any rematch, and attacked Heath Slater after saying he didn't care about his kids. Call him what you will, but Brock has been in defiance of the fans for years. Cheered or otherwise, it never mattered to Lesnar.
Goldberg was the opposite. His family were always ringside, he always was positive towards the fans, and we know Bill Goldberg is a decent guy outside of the ring. He wanted to be "a superhero for the kids at home", so to have this "superhero" run through the biggest bully in the WWE was the perfect feel-good moment, because Goldberg represented the WWE universe, and a sense of heroism like Hogan or Warrior.
It also shows that the WWE is more on the side of WCW than the UFC (which is how each guy is marketed.

WWE figured out (finally?) that Goldberg's fundamental character is "that guy who squashes other guys". Any time WCW or WWE tried to make Goldberg more than "that guy who squashes other guys" it went over like a lead balloon. His entire character is "that guy who squashes other guys". His catch phrase is "Who's Next?" In this match, Goldberg did what Goldberg does. It's not going to kill Lesnar because Lesnar still does what Lesnar does to everyone else. He just can't do it to Goldberg, because Goldberg is who Goldberg is.

Classic WCW Goldberg. Bravo to WWE for this unexpected throwback to Goldberg's old dominance. Shame about the undertaker's streak being used for this but it was worse that brock lesnar broke it in the first place to be honest. I'll be watching raw live tomorrow for the first time in 9 years now.

Holy Hell!!!!! That match was the pinnacle of Brock Lesnar getting put in his place. I wonder if he's quitting again? I also wondered if Goldberg just showed up for the last video game pop? Because in my opinion , this match didn't have anything to do with wrestling anymore than there man on the moon. It was all about the video game. And that was all it was about. The reason Brock lost so easily is because Paul Heyman is actually
Paul bearer, hence the first names. And after Goldberg pushed down Brock Paul heyman pulled out the urn and shunned it at Brock and Brock was in a posest from in because Brock is related to undertaker hence the pale skin, so the urn posest Brock and Goldberg takes advantage of it and destroys him. What will happen next, undertaker and Kane team up in a handicap match against paul heyman (Paul bearer) and kill him live on smackdown then Brock gets his rematch at royal rumble. Then gets another rematch at the next ppv. Wins both of them and a tie breaker will be at wrestle mania where Paul heyman and comes back to life as Paul bearer and kills Brock and then Goldberg pins him, and then Goldberg and Paul bearer make bitter love live on air.

I think it was a genius booking decision..... let's not take into account that goldberg may be hurt, that probably influenced the "not wrestling" in the match... but it achieved something the WWE never could before....
Let's back track to 2000.... who was goldberg in WCW??? he wasn't just another wrestler, he wasn't even a main eventer... he was a GOD... the guy destroyed everyone, without compassion in squash matches... even main eventers... he was a God amongst men...
But when he went to WWE, he had the feud with the rock (which was great, but the rock could have a great feud with a broom, so it doesn't count)... and then goldust put a wig on him and HHH buried him for the title.... and his "god" status was over...
But in 3 moves, againts the biggest monster in wrestling.... he became said god again... and now we are going to see lesnar's journey to finally beat goldberg (probably in Wrestlemania)... and finally be over the guy he could never beat (something like rock vs austin)...

PLEASE READ AND SHARE!!! GREAT BOOKING IDEA!!! Lesnar shows up at Raw furious and destroys half the locker room, Heyman arrives and tried to get him to calm down just to be told by He doesn't need him anymore and delivers am F5 and walking off. He comes to the ring and demands Stephanie or Mick come out. In a back stage segment Foley is stopped by Heyman and is begged to not reward Brock another match with Goldberg because it's changed him and he's afraid of what he's become. upon Foley's arrival Brock demands that he's given a rematch with Goldberg. Foley listens to Hey man and denies him, Brock then rants about him being the companies biggest star and that they have no choice but to give him what he wants or he walks. Foley still denies him so Brock goes insane and destroys the arena security guards, camera men, refs, ext. Steph then comes out starting next week he will be in a series of matches where if he wins them all he'll get his rematch. over the weeks Goldberg is destroying people in sqash matches and brock dominates his apponents in his matches but he seems more passionate, he then demand his rematch. Foley for a last ditch decides to place Brock against Sami Zayn. Zayn of course will lose but with his his ability to tell stories in the ring, it will make himself look strong and make Brock look better in the ring and also gives the feeling that he is really deserving of a rematch. The rematch is booked for the Royal Rumble where Brock will look weak yet again and looses to Goldberg again. By this Brock is devastated and seems like he's lost it and Goldberg is becoming more egotistical and starts to feel like He's a god of wrestling. He then becomes more merciless and aggressive in the ring and become more of a bully, soon he starts doing what he wants and kicking ass when he isn't given what he wants. it seems as if no one on the roster can do anything about at and Brock has been on a hiatus since the Royal Rumble. Stephanie goes out to find him and tries to convince Brock to come back brock refuses and tells steph he just doesn't have it anymore. The following week there's a vignette of Brock back at home at Minnesota where at a bar drinking and he's greeted by a stranger in the shadows who giving a cryptic message about conquering fears where he's indirectly telling Brock to man up and face Goldberg, he tells Brock he knows he can do it and Brock asks how, the man steps out of the shadows reveling he's The Undertaker and says "I've seen you do it". The next week Goldberg is destroying Superstars ranting about how he's an unstoppable force and raw is his puppet show Paul Heyman then comes out and says Goldberg is nothing but a bully and a maniac. Goldberg gets angry beats Heyman and spears him, just as he's preparing for the jackhammer Lesnar's theme plays and he drops Paul. Brock come to the ring and helps Paul to the ramp where Paul tells Brock to go get him. Then Brock enters the ring and goes face to face with Goldberg and says it's time to end all of this and demands one more match at Wrestlemania. Goldberg denies and says "I've already beaten you and Survivor Series and The Royal Rumble. And you know what happened last time we fought at Wrestlemania." He then mocks Brock and says "Face it you can't beat me this is my world now your time is done just leave the WWE and never return." Brock looking defeated just leaves, but he stops at the top of the ramp and says "You know what Goldberg you're right if I can't beat you I should remain in this company.... So I have one final offer for you. One more match. If I loose I leave the WWE and never come back and you show the world how dominant you are......But.....if I win you Retire from the WWE and never look back. initially Goldberg denies. Then Paul Heyman comes to the stage and says "What Goldberg are you afraid to fight and be exposed as a fraud infront of your son on the grandest stage of them all?" Goldberg then infuriated tells Lesnar he had his match at WrestleMania Booking a Face Brock and heel Goldberg where they'll have a 5 star match (To their standards) Brock will win solidifying his legacy and giving Goldberg an amazing final send off.

I barely watch PPV's anymore but Survivor Series was really fucking good.
The only reason they did that is because he was kind of injured from fighting off the security guards on Raw and he's not in as great shape as he use to be just look how quickly he gets gassed so they found a way to make it work without cancelling the match but now that meens is that all that build up of making Brock look like a monster and looking unstoppable against John Cena, The Undertaker and all the other people he ran through has been wasted on a 2 minute match against Goldberg witch probably won't go anywhere and even if it does Goldberg probably can't last 10 minutes in the ring without being gassed or hurt so thanks WWE for making Brock and the opponents he's beated weak for a guy who won't be arround much and wow that's our main event the 5 on 5 match should of clearly been the main even NXT won the weekend wrestling wise good job Vince and Kevin Dunn you FUCKING GOONS.
