the slate black is Marblack Slate Blacking from Meadows and Passmore Ltd on eBay. the "wax" hand polish i use is an old tin (and i mean old - 15 years or so when i ran thistle joinery (website as www.simonspencerdesigns.co.uk for students use) and it was called Briwax specially designed for polishing the pine furniture fashionable in the 70s. it is a wax white sprit based and is applied sparingly by hand and polished after an hour or two min when the spirt has evaporated. It is available on ebay and not expensive. there maybe better stuff or quicker but i am not in a hurry and i have used it on pine for ages. I am a novice so dont take my word for it being the best. good luck
Sorry I am very much a novice at making videos. I had my UA-cam tuned in to keep me relaxed and I didn't realise that it would be so distracting. But the prep of the slate has been useful to a few interested people. My hobby is restoring old clocks and I hope that my comments may help others who like me are new to the experience.
Nicely done! Appreciate the operatic interludes too...
