Miss Rachel, I have been critical in the past, so I feel compelled to be equally laudatory after watching your interview with Nancy Lieberman. You treated her and the topics with respect. You guided the interview while at the same time allowing it to breathe. Obviously, she is a LEGEND, so her input was going to be amazing, but everything that needed to be said was said, and you allowed it to happen in such an organic and flowing manner. I know that you don't need praise from some old nobody on the internet like me, but you did a really good job. Just . . . . Well done, Miss.
It's good to see someone like Nancy speaking common sense. How else will Caitlin Clark get experience if she doesn't play with people who have the experience 😮💨 The only thing that will hold the WNBA back is themselves.
If I was Caitlin I'd come over here to Europe and be guaranteed good/nice teammates and a good coach. I don't understand the mentality of hazing. (Is that what you Americans call the tests to get into a frat house etc?)
Oh, didn't you know she was supposed to gain experience slogging away in a no-hope team with a no-hope coach in the subterreanean reaches of the W for 4 years and then if she's been really polite and never said a cross word then they might *think* about having her in the 2028 team.
@@shonp3761 Oh, you think putting 'PERIOD' after your contentious statement means it can't be argued with? Riddle me this: who has better stats this season - CC22 or Taurasi? Who had a better college career, Taurasi or Plum or CC22? It's not in the least clear that CC22 is "not good enough".
I would argue that CC has a higher basketball IQ than all the head coaches in the W. Making the argument that CC would somehow be a "weak link" in the Olympic roster is insane at best.
@@johnnybgoode8104it’s kinda part of being a rookie. Her stats for a rookie seem to be well above average. Haters are going to hate. She could walk away in 2 years and have far more money than what 95% of WNBA players? Owe and she won’t be filling bankruptcy after her career is over. But hey let them keep flying commercial.
@johnnybgoode8104 is that all you have? As of this writing, Diana Dinosaurasi is the 14th best player in the league and Clark is right under her at 15th. Their stats are virtually the same except for the turnovers. You people have had the league for 27 years and have not had anyone, not Swoops, Parker, name your old timers have not done what CC has done because no one cared. Yet you sit here and name one single Stat all rookies have to overcome. You have everyone who knows ball from Dan Dakich to Colin Cowherd, Nancy Lieberman, et-al saying she should have been on the team. Let's debate this topic and I'll show you just how wrong you and the WNBA and Team USA (because they are both run by the same people) are on the wrong side of this decision.
I agree, as well no one ever said she was going to start and might not even play. Give her the experience of being around the other pros that she has idolized since she was a kid. People would have watched just anticipating her potential possibility of playing.
Diana Taurasi has done a lot to her country. With 5 Olympic gold medals already in her resume, maybe it's time to give younger ones a chance to showcase their talents in the international arenas. In short, give your spot to Caitlin. ❤❤❤✌✌✌
She should have had the honour to give up her spot but they have too much of an entitlement complex to do so. “Really? You want me to give up a chance for a 6th gold medal even though I didn’t play that much.”
Didn’t anyone see what the head coach for the USA women’s coach tweeted on her opening night. Her hashtag was the W is bigger than one player. Clearly talking about Caitlin. That’s sad for a 40 to 50 coach throwing shade at a rookie. Clearly if she had resentment to the attention to Caitlin she definitely did not want her on the team
@@amcra1 That is sad, tho. You're the head coach of the usa team. You can't have biases, everyone should have a fair shot. No one is saying worship. Caitlin has never mentioned that coach but that coach is being petty saying the W is bigger than one player. all because caitlin has a big following and indiana fever broadcasted their game and her own front office didn't. That's low. And we are talking about opening night before caitlin ever took her first shot in the wnba.
I was a big fan of Larry Bird and Boston Celtics, but when I watched MJ play I knew what I was watching… the best player I’d ever seen. When I watched Serena play tennis, I knew what I was watching, the best female player I was ever going to have the privilege of seeing. I wasn’t a golf enthusiast until Tiger came along and all of a sudden I couldn’t get enough. Maybe Caitlin isn’t the best player in the league right now, but neither were any of these people when they first arrived. But there is something innate about certain people that lets you know you are witnessing something special. They don’t come around a lot, but she’s here now. I’ve been blessed enough in my life to witness these great players. I’ve also watched all of them retire, but for me, these are my memories. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss these moments or all you’ll hear is other people’s stories.
Lionel Messi was one of those for me. He was good as a 20 year old coming into the league but didn’t get much run cause a couple legends were in front of him. But that talent is different and Clark has that special something …humble and a fierce ompetitior .. Hundreds of millions of people are already following her around the globe. Global icon in the making
Thank you, Rachel for all that you do for sports and for women in sports. You are truly an ambassador and I am thrilled to hear of Nancy’s story. The women she named I grew up admiring and I am a man and father of 5 girls and a son. I hurt because of what has happenend to Caitlin Clark. I wish that she would play for the Big 3. I hope that Caitlin really thinks deeply and plays for Canada because of her mother’s ancestry. I believe with the crowds that she will draw the WNBA will regret not choosing her to play. I hope and I pray that Caitlin Clark watches this show so she can get more perspective and an appreciation of what she can do for women in the Big 3 and re-considers her decision. You take care Rachel and we pray for you and Dre always. We know that you are going to knock this out of the park with your involvement. We are very happy for you and the guys you will be able to interview and to give us some perspective in what is going on in this league. Be blessed. 19:46
@@lynnhazlewood9738 Honestly, if I was Clark I would look to play in Europe instead of the US. The hatred she faces and her brother haing to live with her for protection from jealous and the crazies. It is all insane and I have played basketball in US and Europe and I have never seen anything lke this in women’s basketball. As a father of daughters I would tell her to take the chances else where. The WNBA is funded by the NBA and it has lost money for 28 years. It was just reported that they lost 50 million this year alone. Europe pays more and she would be safer. This jealousy is insane.

It’s obvious the players and the coach do not want Caitlin Clark on the team. It’s better off she was not picked because it would’ve been a toxic environment.
I laugh every time anyone thinks and talks about this as if it's a skill show matchup in basketball. Ain't got nothing to do with basketball or basketball stardom. It's an all-out culture war and the WNBA mafia and allies ain't having no "Caitlin Clark" culture coming in and stealing their hard-won territory even if it hasn't earned its way in 26 years and she's finally bringing in the cash and viewership. These WNBA players and allies would rather dissolve its franchise than see it go the way of the Caitlin Clark culture.
Again, why are you politicizing the WNBA? There's no culture war in women's basketball. What Caitlin Clark has shinned a light on is the glaring difference between ignorant fans, and fans that know the W.
@@amcra1 Of course the team, but the focus is getting CC to an elite level as quickly as possible. Nobody cares about the other women at this point. The focus needs to be CC and when the eye balls are focused on her....the other women will get the focus as well. @@jasondeesnuts "Nobody cares about the other women at this point?" Are you out your fucking mind? Basketball is a team sport. This ain't tennis or swimming. She's on a team, dip. How dare you? If you knew anything you'd know the W is a post driven league so CC ain't really gonna move the needle in that way. That's why her team sucks now. The focus should be on doing what is best for the Indiana Fever. This kind of thinking is exactly why the league will not grow. And where are the ladies in the W trying to tear her down? Y'all love making shit up.
Nancy Lieberman should be the commissioner of the WNBA. She loves the game, and has SOooooo much more common sense and acumen than anyone one currently in the W’s leadership-coaching or management
Diana Taurasi was a standout player with impressive stats, but there were other players with comparable or even superior individual statistics who did not achieve the same level of team success in terms of NCAA championships. So why did she make the roster as a ROOKIE? So lets base it on Diana who was a rookie and called up days after her final NCAA match. She did not try out they selected her simply based on her college career. Comparison of Key Players: Diana Taurasi (UConn, 2000-2004) - Points per game: 15.0 - Rebounds per game: 4.3 - Assists per game: 4.5 - Total points: 2,156 - Championships: 3 (2002, 2003, 2004) - Awards: Naismith College Player of the Year (2003, 2004) Alana Beard (Duke, 2000-2004) - Points per game: 19.8 - Rebounds per game: 6.1 - Assists per game: 3.7 - Total points: 2,687 - Championships: 0 - Awards: Wade Trophy (2004), Wooden Award (2004) Seimone Augustus (LSU, 2002-2006) - Points per game: 19.3 - Rebounds per game: 5.2 - Assists per game: 1.6 - Total points: 2,702 - Championships: 0 - Awards: Naismith College Player of the Year (2005, 2006) Cappie Pondexter (Rutgers, 2002-2006) - Points per game: 18.3 - Rebounds per game: 4.0 - Assists per game: 3.9 - Total points: 2,211 - Championships: 0 - Awards: Big East Player of the Year (2006) While Taurasi had an extraordinary college career with both impressive individual stats and team success, other players like Alana Beard and Seimone Augustus were also outstanding but did not achieve the same level of team success in terms of championships. Caitlin Clark (Iowa, 2020-2024): Points per game (PPG): 27.1 Rebounds per game (RPG): 7.1 Assists per game (APG): 7.8 Field Goal Percentage (FG%): 46.2% 3-Point Field Goal Percentage (3P%): 35.7% Free Throw Percentage (FT%): 85.9% Diana Taurasi (UConn, 2000-2004): Points per game (PPG): 15.0 Rebounds per game (RPG): 4.3 Assists per game (APG): 4.5 Field Goal Percentage (FG%):: 46.1% 3-Point Field Goal Percentage (3P%): 38.3% Free Throw Percentage (FT%): 80.7% Caitlin Clark has a higher scoring average (27.1 PPG) compared to Diana Taurasi (15.0 PPG). Rebounding: Clark also leads in rebounds per game (7.1 RPG) over Taurasi (4.3 RPG). Assisting: Clark averages more assists per game (7.8 APG) compared to Taurasi (4.5 APG). Shooting Efficiency: Field goal percentages are nearly identical, with Clark at 46.2% and Taurasi at 46.1%.Taurasi has a slightly better 3-point shooting percentage (38.3%) compared to Clark (35.7%).Clark is more efficient from the free-throw line at 85.9%, compared to Taurasi’s 80.7 So please explain to me how Diana as a rookie made it onto the Olympic roster when she was not the best coming out of college even though she benefited from padding her career with championships? Championships she obviously earned because she had an awesome TEAM. Caitlin Clark should have always been in consideration to be on roster much like Diana Taurasi was when she was still a collegiate athlete. Caitlin Clark (Indiana Fever): Points per game (PPG): 15.6 Rebounds per game (RPG): 5.1 Assists per game (APG): 6.4 Steals per game: 1.3 Blocks per game: 1.0 Field Goal Percentage (FG%): 35.7% Three-Point Percentage (3PT%): 29.7% Turnovers per game 5.4 Diana Taurasi (Phoenix Mercury 2024) Points per game (PPG): 14.7 Rebounds per game (RPG): 3.0 Assists per game (APG): 5.4 Steals per game: 0.8 Blocks per game: 0.2 Field Goal Percentage (FG%): 36.9% Three-Point Percentage (3PT%): 32.4% Diana should not be on this roster and her comment are hypocritical. It just show she is an egotistical and selfish person. Nobody in charge and on the team wanted to see Caitlin go off. They did not want to be a part of the overshadowing Caitlin's celebrity would have brought and the potential exciting plays on court she would have done. They did not want to boost this women into the stratosphere by placing her on the global stage. The fanbase in the United States doesn't care about anyone else other than Caitlin. The numbers prove it. The potential of having the world wanting just this women was just too great. The women running the WNBA jealousy truly shows. ALLOWING CAITLIN CLARK TO GET A GOLD MEDAL WOULD HAVE MADE HER A GOD AND THEY DID NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH THAT. SO INSTEAD THEY PREEMPTIVELY CUT THE PRAISE OF HER SHORT BY 4 YEARS. Anyone saying anything negative about Caitlin Clark is a reality denier and drinks HATERADE as part of their diet
maybe because Diana is the better player. Y’all think stats tell the whole story. If Diana was at Iowa should would’ve averaged 25+ ppg. Geno’s system is not like that.
@@sh0t0kan You sound stupid. Clark was allowed to chuck up shots at Iowa and fill up the stat sheet. That does not make her better than anyone. If she played at UConn or Notre Dame should would not have the scoring record and that's just facts. Most of these women played within their coach's system. They weren't allowed to do the shit Bluder allowed Clark to do. And you and everyone else knows this. So acting like this girl is better because of some "stats" is disingenuous. We have eyes. Taurasi was and still is the better player. Don't get the shit twisted.
Same thing with Candice Parker and Breanna Stewart. None of them were the ALL TIME leading NCAA career scorer mens and womens in history and 2 time player of the year.
Best at what? She only stat she is best at is turnovers. She leads the league in turnovers by a large margin. Beyond that, she is 37th in shooting percentage. She is 30th in 3 point shooting. She is a good rookie, .. likely will be rookie of the year. But she is not remotely "the very best in the league." She just isn't.
I’d like to see how well these USA girls would do on a fever team getting doubled more than any other player in wnba face guarded every where on the court let’s see how those ladies play in Clark’s shoes. Clark’s team is hot garbage that’s why other teams can put so much attention on her. Clark’s stats are just as good or better than most of there stats even with this going on and a crazy schedule her rookie season
She is having a good rookie season. Will likely be ROY. Good for her. That doesn't make her an Olympian. And you wearing her jersey this weekend doesn't either.
This year's Team USA is the women's basketball old guard trying to stem the rising tide that is Caitlin Clark. This sets an unfortunate precedent for denying rookies with all sorts of excuses. Am beginning to believe they don't want her to succeed too much coz of the way she has been taking over the league just in her rookie season.

I went to grad school at ODU and I'll never forget the Priest's sermon about one day when he was talking to someone who was showing him the campus saying, "Why would you name your mascot after a BUTTERFLY?!!!!" The person guiding him had to explain that it was after a king lion.
Thank you Ms. Demita, salamat. Ms. Lieberman brought out a very important point regarding those 12th spot. She's right! You should be training for the future. That is why they've had rookies like Diana Taurasi (she should know better) in the Team USA before. So short sighted and no big picture point of view. That is why it's a missed opportunity. 😢
I am tired of the merit arguments, they dont have merit. She is 13th ins scoring and 4th in assits. Fastest to 200 points and 75 assists in league history.. Why is nobody saying this. Its insane and they did not choose the 12 best players either.
um because they want all around players and that is not her. not right now anyway. You just gave your self the answer in your comment. scoring, and assists, oh and scoring. Here I'll help you. Let's take DT. % close to CC in scoring, assist not too bad and with less TO. She can also defend 1on1, and has great leadership. CC is not a leader yet, she has never had to be as that was Kate, her defense 1on1 is not great, and high technical foul count. You cannot blame the TO just on the team, she is stripped a lot has been since college. So she can score, but would be the target to be scored on. Any half decent scout knows this and would target her. IE a defensive liability Anywho, carry on
Such a shame that DT will probably be remembered most for this moment as someone who did not gracefully pass the torch to the younger generation. In her own words, the amazing vets of her time made sure to include and guide her when she was a rookie herself. Now that she's THE vet, she tells the others not to include the Rookie under the guise of "experience matters" - juxtaposed with her vet/rookie words just makes her look jealous and bitter.
I would never have watched this if I had not been drawn to women's basketball by Caitlin Clark. Now, I have to thank Caitlin for bringing another fabulous player and coach to my attention: Nancy Lieberman.
They had at least 3 players that didn't deserve to be on Team USA , and we have the best point guard in the league I Caitlin Clark and they left her off the team for an unknown reason. When I watched Caitlin play I could tell they hurt her feelings. She knew they were going to win so she held back. She could have scored more points and assists but she didn't want to ram it down their throats. But when they got back she has put on a show! Clark is on a different level than any player in the league including Wilson
First of all, long-time Nancy Lieberman fan. The late '70s frequently saw me watching Old Dominion basketball more than the NBA _because_ of her. Great interview, ladies... This week could easily be subtitled "Mean Girls: The WNBA Edition." Incredibly disappointed in Diana Taurasi. Rather than choosing to mentor a player who is bringing eyes, attention, and fans to a league which has never been profitable in its 28 years of existence, she is apparently leading the charge to maintain the NBA's role as "sugar daddy" while the players continue to sustain a pointless argument about pay equity. Like her or not, Caitlin has grown interest and sold tickets. I still believe Chelsea Gray will not be able to compete and they will send Caitlin to Paris, but the brand damage is done.
I love how Nancy talks about the Team USA program. and I believe they should send Clark, Arike, and one or two other young players. FOR THE FUTURE as Nancy says. This whole thing stinks of betrayal by Team USA to me. Team USA developed Caitlin, she did everything you could ask a young player to do to prove theyre ready. Her junior and senior year she beat both defending champions, she lifted a team that hadn't been to the final four in 30 years to two consecutive finals games. her senior year she led the NCAA in scoring and assists, breaking the all time scoring record while amassing a total of 46 records and awards. Not one member of that roster can say they did that. Not good enough you say, then how did she get to 200 points and 75 assists faster than anyone in wnba history? She'd have half as many turnovers and more assists if her teammates could handle a pass. Diana Taurasi says she won 3 rings like she did it on her own. This roster is individuals, not teams. Hey Caitlin, 3x Staley award winner, you're not a good enough PG. Diana Taurasi being on this team is an insult to Team USA, not good enough to have as many medals and records as your teammates. She's got to have one more. Shouldn't Team USA be as loyal to the young developing player as they are the veteran? All of Clark's achievements used to mean something. Iowa in the Final Four 2 years in a row, and breaking scoring and assist records would more than likely make every stuck up player from one of the many powerhouse alma maters. Why is Caitlin Clark so hated in the WNBA? Because Lisa Bluder and her girls dismantled everybody that got in their way until LSU. But they got their revenge, just like SC did. You talk about the jealousy against her in the league. Aliyah Boston, Rookie of the Year. When does she show up or does she keep on stickin with the homies when they mistreat her teammates? Aint like she broke Kelsey Mitchell's Big 10 scoring record or anything like that. CC22's stats show she's not the problem on the team. These three should be lighting it up. Why aren't they? I saw Kelsey pass a couple times the other day, they won. Next game, she forgot how to pass. I'm not saying CC22 doesnt make mistakes or get outplayed, but she's better than advertised.
This has nothing to do picking the best it’s about building a team that will represent the USA without bringing in hatred or being envious because they are all afraid that the spotlight won’t be on them instead of thinking how much more exposure they will all get. This is a benefit for the team and the league. To be honest I had heard of some of these players but never really cared to watch until Caitlin Clark only because she is such an exciting player to watch.
I do not find her game exciting all, but I do not need to bash her to make the players I do like relevant . This is the problem with CC fans. One y'all keep mentioning the league, which this has nothing to do with nor should it, 2 ya'll seem to think she should just be given things she didn't earn (she did not attend any of the team workouts or tryout), and yes she could have that was her decision not to, YOU never really cared to watch, but others did, hell other teams have been selling out. She is not the best all around player in the pool of players they had to choose from, she's not even the best all around positional player. When she has no chemistry and practice she still slings the rock like baseball and expects those she hasn't even practiced with to be psychic. THE OC who literally has one job, to win wasn't messing with this tomfoolery.
i got my first work interview at the age of 18...it was a fastfood crew job..the interviewer asked me if i have an experience..my answer is no i dont have and continued to ask her..how can i have an experience if you dont give me one..i even asked her if they have a first timer fastfood crew who have experience as a fastfood crew before...to make the story short i didnt get the job..its nuts !!!
Sorry to say, but I’m not watching any Women’s Olympic Basketball games, mainly for the sheer dumbness of not capitalizing on Caitlin Clark’s commercial draw and how it could grow and expand the WNBA.

Rachel, there is already a big 3 league for women in the works called Unrivaled - a professional women’s 3-on-3, six-team league co-founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier
They need Caitlin to bring in her fans. I wish Caitlin would play only for the Big 3 and take her fans with her. WNBA will not change for the better. Now, would she lose her endorsements
At this point I think it would be in the best interest of CC to NOT play on the Olympic team if a spot opened up. They have already shown their lack of concern for the league and it would further cause division if she made the team now.
Clark don’t need them they need clark. Clark will always have those endorsements while they’re stuck on their pathetic salary. I’m from Canada and we all know that Jordan exploded the game of basketball together with Nike . Ask anyone in other countries if they know a woman US olympic player who got gold medals, nobody knows. They can have Olympic every month and win hundreds of gold but very few knows. Now they have the world in their hands and threw it away. Caitlin don’t need the olympic to get endorsements in Europe they will come to her like Prada. Look at WTA community who respect each other no matter how fierce they battle. They have the prize money as the mens . They are global just like the NBA get big money and revenue
@@annajordan243 Washington game attendance grew from 4000 to 19000 because Clark came to play. Stat says it all. It is Clark driving WNBA forward. Indiana ticket price increases 3 folds. WNBA has a golden goose now.

Crazy how Cube has grown big 3 to a profitable in a short WNBAhas not over 3 decades. I had tge opportunity working with ice cube management company when I worked on with a TV Portal startup
the main argument these 2 ladies have is popularity over meritocracy. Y'all just want to give the woman everything without her having earned it. Honestly this has been going on since she came up short in the biggest moment.
Did Taurasi, Stewart and Parker earn it??? No they didn’t so why is it that CC is the one that has to “Earn it” hell did Cameron Brink earn it? She’s going with thw 3x3 team! Don’t seeing you shitting on her! Her not winning a national title means literally Nothing! Ya know why? Because Angel Reese who did win one went 7th, Cam went 2nd no national title no number one scoring record, Cordoso just won and she went 3rd! So stop with the bullshit! Hell the people that win the national title have not translated to the pros on Numerous occasions! Idk why yall put so much damn stock in that! Not winning doesn’t define a player!
The main argument is the fact that CC haters expose themselves as anti-White innumerates. Taurasi didn't earn it as a rookie. Stewart didn't earn it as a rookie. Parker didn't earn it as a rookie. More importantly, Gray, Griner and Taurasi don't deserve to be on Team USA now.
@@gregharper6382you have made the best argument, CC doesn’t belong in the WNBA or play in Europe. She would be better suited playing for Ice Cube Big 3. WNBA is not what she expected, lack of professionalism. Her own team demonstrated jealousy and she she is making them better players.
I'm from France but I'm watching this team and I will support them because I love A'ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart and Chelsea Gray. This is a collective sport. It's not about one player.
It's interesting for Nancy to say a spot for the future. Watching the playoffs this year, I saw only 7 of 8 players getting into the game. So, to have 3 players on the team that played subpar and 2 having injury issues, it is not a stretch to say a rookie or well deserving college player a spot. Sadly, for the WNBA, the future has already started, and they let the hate and jealousy out of the bag. Now the fans know how petty some of the players are and are not smart enough to appreciate what could be the new better future for every player.
Can’t the women’s team just come out and straight up say they went the Isiah Thomas 92’ action on Caitlin Clark. Is there one coach that isn’t Lisa Bluder that can handle massive media spotlight?
They should have put Reese and Clark in the 11 12 spots for experience. They won't need to be 12 deep to win this year. Our youngest player with Olympic experience will be 30 in 2028. Not thinking about the future.
What about M/F co-teams for the Big3? I grew up watching roller derby where the men and women switched by quarters. That would be a way to bring women into the Big3.
I agree, but honestly Caitlin is going to double her sponsorships from about $5 million per year to perhaps $10, million per year during the Olympic break. After the break we are going to see tons and tons of new CC sponsorships for millions more per year. What large company doesn’t wanna piece of the Caitlin Clark effect?😉👍
DT is injured and at 42, even if she comes back she is not going to be 100%.. CC would out perform her and get more playing time than some may think.. In my opinion CC is the best point guard in the league already and only 1/2 way through her 1st year.. Put CC on a team with the best veterans and marvelous things would happen.. CC is the best passer in the league and sees things develop before they even exits and the veterans would excel even beyond their own beliefs..
I need the wnba to explain it to me why they didn’t pick Caitlin for Olympics when they picked Taurasi, Lobo, Candice Parker and I’m sure other ones in forgetting as rookies! That’s just another way she’s being targeted bc of her stats and status
Caitlin is going to be on the Olympic team in Los Angeles 2028. She is probably going to be joined by Paige Bueckers, Kate Martin, Angel Reese, Cameron Brink and that is when they are going to be shown on Prime Time live. I bet she won't be left off the team then. Not in America. They will definitely be the Dream Team. Right now, They do not even televise that US Olympic basketball, unless it is in the early morning hours when everyone is asleep or on a channel where limited people have access to.
Let’s all salute to Nancy Lieberman who is a true legend with unbelievable knowledge and experience in basketball games!!!Both WNBA commissioner and US Women’s Basketball chairwoman are airheads!
i think Caitlin could play in the Big 3! She could hit some 3's maybe not as physical as formal NBA players but she could hold her own. i mean making a million vs 80k and still getting beat up!
The arguments for both sides of this issue have valid points, and the arguments to keep her off would be even more meaningful - if there were no point of reference or precedent. There are - Based on history; factual, evidentiary history; from previous Olympics, from before we selected pros and the most recent Olympic teams, and in support of the Olympic mission and the supposed desire of the WNBA to grow - there is absolutely zero argument to leaving her off the roster, because of such precedents. The decision COMPLETELY invalidates their desire to grow, especially while the numbers are peaking. This is a step back, and a severe lack of VISION, which is exactly why the WNBA is where it is and not where it wants to be. . The team will win without CC. They’ll win the gold, but they just lost the hearts and minds of millions of new and prospective fans - which would’ve translated into revenue and a better lifestyle for EVERYONE in the WNBA. . Personally, imagine CC, Reese, and Brink on that team. New blood. Show the world a new era of dominance, while the vets - the old warriors gracefully step down with their heads high and support the new players coming in. Imagine the numbers - for EVERYONE. Realistically, that’s a tough ask…
@@annajordan243 the only thing they built is a money pit. WNBA has been generating millions in debt every single year for 28 years of their existence. The only reason WNBA even exists is because NBA pay them to cover their loses.
@@annajordan243 every one lives in a house someone else built. In most sports you bring in new players to build the future. So in four years time most of these players are going to pass their use by date so you will have a team with no high level experience. That seems stupid.
HI everyone, THIS IS NO JOKE, I am currently in Europe and was going to go to the Olympics just to watch Caitlin Clark play. Well obviously that has changed. So, I am asking for some suggestions to make a NICE RESPECTFULL T- shirt as I am 70 years old. Something to show the world how we feel about these thugs that are suppose to represent team USA. PLEASE be respectful . I promise I will make sure someone takes notice
Would it not be better for the selection committee to simply speak the truth, that the committee and the players are not comfortable with her and that her presence would compromise team cohesion. Clark should publicly announce that she will not interfere with Team U.S.A. success in any way. Plus there's always the chance she might get hurt, accidentally, by her team mates, in practice, accidentally.
The Olympic Committee and Cheryl Reese has made a huge mistake. It's called the Cheryl Reese Effect. Cheryl Reese said she doesn't give two Sh$s about CC's Fans. The ladies on the Olympic Team will win Gold with or without CC. But the WMBA has said they want to grow the WMBA. The biggest draw of eyes and you'll said CC is not good enough. Great now you can play in front of empty stands. When the stands are full they are not there to watch Team USA. No merchandise will be sold. You all have made your bed so lay in it.
I think CC would have been great at the Olympics, but would they have given her enough minutes to be effective probably not. I believe that CC needs some rest. she has gone from the College tournament to the WNBA unless than a year. This why she has so many turn overs, plus she is pushing herself too hard. Then there all the media attention, interviews after interviews, she has hardly had any time to breathe. So not being in the Olympics might actually give her some time to rest and refocus. She deserves some time for herself. She is still young and I'm sure she will be awesome in the next Olympics.
Nancy Lieberman, one of the legends for women’s basketball 🏀!
Well then is a great thing this is NOT about the WNBA isn't it? She is not good enough period. THE OC's job is to win, also PERIOD.
@@shonp3761 Oh, you think putting 'PERIOD' after your contentious statement means it can't be argued with?

I would argue that CC has a higher basketball IQ than all the head coaches in the W. Making the argument that CC would somehow be a "weak link" in the Olympic roster is insane at best.
Absolutely agree. To think CC wouldn’t fit in with that much talent around her is unfathomable.
if hwr basketball IQ is so great, why is her defense so bad? Why so many turnovers.

Comparison of Key Players:
Diana Taurasi (UConn, 2000-2004)
- Points per game: 15.0
- Rebounds per game: 4.3
- Assists per game: 4.5
- Total points: 2,156
- Championships: 3 (2002, 2003, 2004)
- Awards: Naismith College Player of the Year (2003, 2004)
Alana Beard (Duke, 2000-2004)
- Points per game: 19.8
- Rebounds per game: 6.1
- Assists per game: 3.7
- Total points: 2,687
- Championships: 0
- Awards: Wade Trophy (2004), Wooden Award (2004)
Seimone Augustus (LSU, 2002-2006)
- Points per game: 19.3
- Rebounds per game: 5.2
- Assists per game: 1.6
- Total points: 2,702
- Championships: 0
- Awards: Naismith College Player of the Year (2005, 2006)
Cappie Pondexter (Rutgers, 2002-2006)

- Rebounds per game: 4.0
- Assists per game: 3.9
- Total points: 2,211
- Championships: 0
- Awards: Big East Player of the Year (2006)
While Taurasi had an extraordinary college career with both impressive individual stats and team success, other players like Alana Beard and Seimone Augustus were also outstanding but did not achieve the same level of team success in terms of championships.
Caitlin Clark (Iowa, 2020-2024):
Points per game (PPG): 27.1
Rebounds per game (RPG): 7.1
Assists per game (APG): 7.8
Field Goal Percentage (FG%): 46.2%
3-Point Field Goal Percentage (3P%): 35.7%
Free Throw Percentage (FT%): 85.9%
Diana Taurasi (UConn, 2000-2004):
Points per game (PPG): 15.0
Rebounds per game (RPG): 4.3
Assists per game (APG): 4.5
Field Goal Percentage (FG%):: 46.1%
3-Point Field Goal Percentage (3P%): 38.3%
Free Throw Percentage (FT%): 80.7%
Caitlin Clark has a higher scoring average (27.1 PPG) compared to Diana Taurasi (15.0 PPG).
Rebounding: Clark also leads in rebounds per game (7.1 RPG) over Taurasi (4.3 RPG).
Assisting: Clark averages more assists per game (7.8 APG) compared to Taurasi (4.5 APG).
Shooting Efficiency: Field goal percentages are nearly identical, with Clark at 46.2% and Taurasi at 46.1%.Taurasi has a slightly better 3-point shooting percentage (38.3%) compared to Clark (35.7%).Clark is more efficient from the free-throw line at 85.9%, compared to Taurasi’s 80.7
So please explain to me how Diana as a rookie made it onto the Olympic roster when she was not the best coming out of college even though she benefited from padding her career with championships? Championships she obviously earned because she had an awesome TEAM. Caitlin Clark should have always been in consideration to be on roster much like Diana Taurasi was when she was still a collegiate athlete.
Caitlin Clark (Indiana Fever):
Points per game (PPG): 15.6
Rebounds per game (RPG): 5.1
Assists per game (APG): 6.4
Steals per game: 1.3
Blocks per game: 1.0
Field Goal Percentage (FG%): 35.7%
Three-Point Percentage (3PT%): 29.7%
Turnovers per game 5.4
Diana Taurasi (Phoenix Mercury 2024)
Points per game (PPG): 14.7
Rebounds per game (RPG): 3.0
Assists per game (APG): 5.4
Steals per game: 0.8
Blocks per game: 0.2
Field Goal Percentage (FG%): 36.9%
Three-Point Percentage (3PT%): 32.4%

Nobody in charge and on the team wanted to see Caitlin go off. They did not want to be a part of the overshadowing Caitlin's celebrity would have brought and the potential exciting plays on court she would have done. So well said!! Just honest.
Great interview.
Nancy Lieberman is the best
Very true you’re Right
USA Team made a huge mistake by not pick a superstar Caitlin Clark she the greatest player I ever met
i got my first work interview at the age of 18...it was a fastfood crew job..the interviewer asked me if i have an experience..my answer is no i dont have and continued to ask her..how can i have an experience if you dont give me one..i even asked her if they have a first timer fastfood crew who have experience as a fastfood crew before...to make the story short i didnt get the job..its nuts !!!
They do not want CC to be invited to the party let alone be the MC. They will call her after the party to clean up all of their puke.
Two dawgs! Fun to watch .........
Love your show girl!
Sorry to say, but I’m not watching any Women’s Olympic Basketball games, mainly for the sheer dumbness of not capitalizing on Caitlin Clark’s commercial draw and how it could grow and expand the WNBA.
20 million people watched the last one your one view ain’t gonna make a difference the Olympics is a world wide event Caitlin isn’t a national superstar like Micheal Jackson or something like everywhere he went hundreds of thousands people followed him😭😭😭😭😂she’s not big trust me bro
@@jamaarisquare979 you didn’t graduate high school bro , Nancy Lieberman is a bb legend ain’t no one “trusting you bro “ 🤣😅
I 300000000% AGREE TO BOTH OF YOU abt Caitlin Clark to b n USA Team
Can Caitlin play on the Olympic 3 on 3 tournament?
No that team bas been decided. Cameron Brink made that team and will be an Olympian
You wanted the WNBA to need catlin, i can't figure out why
@@annajordan243 Washington game attendance grew from 4000 to 19000 because Clark came to play. Stat says it all. It is Clark driving WNBA forward. Indiana ticket price increases 3 folds. WNBA has a golden goose now.
@@annajordan243 You wanted WNBA players to get paid and have no idea how.
@@annajordan243 brig, the WNBA has been a broke welfare project since its inception.
WHAT? This is hilarious. Sorry, but again huh? You do know that Womens basketball is MORE popular overseas right. These players have fans over there already, they get paid multiple times more playing over there. NCAA game sold out over there(she wasn't in that game either)...They don't need her at ALL. Whew y'all crack me up. I cannot wait for the CC Cult Netflix special...It is going to be wild
Boycott the olympics
Why?
That won't happen. Clark should play in Europe after her contract expires. Why support a league full of jealousy and hatered
Crazy how Cube has grown big 3 to a profitable in a short WNBAhas not over 3 decades. I had tge opportunity working with ice cube management company when I worked on with a TV Portal startup
Legend!!!
the main argument these 2 ladies have is popularity over meritocracy.
Good for you. But that's not whats being discussed. Listen carefully.
I'm supporting Team USA as well 🥱
Nancy actually understands unlike some women
It's interesting for Nancy to say a spot for the future. Watching the playoffs this year, I saw only 7 of 8 players getting into the game. So, to have 3 players on the team that played subpar and 2 having injury issues, it is not a stretch to say a rookie or well deserving college player a spot. Sadly, for the WNBA, the future has already started, and they let the hate and jealousy out of the bag. Now the fans know how petty some of the players are and are not smart enough to appreciate what could be the new better future for every player.
They didn’t want people to complain if she was on the sidelines and didn’t get much play time so they decided to give her zero time at all 😂 brilliant
EVERYONE, including most of ESPN who aren't Shannon Sharpe and Stephen A Smith, LISTEN TO WHAT SHE IS SAYING. She is authority on women's basketball.
Can’t the women’s team just come out and straight up say they went the Isiah Thomas 92’ action on Caitlin Clark.
Is there one coach that isn’t Lisa Bluder that can handle massive media spotlight?
Bluder folded in the spotlight. Thats why iowa went 0-2 in nattys
It was Jordan who didn't want Isiah on the team so it wasn't going to happen
Nancy Lieberman gets it
They should have put Reese and Clark in the 11 12 spots for experience. They won't need to be 12 deep to win this year. Our youngest player with Olympic experience will be 30 in 2028. Not thinking about the future.
What’s the lottery numbers .? Does anyone no..?
What about M/F co-teams for the Big3? I grew up watching roller derby where the men and women switched by quarters. That would be a way to bring women into the Big3.
If you want to pick Caitlin Clark for the USA basketball team for leadership, what about the other rookies, such as Cameron Brinks or Angel Reese?
I agree with everything Nancy said. Salute to a legend.
Before they started putting pro’s on Olympic teams (was that in 1992?) it was always the star college players. Caitlin Clark certainly was that.
U speak truth
DT is injured and at 42, even if she comes back she is not going to be 100%.. CC would out perform her and get more playing time than some may think.. In my opinion CC is the best point guard in the league already and only 1/2 way through her 1st year.. Put CC on a team with the best veterans and marvelous things would happen.. CC is the best passer in the league and sees things develop before they even exits and the veterans would excel even beyond their own beliefs..
For marketing purposes, let her play 5-8 minutes, give her tough screens and let her make 2 logo threes. Everybody is happy!
❤❤❤❤❤
I love your answers. But the veterans doesn't want Caitlin to grow because they know it will overshadow all of them.
They had to move Taurasi and Griner out and replace them with Caitlin and Boston. I love to see them pick and roll in the Olympics.
it's gemini seasonnnnnn, happeeeee berfdayyyy
i think Caitlin could play in the Big 3!
It's funny watching people who NEVER cared about the WNBA growing ...all of a sudden say "it can't GROW" unless we use CATLIN
It's estimated that CC will bring in $80-100 million to the league. Yet, WNBA is expected to lose $50 million this year.
@@CodyCha Problem is .....Catlin clark is walking into a house someone else built
the women before her did the HARD WORK
@@annajordan243 the only thing they built is a money pit.
Maybe cc should of gone big 3!! I bet she would ve happier right now.
WNBA has an attitude problem. I only watch for CC and KM. If they are determined to grind down CC to prove a point, then all of us will lose.
No one person is bigger than the sport.
They make this girl out like she’s a national superstar😭😭😭😂the girl can hoop but these Caitlin fans are really a cult this shit getting ridiculous
@@jamaarisquare979right,the girl isn't that good,She was a great College player but couldn't win the Big one.Her fans are like a Cult🥱
What would Clark do that would interfere with Team USA’s success? She has already said she would be pulling for them.
@@shf4592The very likelihood that her teammates would hurt her!
Maybe Nike should release USA jerseys #22 Clark and watch sales go through the roof 🏀
NBA finals viewership is behind fever fans?
Send Fever tickets to courtside?
Fever would like too !
Oh if the lynx had number one pick...reeves would of grabbed clark and she would be on the usa team now..
No chance. Reeve is a far Left LGBTQ+P activist.
Caitlin will be fine the USA roster all filled with vets
in this case vets= old, bitter, uninteresting to fans who play 'old-time-hockey' only with a basketball and cheapshot elbows.
"vets" is coded language for old, injured, and LGBTQ+P
