- An extensive and wide-ranging interview with Peter Tork from 1999. Peter came to WGLD, Indianapolis for a morning interview, and then signed autographs for fans later that day.
Okay, this interview wasn't exactly "lost." It aired once, live in 1999, and the recording has been in a box in my closet on a cassette ever since. I just listened for the first time, after 20 years.
All of us at the station remember Peter as being charming, open, honest and smart. A lovely man, and we're glad we got to spend a day with him. Hope you enjoy this interview!

I was 12 years old. I had such a crush on Peter Tork. Love ya Bob.
You don't anymore?
I love this man......so different than his character on the Monkees. What an actor!!! Singer! So talented 😍
Very talented! And yes what I tell everyone about Peter is that Peter the Monkee was a character he played, and that in reality he was not like that. Very smart and thoughtful man.
I met Peter for the first time during the time of this interview on a tour he did with James Lee Stanley. This brought me back to that lovely time. Thanks for posting
Late to the game, but thank you for sharing and posting. Thank you
Combined with his good looks and pleasant personality he could also play a variety of instruments including guitar banjo bass keyboards ECT. All in all he had a lot going for him.
He really did. Very talented man.
How I love this man!! Thanks for posting - if there is an afterlife, there will be one of him for EACH of us who wants him :)
You have made a beautiful statement... :)
@@robbrown4621 Basically the "Many Worlds Interpretation" by Hugh Everett - that all possible scenarios have happened or will happen. Since this would mean one of Peter for each Torkee, "I'm a Believer!" (Pun intended, LOL)
@@bluestmarble9934 It's a beautiful idea. :) It also connects with the desire that I have to go back to the moment when I once met Peter, briefly. I would like to be able to expand that moment into what I imagine it could have been...
Do I have to sign up? Where???
This was wonderful. Loved listening to this!!
Still love him
Brilliant-historical document!
Thanks for listening, Brian. One of my all-time favorite interview subjects.
Wonderful, amazing interview! Thank you for sharing! ❤
You're welcome! Thanks for listening. One of the funnest days of my radio career.
Thank you for this - very interesting. I miss him a lot.
Hi, Eleanor, and thank you. I'm really glad I got to meet him and spend a day with him.
@@Brucieee1 How wonderful! I never met him, but interviews like this one help a lot.
I would be very happy if some fans would quit putting Davy down. You know he is some fans favorite, so please keep that in mind. I try not to put the other guys down, I liked all the guys. Thanks.
Hi, Judith! I agree! I, for one, am too busy singing to put anybody down!!!
Good interview...
Thank you! He was so open and honest with me!
@@Brucieee1 I'm a huge fan of the monkees and it was nice to listen to him discuss his life in a calmign way with out him boucying off the ceiling...
Glad I found this . thanx for digging this out of your closet👍😄
My pleasure! It was a real trip for me to hear this again. Thanks for listening!
This is very cool!!!
Thank you for this
This is an amazing interview! Thank you.
Thanks for listening! It was fun for me to find and post this.
colgems could have let him sing more songs!
I would have loved to hear more of him singing lead too. Songs like "Words" really shine because of his vocal parts.
Hi Bruce, would I be able to discuss this interview with you in relation to a book I am writing? Thanks, Mel

@@Brucieee1 apologies for the delay, I’ve only just seen your reply. I have just sent through an email.
