- The Saint Louis Art Museum’s newest exhibition combines their unique collection of ancient Peruvian textiles with pieces from the University of Missouri Museum of Art and Archaeology to offer an insight into the cultural mindset of ancient Peru. “Balance and Opposition in Ancient Peruvian Textiles” consists of woven fabric which demonstrate a core belief in duality or the balancing of opposing forces throughout life central to the people of the time. Curator Deborah Spivak has also included other pieces, such as spindles, sample material, and ceramic vessels, giving a broader context to the importance of Peruvian textiles in the ancient world. The exhibit is located in Gallery 100 of SLAM and runs through November 25, 2018.

The Atacama desert is in Chile, not in Peru.
That is exactly what I was going tonsay now.
What is the name of the piece at 1:32
Looks really cool! I really like the blue and yellow macaw parrot feathers piece.
Kinda amazing that the feathers last so long!
It's amazing how well the desert environment preserves the pieces. The large black and reddish piece with the cat print is around 2000 years old. And the feather wall panel was one of like 96 discovered and it dates to somewhere between 600 and 900 A.D.
I DON`T UNDERESTAND WHY THESE FINE PIECES ARE NOT REMAINING IN A MUSEUM IN PROPER NASCA AT ALL., UNFORTUNATELY MOST OF THEM ARE OUT PERU.
Culturally all I can see are similarities between their culture and ours.
Your interpretation is irrelevant and probably totally wrong.
