Limited edition print is a print originally conceived to be a print such as etching ,drypoint ,metal engraving, mezzotint ,wood cut ,wood engraving, linocut ,monoprint, screenprint and recently digital printmaking......a print made from an existing artwork is a photocopy....not much more(in my opinion)...if that photocopy is hand embellished to try and give it value, its a grey area...but needs EV (edition variable )written on it along with the edition number....Artists proof should only be 10 percent exrta on top of the edotion ...and numbered ...ie AP 4/10.(edition was originally 100)...as set out by the Royal Society of painter printmakers over 100 years ago.A considered top end amount for an edition...again set out by the RE (Royal society of Painter printmakers ...once called the Royal Engravers...hence.. RE)is 150..and thats a large edition.I
