thank you so much for sharing so openly! i just started better help again today, before coincidentally watching this video. surfing has been so important for my emotional health as well, in a way that running or hiking never did. i really appreciate you talking about the exact numbers in your board sizes because one coach always pushed me to size way down and all my sessions for over a year became about feeling no confidence, scared, and catching no waves, on top of obsessing over the numbers. i wasn't having fun and thought i had to use that size to prove something to myself. i was led to think that after only a few months i was supposed to be using a 6'8 because i'm "not that tall" and "it's easier to turn." your beginner to intermediate video helped me so much in grounding myself again 🙏🏼
