    Great video thanks a lot! I will be a semi-mobile hunter this year- steel stand and sticks but still setting up and taking down every day. Just can’t go quite as far and I reduced weight by going with a fanny pack and only 2 sticks with aiders. Will have to check out that headlamp.

    Awesome video. As always. Just one minor suggestion. I always include a tourniquet with my first aid. Never leave home without one. Very light weight and....you never know. Im always strapped in. But I wear it directly on my belt in case I fall for any reason. It's always on me when I hunt.

    Great video. You need to mention more that it's essential to have a lineman rope and loops. lol I just know there is some guy out there thinking if I can hug the tree I don't need the lineman rope and loop. DON'T BE THAT GUY!

  • @tatoo190
    @tatoo190 3 роки тому +1

    Awesome video. Always informative. Since you walk out with such little clothing on, how do you handle the movement & potential noise required to dress once you get to your stand?

    • @tradbowpodcast
      @tradbowpodcast  3 роки тому +1

      I just move slow and quiet getting dressed on stand. And honestly I always put and pant layers I need on at the base of the tree before I hang the stand. This way I don't have to take off my harness. So its just top layers in stand. And thats only when its super hot. Otherwise I put everything on at the base of the tree.

  • @OklahomaLoneWolf

    So do you not use an upper body harness/straps bow that you use a mountain climbing harness on your lower half?

    • @tradbowpodcast
      @tradbowpodcast  3 роки тому +1

      Correct. No upper body harness. Just lower rock harness

    • @OklahomaLoneWolf
      @OklahomaLoneWolf 3 роки тому +1

      Traditional Bowhunting And Wilderness Podcast from what I understand don’t you need the fall support to be connected higher (ie on your back) for it to not do damage if you fall? If I remember correctly the arborist you had on talked about it being important.

    • @tradbowpodcast
      @tradbowpodcast  3 роки тому +1

      @@OklahomaLoneWolf that is the case when hooked in the back right at the belt line. People would tip forward and end up upside down, especially if they were very top heavy.
      A rock harness connects at the front a few inches higher up than the belly button line and keeps me up right and will let me easily turn towards the tree to ascend or descend. I know rock climbers that fall and watched hundreds of people fall on climbing walls as the front attachment like that is very easy on them. I am also using dynamic (stretching) climbing rope for my safety line. I jave not fallen yet in this system so I dont know for sure. But the regular harness connecting from the shoulders has proven good and reliable. But after watching all the falls in a rock harness I personally feel very confident and like the advantages of it.
