    Appreciate you doing this man… new to the diesel world anxious to see how everything comes out. I’m currently running ppei but from hearing all the things on fb was thinking of maybe switching to Danville or ridge runner don’t do any racing more interested in mpg

    Hey bud Love your videos, cant wait to see new videos in the summer of tunes, you should do ppe, I know its not efi live but Id like to see how they do compared to the efi live, also think its a good idea to put a ppe xcelerator tuner on my 430k lb7 duramax? Im going to be putting a new set of reman injectors and a 5 inch exhaust. haha probably not the best idea ive had but would like more power and cant really afford the ppei tuners when they are 700 bucks compared to $400 ppe tuner.

    uS is microseconds. 1 microsecond is 1x10^6 seconds so the ignition delay shown in this video is 2.367 milliseconds. That is the amount of time that passes between the start of injection and the start of ignition.

    Nice man I'm getting a long bed crew cab lbz soon and am wondering which tuner to go with,also I live in california I might put a HD clutch and a few transmission mods in but want to stay stock what would you recomend?

    • @robsdiesel2470
      @robsdiesel2470  5 років тому

      Moto is life69 if your staying stock fuel and air and you have a manual then just about all the tuners will feel the same.

      @@robsdiesel2470 well I'm going to be rebuilding the engine I didn't mention it has 500k miles on it and needs injectors I was thinking of putting some larger injectors in and maybe a bigger turbo also does ppei smoke a lot on just Daily driving without wot? I don't really care about smoke just wondering though,also you should try duramaxtuner spade jack or spade king next when the weathers good

    • @That2strokeRider
      @That2strokeRider 5 років тому

      @@robsdiesel2470 idk it depends on how much it costs I'll probably rebuild the transmission,because at the end of the day the truck has 500k miles so it's going to be wore out a heavy duty rebuild kit won't be much more then a stock rebuild kit so probably going to rebuild it I'm getting it for cheap that's why I'm buying it otherwise I would buy something with less miles but hey I'm a mechanic so I can do it. My plans are rebuilt transmission,hone the cylinder,put a set of rings in it maybe pistons not sure,ppei tune or duramaxtuner spade tuner,5 inch straight piped, mud terrain tires on stock wheels maybe a lift,also the power windows don't work so that's also other thing to fix it'll probably cost 4k at the least total not including the truck so probably 5k but still cheaper than a duramax from Craigslist with 200k miles I looked at them they cost anywhere from 8 at the least to 15k next build will be a powerstroke 6.0 but for right now I don't got the money so duramax nice videos btw looking forward to more I subbed.

    I believe the injector pulse width is micro seconds. The little u is typically micro. m is milli so mSec is millisecond which is .001, u is micro so one uSec is .000001 second.

    Your going to have some tuners mad at you 😆 I been a tuner for 9 years now i quit at 3000us and 28° of timing stock cp3 25,000 fuel rail on lb7-lly anything over that is heat in the piston 30° or higher timing will make 5 more horsepower same goes for pulse-width anything over 3000us more heat you mite see a max of 15 horsepower why hurt the motor.

    You say that the ppei tunes shift great. When you purchased the ppei tuning, did you also purchase the tcm tuning?

    • @robsdiesel2470
      @robsdiesel2470  5 років тому +1

      rc4x4crawler no I used the factory trans tune for all the tuners. Changing the torque tables in the engine ECU changes how it defuels and how fast the trans shifts. All the tuners made my truck shift so different. I could tell a difference on how fast the trans would go from slow shifts on mileage tests to fast crisp shift on wife open pulls

    • @rc4x4crawler
      @rc4x4crawler 5 років тому +1

      Rob’s Diesel that is good info to know. What do you think a tcm tune would help improve?

    • @robsdiesel2470
      @robsdiesel2470  5 років тому +2

      rc4x4crawler changing shift points is the biggest reason for trans tunes.#1 I recommend it if you have big turbo setups, you can raise part throttle shift points to stay on top of charger and also lower throttle position required to downshift to keep from smoking out the road.
      #2 changing shift strategy is important for big tires
      #3 changing shift points for built motors that want to shift at 5,000+ RPMs, stock pumps don’t flow very well over 3500 rpms, so for my stock fueled truck I keep the shift points stock

    • @rc4x4crawler
      @rc4x4crawler 5 років тому +2

      Rob’s Diesel Okay makes sense I see why you didn’t do it for your setup then. Thanks for the info.
