      @@SpaceVideosHDhere’s something I’ve always wondered: why does it look like she’s moving so slow? I know she’s going absurdly fast, but it looks like the scene below is going by so slowly. And I remember seeing the shuttle chasing her over our backyard years ago and it looked like they were doing highway speeds😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

      @@brianrigsby7900 The ISS seems to be moving slow because of the altitude - on average a bit over 400 km or 250 miles. Suppose it fell straight to Earth, didn't burn up and it was able to keep its terrific speed then it would still take almost a minute. before it hit the surface. Instead, if it went straight over you and you were able to follow it from one horizon to the opposite one, that would take about 10 minutes I guess.

      It's orbital velocity is +/- 17,200 statute m.p.h. To put that into perspective. It is 4.75 miles per second across the surface of Earth. 😮
