So I don’t know if you remember me, I was the blind girl with the white cane who came to your old Studios and baked you guys cookies in December 2011. I was 11 years old and I have been listening to your stations since I was four. I recognize your voice and I remember you saying to me and I quote, sometimes I turn on mix 106.5 when I get tired of the Christmas music. You said that because I noticed a song was playing on the radio that was not Christmas music. I think it was called 18 or daydream or something. You were standing in front of me. I was the little blind girl that gave you guys peanut butter, chocolate kiss cookies, and crinkle cookies on a big tray.
Yes, there was a lot of old stuff in there. I wanted to take one of the reel-to-reels, but my wife didn't want one more piece of old audio equipment in the house. With regard to the name change: the company did a big research project and discovered that most people still called us "K-BAY" instead of "Bay FM," so they decided to just go with the flow and call ourselves that too. The research project also told us exactly what songs people want to hear, so we've adjusted to play those songs. Not a format change, but a freshening to play the songs that were most popular.
