I’ve known James for almost 30 years now, 6 of those years I worked for him as a full time employee. Whether he is flying an aircraft, rebuilding a computer, driving a race car, sailing a yacht across the Tasman sea, or playing any wind instrument known to man, he has never, ever, been puzzled about anything, on or off stage...
Wow, what exceptional playing by all, such a good feeling of "togetherness". As i brass player myself I commend these unfathomable players for their superior excellence!
Holly Holly stuff..! Tremendous trumpets solos, I feel like dancing now, this guys are the trumpet aces for real, unbelivable..! Standing ovation to this guys and the whole orchestra, bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo..!
Big band versions of songs: Intro, improv/screaming part, chorus, the rest improv/ awesome playing finish with the end of the the song ;D Love all of the players on stage haha

Time and time again, I find myself coming back to the one video that's motivated me beyond anything else possible throughout my trumpet playing: THIS VIDEO The most amazing, inspiring thing I've ever heard. Jesus, to play with HALF of this skill...
I worked with him and Emma once mate a few years back in Italy, a total star and all round good lad.......... He is so much more than a great musician. A lovely wife too ;-)
THAT WAS NUTS!!!! WHOOOOOOAAAAAAAA! I didn't think it was legal for trumpets to go up that high. One (or all) of them hit the dog-whistle register at one point. That is one high-energy piece. Phew.
I had only seen Morrison on the title when I clicked the video. It was when I saw Gansch creeping out from the back that I knew where this was heading.
There's a funny joke my band director says to trumpet players. He says something like "How do trumpet players screw on a light bulb? They hold the bulb up and wait for the world to revolve around them." Funnier when he says it
great ♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪ ♫♪ ♫♪great sound! ♫♪♫♪ ☺ ♥ ♫♪☺♫♪♫♪♫♪☺ BRAVISSIMO @bisbis 🎶🎵🎼 great music! a well tuned ensemble that sounds like an organ ! Fabulous banding
The dude on the bass is absolutely killing it!
Yes!!! I was fixated on the rhythm section the whole time! Bass player was in the zone.
Needed a finger transplant shortly after.

Are you his son?
Drummer: which one of you trumpets is going to take lead on this song?
Trumpets: yes.
This quickly went from the Flinstones to an amazing trumpet battle
Back row politics. Preferably live.
Yabba Dabba Doo
With who though? Lol. James and Thomas? Or free for all with all the trumpets lol.
Sometimes it takes a full band to produce such a high quality rip
Lol
I can't begin to imagine what this sounded like in person being in that audience, it must have been like cloud nine!
That conversation between James and Thomas is so good, I always come back for that.
4:45 , the warmup at the region band tryouts

6:08 When you stub your pinky toe against a chair so hard it slides across the room.

You mean the guy at 2:42 looking on in disbelief? Yep.
I dont think he saw that many trumpets before in his life... legend says hes still shocked from that seeing that much
@@chrisjung1309 He's not scared, just demented. That's Leonhard Paul of Mnozil Brass. He always look like that!
Did you see all the notes he had to play around 1:10? Who wouldn't look that way?
Outstanding - knocked my socks off!

Great! There was a small jazz club called Daisy's Basement that used to have the house band jam with this. That was over thirty years ago.
