This battle is where Con. Lt. Dixon, of The Hunley fame was shot in the leg but was saved by the infamous $20 gold piece he later had engraved. I believe it’s on display. It’s a beautiful park.
It's crazy isn't it. Then I forget his wife or girlfriend died, I think he was in depression and got involved with the Huntley. I mean when he got involved, it had gone down about 3 times, I think.
I visited Shiloh shortly after I moved to Tennessee without knowing much about the battle. I've studied up on it since and I hope to return one day now that I can make more sense of the troop movements. Thanks for a great video, it is most appreciated.
You two are awesome! This was a top-notch video that included an incredible tour and explanation and excellent filming, editing and music. It has been so much fun to watch your channel grow and change and I am so grateful to be a part. Love you both!
I enjoyed you guys' video, very nice editing and terrific attention to details. I loved the description of how the weather contributed to the overall outcome of the battle. Fort Pillow and Shiloh are near and dear to my heart as they are the first two battlefields I was able to explore as they are close to me as each is about an hour and a half away. I enjoy your channel!!! Ya'lls choice of music is phenomenal. Too bad these soldiers are not alive to see the respect given to their actions now, but that's more along the lines of why my channels are about lol. Wonderful video!
Love this video. Having visited that battlefield, it's still so amazing to see your footage. Great job from both of you. BtW, who, in your opinion was a better General? Sherman or Grant
Great video! While Shiloh Battlefield is one of the best-preserved battlefields I wonder if you had a chance to visit the Indian Monds just east of the battlefield? Are there any plans to visit Fort Pillow?
Thank you so much. I do History Capsules and talk about American History in spanish. To explain Latino Americans the core history of The United States. Sometimes it's difficult because of lack of motivation in schools. But as UA-camrs its our motivation to bring knowledge and demonstrate how these American figures shaped America to this day. Thanks. Im subbed 🎉❤
I have often wondered if Johston had lived, would Grant get the boost he needed to be the commander in chief. Think about it Forts Henry and Donaldson, then Shiloh, Vicksburg, then after the ANV. He was a better soldier than POTUS.

Ooohhh. Good question. Both were so good because of each other…I don’t know! 😂
@@WalkwithHistory I have to lean a bit more towards Sherman. His march to the sea was just brilliant
Great job Jenn.
Thanks! 😊

Poor Reconnaissance - Lazy on Union Side ? 🤔
Interesting for sure
It's pronounced Core-inth. Not Core-nith.
