- I just love tulips and they are so easy to grow in containers and pots. Here I show you two of my container gardens and talk about some of the tulip varieties. But I'm also showing companion plans, for example japanese maple, pansies, viola cornutas and wallflowers.

I’m in zone 10 and my tulips are already done for the year, so it’s so nice to see these tulips.

It’s so beautiful to see all the varieties of tulips 🌷 🌷 that you grow, and the way you arrange them! But the special orange corner with the yellow Japanese maple three is spectacular!! The chunky tulips in that special corner are gorgeous too! I have never seen a Yellow Japanese Maple before, so, @ClausDalbyEnglish you have exceeded my expectations this time! Your beautiful displays do help me to try and create small areas with good colours; they don't last long in my climate but I have been happy to see tulips for several months. Now the only ones left are 'Purple Flag' , 'Finola' 'Mount Tacoma' and Blue Diamond'. 'Apricot Parrot' has been sensational! Now I have small acers, old and new, some clematis and many calendulas, including double white. Azaleas and rhododendrons are in full flower too. Many thanks Claus; and as always, I ope you make another book!

Wow! I've never seen anything like this. I think maybe I have been too conservative with my pots in the courtyard - the multi color theme really dazzles the eye! I've made note of some favorites I want to try: Slawa, Jimmy and Sensational Touch. And one of the first things that caught my eye was the bright lime Philadelphus 'Aureus'. Incredible!

Claus, can you please educate me. Do you leave your tulips in the pot after flowering or do you lift them and store them then replant in the autumn? I absolutely love your eye for detail and every corner of your garden sparks magic. It is like visiting the botanic gardens
I need my pots for other plants, so the bulbs are lifted. Tulips really only do well for one season in containers so here I use fresh bulbs every year.

Love the display. I tried tulips in pots this year. Kept them in unheated garage,zone 5 Indiana. Brought them out in April. Did not water over the winter. None came up looks like all rotted😩. Afraid to try again. Any suggestions?
Need the cold weather and snow to give them life. I am in zone 7b. Mine was a showstopper this year.
I believe it is called. cold stratification.
@@missmyabcmissgm2918 I am in zone 5 definitely get cold enough. Have done daffodils and other bulbs with no problem
It’s surprising that they rotted if you didn’t water. I had a pot full of bulbs that also rotted in our garage but it was definitely due to wet soil. It apparently didn’t drain well when I watered it right after planting. This fall I will water them extremely sparingly.

Question!?! I live in USA, zone 6 and last year I tempted to plant tulips in containers but only a few make it. Any advice? Do you bring them into a garage or shed? What do you do after they are done blooming?
I leave my tulips outside, but I cover them with a tarpaulin to protect them from the winter wet. If the bulbs are always standing in very wet soil, they will simply rot.
