i don't see why people complain or get so upset over glitches they aren't ruining the game for you. If you don't like glitches then don't use them simply because something is in front of you doesn't mean you have to take it. If you find enjoyment from farming the game and playing through legit just as many people will find that tedious and annoying and it will be something that they don't enjoy. If a glitch makes the game more fun for some people why would should that be wrong. i understand how it would would be a problem for multiplayer if people use glitches that make them unbeatable but for solo play there isn't any problem and honestly people need to worry less about what other people do with their lives and just enjoy the one you have.

You can still do it on xbox and PS3. Its just a little bit different. You need to find an enemy that you can lock on to without him noticing you(a good place is in undead burg, the archer just outside the bonfire works). These are the steps. 1. face the camera, at a distance that you can press RS and lock on to the enemy that doesn't notice you. 2. Use the dragon head. 3. Press up on the D-Pad to change to your soul/humanity. 4. lock on to the enemy. 5. use the soul(keep hold X/square)
tbf, there are alot worse exploits out there, this one really just allows people to level faster(which just means they would be fighting higher level pvp, other people like them and some highly skilled people who wanted a higher lvl character), and rank up in covenants/ kindle bonfires faster, which aren't too bad, sinceyou still need to actually be good at pvp in the first place for it to make a differance. if itgave unlimited stamina or increased your health it wouldn't be a fair thing to use in pvp, and i wouldn't have said it was ok, but all it does is reduce the time you spend on pve, so thosewho are already good and don't want to spend the time on it canskip straight to pvp, and those who are bad at the game will get crushed in pvp with experienced players since they'll miss out on learning how to play properly in pve
You can turn to human form at a bonfire. Beeing human boosts some resistances, item drop rates (the more the better) and you can invade/summon other players (online) to help you or fight them. If you die you lose human form and all humanity (but can collect it again where you last died, unless you die again). Ohh and if you are human you can kindle your bonfires for additional humanity to give you more estus flakons.
It still works if you delete your characters and the update including the title update that's like 16 mb, but then you have to get a decent soul, get to the everlasting dragon, do the glitch right and have a lot of patience.
Overcoming the struggle and learning from your mistakes are huge themes in Dark Souls. Take those away by cheating and you're ruining the intended experience, but to each his own.
You have to be on the xbox Dashboard first, then you press the Xbox guide button(big silver button in the middle of the controller), go all the way to the right and find system settings and press A, then go down to storage and press A, then you want to select your hard drive or w/e you saved your patches on but dont press A, instead you press Y and in the device options menu you can Clear System Cache which deletes all patches for all games.
I used to worry about using humanity until i reached the baby skeletons at the end of catacombs , its just so easy to get from them tht i always have 99 stashed away & at least 20 on my guy to boost item drops & defence stats . i farm baby skeletons for 30-40 mins and get over 300,000 souls & around 100-150 humanity , so just if im farming for souls i'll be getting loads of humanity . it would take something from the fun if i knew i could just do a glitch & get them without working for em
This one doesn't work anymore. The new glitch require you to do the exact same thing, except instead of turning around with the analog stick, you target an enemy while facing away, so that turns your character around.
I'm on my first playthrough. I used the glitch right before I fought ornstein and smough. I'm way over leveled now and it's made the game easy. I'm contemplating just leaving my current account as it is and just starting over again so I can at least experienced the game as it was intended my first time through
It was fixed in a patch, but you should be able to do it if you delete the patches. Once you are done, you can redownload the patches whenever you want.
Yes, you are changing the argument. Convenience is always more satisfying (there are so many examples to support this). I'm also sure the devs didn't mean for blight town to lag so much and yet it effects everyone's game, unlike this glitch. Gear doesn't make the player but its definitely part of it. Also why does it matter how someone else got titanite slab or a certain item? It doesn't effect you. What if that person who beat you was lvl 500 or 70? and glitched it to get there?
I've found other slow weapons :D like the dragon tooth....A.k.a rip you a new one XD But still I like using the black knights sword its attack fits everywhere..
before reading guids i beat the knight too, only on maybe lvl 10 or so thanks to a bow, a shitload of arrows and a knight with a bad KI. thought there will be stronger swords somewhere. but really, this sword is so amazing
Experimentation comes with experience. More pvp you do, the better you are while doing it. Its that simple. If you do research and check the numbers, you can make a build thats perfect for you. Go to dark souls wiki and look at all the items, spells, etc. I have several builds that I have never used a single glitch to create. All of these characters have a wide variety of how they play. I watch people in game, and on youtube. Planning your build goes much farther than glitching
Theres other things you can do to advance your items other than repeatedly beating the game. Using the red eye orb is a great way to acquire humanity/souls, and also learn how to play. My strength build currently has 20 million souls, multiple maxed out items, and several high level weapons. Never once had to use a glitch to advance any of them
Well I only use it to make Lvl 120 builds of different characters to have fun. Also there is a way to do this glitch on 1.5 WITHOUT having to delete the patch. Post patch 1.5: 1. Go to new Londo ruins and put ur dragon head on. 2. Lock onto an enemy. 3. Unlock, and turn so your face is facing the screen. 4. you cant do this at all unless you start a new game and delete the patch. your save wont work if you delete the patch,, you have to start over from scratch
I can't beat the game so I am getting really mad because the four kings are wrecking me and I can't get any where near seath or nito so thanks now I shall do that glitch to use my anger on the four kings
A) its patched out B) i just reemed out the 4 kings by running at them till i was point blank, strafing right till they were attacking away from me, then spending all my stamina on attacking, which killed each king in 1 stamina bar then healing before the next guy spawned given that was with a chaos blade, 40 dex and 10 humanity, if your build doesn't support something like that i cant really help you C)if you do still need a bunch of souls, look up the mimics and kill all of them to get the symbol of avarice(optional), then go to the giants tomb and grab yourself the silver serpant ring (highly recommended and its super close to the warp bonfire) then grab a +7-20 pyromancy flame and learn either fire storm (30,000 souls at quelana) or Chaos storm (30 humanity at fair lady) After you did all of that, equip the helmet and ring in the painted world of ariamis and open the shortcut to the court yard if you haven't already. Then run into the court yard (circle to the back of phalanx) and cast your storm, it should kill most of the phalanx, clear out the last guys with your main weapon. Then do it over and over for ~12000 souls a minute which should let you get yourself to whatever level you need asap or if you want to skip steps without the other stuff you can go to the painted world right away and get 8000 every 2-3 minutes without the pyromancy or ring/helm
Dakota Bosarge Full havels, grass crest shield, and a good weapon. Falchion with a buff, Black Knight Halberd, +15 halberd. Heal when your health is low, out dps them
I do this glitch to test out certain builds. I was curious about the dex affecting casting time so I am glitching out my character to see if this is true.
@verbic96 on ps3 you goto the game part of the xmb scroll up to "game data utility" and delete dark souls.. Make sure you go into "game data utility" and NOT "game save uitility"
Just for the record for all who go on this video, you can actually hold it infinitely if you have the grass crest shield equipped during this, or if you have cloranthy ring on.
I have not done this either, but may at one point. I have over 500 hours into this game, so I think I've do it all. The reason would be to try out different builds easy and fast. Then decide what would work best for me.
it is infinite in tha fact that you can do this whenever you please, wherever you please, within minutes. You can get an infinite amount of souls from doing it. Theres no limit, other than the limitation you give yourself. So long as you have a single soul of anything, this glitch is infinite. you can do it an infinite amount of times

When it came to multiplayer it didn't break the game. Because you die in only a few hits no matter the level. I have a 456, 236, 80, 64, and 37. From the vast amount of multiplayer I've played with each character I can tell you it has more to do with the item, weapon, and spell selection along with the skills accumulated throughout playtime then a high level. All they did with the fix was kill build experimentation while ignoring the things that do need fixing like blighttown an other lag issues

It still works, but in order to do it u have to give up ur Saved data. And delete the game update. The dress is in the demon ruins u have to kill the other boss protecting his sisters belongings.

i'm so new, i've been farming the hellkite dragon spot for the last couple days while i was in the start of the game, i'm currently at anor londo and now i hear all these easy ways to get souls. whatever lol i'm just gonna go through a normal game and figure this stuff out later.
yeah the patch "fixed it" if you go and delete your game data you can undo the patch but you have to get rid of any characters you saved after you got the patch
Now your changing the argument from this glitch to just playing the game and getting good at it, which this glitch does not affect. If a person was so knowledgeable about builds and knew exactly what to go for then this glitch actually provides a convenience. Instead of grinding for dozens of hours just pop this glitch in a few minutes, create your build and jump straight into pvp.

Which patch fixes it? I'm fairly certain my Xbox disk does not have 1.05, since other things that were supposed to have been fixed have not been. Which is annoying because I bought it new like a week ago.... Anyway, is it the 1.05 that fixes it?
ATTENTION! PS3 USERS!! If you want this glitch to work you MUST NOT get any patches for the game (ONLY PLAY OFFLINE) up to this point, and do this glitch BEFORE you get any patches. If you already have patch 1.5, it WILL NOT WORK. You can delete the patch, but it will say you can not play because your save doesnt match and it will force you to download it. So, Once you get the patch, you gotta delete all characters in order to be able to have a CHANCE for it to work offline without a patch.

I consider that not everyone is good enough to play certain games, and if i stop enjoying the game, and begin getting pissed, i will do WHATEVER it takes to make it enjoyable again. In two days this video is a year old, since then there have been two patches that got rid of this glitch. This version of the glitch stopped working with Patch 1.05 which was released only 20 days after this video. The other version of this glitch, which used lock-on was removed in Patch 1.06, on the 22nd October, 2012.

It's not "kind of the same" at all. Sure the results are similar, but there's a clear difference in the process. A glitch is an error inside of the game that a player can access without having to tamper with the game's coding or functions to achieve/perform. A cheater (or cheat/hack) actually needs manual alteration of the game's code and variables to recieve the wanted result. Glitches are still part of the game. Cheats/hacks are not.

Running through the Forest Hunters as a Soul farm method gets tedious. Will definitely have to try this.

You can delete the patch (which also deletes your characters I believe), do the glitch, then update your game again when your done.
You can only safely delete patches on xbox 360, not ps3 and the patch came with the PC edition so unless you have this on xbox its impossible to do

Tiziano depauw Grass Crest shield is better. Gives you faster stamina regen to get more hits.
The glitch is still there on PS3, it just activates slightly different now.

Just connect to the internet with your console, and it'll be in online mode. Disconnecting will put you in Offline mode.
This no-long works. They deleted it in the patch that was released with the DLC. As far as I know no-body has discovered a new one.
It still works, but in order to do it u have to give up ur Saved data. And delete the game update. The dress is in the demon ruins u have to kill the other boss protecting his sisters belongings.

Farming is not the purpose of the game. This is a very useful trick for people that just want to PVP.
i'm so new, i've been farming the hellkite dragon spot for the last couple days while i was in the start of the game, i'm currently at anor londo and now i hear all these easy ways to get souls. whatever lol i'm just gonna go through a normal game and figure this stuff out later.
yeah the patch "fixed it" if you go and delete your game data you can undo the patch but you have to get rid of any characters you saved after you got the patch
the update removed it, but there is a new glitch, just type dark souls dragon head glitch 1.0.5
Now your changing the argument from this glitch to just playing the game and getting good at it, which this glitch does not affect. If a person was so knowledgeable about builds and knew exactly what to go for then this glitch actually provides a convenience. Instead of grinding for dozens of hours just pop this glitch in a few minutes, create your build and jump straight into pvp.
Glitch doesn't work for humanity. Gonna just do the regular boss soul one, with a fire keeper's soul
@Greyumopepisdn Well, yes. Still better to regain 99 humanities insted of 1, right? Since they influence your curse resistance, chaos weapon damage, chance to find objects ... I hope this trick doesn't work anymore or it could really ruin the PvP of this fantastic game ...

Which patch fixes it? I'm fairly certain my Xbox disk does not have 1.05, since other things that were supposed to have been fixed have not been. Which is annoying because I bought it new like a week ago.... Anyway, is it the 1.05 that fixes it?

If you want this glitch to work you MUST NOT get any patches for the game (ONLY PLAY OFFLINE) up to this point, and do this glitch BEFORE you get any patches. If you already have patch 1.5, it WILL NOT WORK. You can delete the patch, but it will say you can not play because your save doesnt match and it will force you to download it. So, Once you get the patch, you gotta delete all characters in order to be able to have a CHANCE for it to work offline without a patch.

also why does everyone call it an infinte soul/humanity glitch? its not infinte it just gives a HUGE BOOST in it if it was infinte then you would never run out of souls/humanity.

I don't Consider cheating a bad thing. I consider that not everyone is good enough to play certain games, and if i stop enjoying the game, and begin getting pissed, i will do WHATEVER it takes to make it enjoyable again. Getting pissed doesnt make me happy, Enjoying a good well balanced video game story and/or mechanic(s) does.
How can I delete the patch? I think it isn't possible, as the game warns that the save games are not in the same version, so it can't even starts. Any ideas??
Ugh. To all the people who keep posting comments about how you were doing this for two hours and nothing happened, that's because this doesn't work anymore. In two days this video is a year old, since then there have been two patches that got rid of this glitch.
This version of the glitch stopped working with Patch 1.05 which was released only 20 days after this video. The other version of this glitch, which used lock-on was removed in Patch 1.06, on the 22nd October, 2012.

delete Artorias, delete utility, delete save and you're good to go. Once your lv 700, re-install patches and Artorias and you can go online.
This is and old video. In the current patch they no longer allow this to work.

Yes, but that would not be a glitch, this is the INFINITE SOULS/HUMANITY GLITCH in DARK SOULS. I have no idea why you think this is a bad title, as i just highlighted, every word that you would use to describe this glitch is featured in the title.

No, im not changing it. What happens if they are having to grind titanite chunks then? "Oh just BB glitch it." This isn't the way the game is meant to be played. I can guarantee the devs didnt intend for this bug to happen, so thats why they ficed it. Gear doesnt make the player. I got beat by a person using the dragon bone fist the other day just because he was better than me.
Also, knowing you worked for something is alot more rewarding than something you cheated for.

It's not "kind of the same" at all. Sure the results are similar, but there's a clear difference in the process.
A glitch is an error inside of the game that a player can access without having to tamper with the game's coding or functions to achieve/perform. A cheater (or cheat/hack) actually needs manual alteration of the game's code and variables to recieve the wanted result.
Glitches are still part of the game. Cheats/hacks are not.
