Brendan Kavanagh Dr K, please forgive me for asking but what would you say are good titles of books to learn Blues? I'm asking you Dr because you are a master in your own right and i hope you don't mind sir...Thank you
Michael Knox I would recommend "Badass Boogie" by Dr K on AMAZON KINDLE. Listening to good blues records and trying to pick out riffs you like is the other way to go. Books can only take you so far.
Hallo Brendan. I'm 70 years old, playing a little bit Keyboard in a rock-band (there my knowledges are enough) and try to play boogie/blues on my E-Piano. Your Videos are very helpful and I have the power to learn. My Problem is the coordination between left and right Hand, especially in this case. Could you giv me a tip? Axel from Berlin ( Germany)
Brendan Kavanagh Hi Brendan, great riff but I am struggling to identify individual notes,Any chance of speaking the notes as they are played.More like a (riffs for dummies)kind of thing, thanks joe
Thanks for posting your tutorials, Brendan! I've been looking for these New Orleans style licks demonstrated in a way one can understand. I play guitar, but my new challange is blues and jazz piano. Great stuff, and keep posting!
fantastic as always. Thanks to your channel i've learned almost as much as i've learned through a whole year before i found your channel. subscribed...
hello brendan, it's a cool lesson, i'm an autodidact since about 8 years now, i deduce many think by myself but this kind of riff is cool to lean, i mean it can really improve my boogie woogie skill ! I want more ^^ ! thx
Thank you for the riff lesson. slow down please and show us the follow ups after the riff you are teaching. please! you are awesome. Just slow down. your great.
1:00 if you are doing this daily this may help. I am only on my second day of this one....but by breaking it down slow as Brendan has done for us.....I am rapidly improving at it....this lick is almost if not exactly the same lick used at the start of both Huey Smith and Johnny River's later version of "Rockin' Pneumonia and The Boogie Woogie Flu". If I had just tried to lift it of that record, it would have been much harder.....so thanks again.
Another great lesson. I plan to work my way through all of them during the summer holidays. I've also always wanted to play Good Golly Miss Molly, but I can't make out what the fast descending stuff in the intro is. (original '58 recording) If you ever do a lesson on that, you'll truly be my hero!
Why do I have such a hard time putting both hands together? I'm pretty new to piano still but I really want to start with boogie woogie no matter how crazy that sounds! Any tips or video suggestions? Thanks for the help and the vids!
good lesson as always, just wanted to say im starting out, had lessons in the past and the one thing that gets me with these finger positioning is i have trouble holding my 3rd finger right hand above the keys and i end up pressing a key by mistake, Is there any tips for finger exercises that will help you may have?
Dr K, your teaching method and style is awesome, thank you for showing me the way.
Thanks Michael. I really appreciate your comment, dude. BK

How are you improvising 3:53 i can hear left hand baut how are you improvising right hand so good?
thank you
Hi mister, is wonderful your lessons. you have a video with class boogie? Fot sale...of course.THk
What notes do you play between 4:05 and 4:08?
Can you maje the left hand
Just C C Es E G C A G in that specific rythm
Than you can play same but first note is F and it goes like F F As A etc. Return to C and than to G.
This is slow?????
Still too fast
Love it, but no talent for it.
I looked at your channel and I couldn’t find your version that has talent
@@AudaciousAce1989 Because I have none, nor a channel.
