Cute vlog! Eacb child so beautiful in their own unique personalities, my favorite though was when Allie shushed you away because Rhett wanted to hear the story! Glad to see everyone is better from the sickness in last week's vlog!
Alyssa: "what do you think the swimming instructors gonna teach you?" Zoey: "How to swim" 😄 pretty much summed it up lol she's too cute and smart too. Maci is too adorable🙏 she no longer needs the Pacifier. John is a champ ☺ all the best. Have a great week!
Some kids just take longer. My mom always used to say "You don't see adults walking around with dummies, everyone gives it up eventually so don't worry about it too much."
Can't wait to see the new vlog and hope you guys have a great Friday afternoon and evening with the kids and can't wait to hear about Maci and hope you guys have a wonderful weekend ahead.
I appreciate that you were able to give Maci some "slack" in her "big girl" endeavors... She is so smart and accepting a new baby and becoming a big sister is already a huge adjustment that she seems to be making very well.
I did the same about the paci to get my daughter off it. The next step I took after awake time no paci, was nap time no paci but could still at night. Then fully took it away after that! She's getting there! Good job Maci! You can do it!
Yuck lizards haha I'm so glad they aren't afraid of them because I sure am. Yay! No more paci, Keep up the Good job Maci 😁 dont go back haha love the big girl bed.
Have you heard about snipping the end and telling her it’s broken. It worked for both of mine! And the big girl bed + the broken pacy worked for my daughter.
Great advice on the transition to the big girl bed for naps. I’m going to admit my ignorance- why Rhett called Baby Brooks? That’s how it sounded….thnx!
We did the same thing with our son and his paci only at bedtime. It worked great until the day our son thru his last paci behind his bed... my husband and I looked at each other and said gone gone bye-bye for forever and that was the end of him using a paci! 😆 he missed it for a few days and would try to look under and behind his bed for it. But it worked! He thought it disappeared behind his bed and was gone for forever 😆
Cutting a tiny hole on the pacifier and increasing the size of the hole every day will definitely make Macy decide it's not enjoyable anymore. You can also snip the rubber part shorter every day 😉. It works like a charm if you are ok with doing that!
It was a very rough 3 days when my youngest gave up her pacifier. ( wasn't her choice) I had her put them outside in a Christmas bag, for Santa to come pick up and take to the new babies. She was all on board until she looked outside and the pacifiers were gone. Nighttime was hard, but only for 3 days. My oldest daughter was visiting my mother and my youngest thought she lost it in the basement, while my mother got rid of it. I hate to think my daughter walked around all day looking for it. But it's always hard to take it away! Good luck!
If you don’t get rid of the pacifier at a year old, it gets increasingly harder with every month. She really would be ok after a few nights, if you don’t give in.
My middle daughter loved her paci. I let her keep it under her pillow and let her have it at night. She did use it until she was three and then just wasn’t interested. Every child is different and they say that sometimes kids need to suck longer because it soothes them.
@ryanm7249 thats a good thought, But they said they were going to send the paci's to Baby Brooks, Brooklyn is an older child, she isn't a baby and wouldn't need paci's
We just had my toddler wean off of paci and we had him “pay” for a new toy with his pacis. Did very well. When he asked for it we said it’s at the store and he was over it pretty fast.
Maci is so sweet! What a fun family you have! I love everything about your vlogs. The only thing that kind of bothers me, for some reason is the music to the new intro. I love the pictures and everything ! How about using the melody of do re mi! Or may be the melody of Amazing Grace, or Jesus loves me! Just ideas. But I love the intro of pictures! Love your family! Could John please recite some of the Book of Proverbs for us!
You are both very sweet. Big Girl Bed!! Yay!! 👶🛌 My bio-mother never gave me a dummy but my brother had one until 1.5 years. My sister had one until almost 4 years old. 😢 She had to have braces because of it. Baby Rhett is precious!!
We did exactly that with our girls. We started with just nap and bed time for the pacifier and kept praising them throughout the day. Then they just gave it up on their own during the night time.
We give my 20 month old his pacifier only to take naps and for bed. And when he got up he has to leave it in his bed. Sometimes he doesn’t even remember to use it when we put him to be 😊
Once my daughter started walking, we just started keeping one "suckie" in the crib and the other in the carseat. They couldn't be taken from either place. It was pretty easy actually.
With both of my kids I cut the tip of the paci off.... Then i told them "it is broken....". I let them throw the broken paci in the garbage.... That ended the addiction. Haha
There is a book I used for my boys called the binky fairy I think it’s called my youngest will be 24 tomorrow. But it’s basically says you help the little one gather all binky & put them in an envelope & put them in the mailbox then in the morning the binky fairy puts a toy, book etc in the mailbox for them. Just make sure you get all the binky s because my youngest had a couple binkys stashed in his toy box & in the car we didn’t know about lol
I sucked my thumb until i was 5 yeats old and in kindergarten. I saw Cabbage Patch Kid dolls when they first arruved at JCPenney and that was all it took. I was given the doll and told she would be taken away if i sucked my thimb again. It worked like magic! Im now a well-adjusted nurse and momma so it didn't ruin all my chances at a decent life. Kids all developed at their own pace. As you know kindness builds more bridges then power struggles and loud voices!
The baby not unexpected focuses more on the camera than real life humans …I think a good experiment as to how the baby developed as life goes on..delightful to see one of the kids enjoying the outdoors!!! So sweet to see your daughter reading the book to Brett, until the camera redirects his focus..great to see Allie picked up on this!
John has the patience of a saint with all those little fingers wanting to help ❤
Macy has grown up so much recently, she's taking a lot more!!
Maci was giving a look like, “Maci did not decide to do this, you did Momma.”😂😂😂😂
It's pretty obvious the parents wanted this, for whatever reason.
@@sbg2520kids should give up the paci by age one. The longer they have one the harder it will be to give up.
Cute vlog! Eacb child so beautiful in their own unique personalities, my favorite though was when Allie shushed you away because Rhett wanted to hear the story! Glad to see everyone is better from the sickness in last week's vlog!
Maci has really grown and I love her expressions. You two are great parents.
Awwww Maci is so cute! She was having none of it LOL! Absolutely adorable 😊
Alyssa: "what do you think the swimming instructors gonna teach you?"
Zoey: "How to swim" 😄 pretty much summed it up lol she's too cute and smart too.
Maci is too adorable🙏 she no longer needs the Pacifier.
John is a champ
☺ all the best. Have a great week!
Maci's expressions are so funny. Such a sweet family. ❤❤
Aww Maci is too cute 🥰 you are so blessed with all your beautiful children! Thank you for sharing xx
Maxi is getting so tall. Love how the girls want to help John ❤
Sweetest girls Maci is so adorable! Love You Y’all! Love and Prayers Always
It seems since Rhett was born Maci has grown up so much.
Some kids just take longer. My mom always used to say "You don't see adults walking around with dummies, everyone gives it up eventually so don't worry about it too much."
That dimple on Rhett is adorable
Can't wait to see the new vlog and hope you guys have a great Friday afternoon and evening with the kids and can't wait to hear about Maci and hope you guys have a wonderful weekend ahead.
She is too adorable for words. All your babies are amazing.
John and Allyssa you are great parents so understanding each child is different and has different needs and does things at different stages
Maci is getting so tall her vocabulary has increased greatly. Beautiful family.
There is no hiding how she really feels!😅 love it! Precious girl👏💗
Maci is getting so big. So cute.
Maci is so adorable. Lexi is so brave catching lizards.
All the girls and now Rhett growing up so fast
You have the kindest spirit Allyssa.
I'm so thankful yall feeling better❤😊
Good I am glad your taking your time with her. Good your patient with her. Rhet is adorable ❤😊
I appreciate that you were able to give Maci some "slack" in her "big girl" endeavors... She is so smart and accepting a new baby and becoming a big sister is already a huge adjustment that she seems to be making very well.
I enjoy watching your videos and you sharing your life with us. The background music makes it difficult to hear you talking.
I cannot believe how much Maci has grown !!
Such a beautiful family!
Love this! ❤️❤️the kids are getting so big!
Maci is Growing Up! ❤
Hopefully she gets a new comfort "thing" and leaves the pacifier behind!
Each girl is adorable!❤
Kids don’t need comfort objects if their parents pay attention to them
I did the same about the paci to get my daughter off it. The next step I took after awake time no paci, was nap time no paci but could still at night. Then fully took it away after that! She's getting there! Good job Maci! You can do it!
Wow, the girls are so big and adorable! Rhett is very handsome!! Thanks for sharing!
Congratulations Maci, what a big girl sleeping in a big girl bed! Working on say “bye-bye” to your pacifier can be hard, but you’ve got it!
I never gave my children a pacifier. If a child is having a pacifier once there are teeth in their mouth, that could cause them to have buck teeth.
@@maryleve4793also the longer they have it the harder it is to give up
Allie telling you to shoo cause she was reading to Rhett was so cute.
Yeah 🎉big girl Maci
Praying that you and the family are safe through this hurricane.
Yuck lizards haha I'm so glad they aren't afraid of them because I sure am. Yay! No more paci, Keep up the Good job Maci 😁 dont go back haha love the big girl bed.
I am absolutely terrified of them! I mean I wouldn’t be any more afraid if it was a boa constrictor! I hate them so much.

Beautiful family. Love the Bates family, miss watching them on TV.

That intro music sounds like someone is turning the radio volume knob up and down. Doesnt do your cute family justice.🎉
Then don’t watch.
If you don’t get rid of the pacifier at a year old, it gets increasingly harder with every month. She really would be ok after a few nights, if you don’t give in.
Maci was adorable. Love her big girl bed.
Rhett is darn cute. Maci is such a big girl giving up pacifier
Maci is so Adorable ❤
Maci wasn't a baby no time. Such beautiful little girls. Sweet sweet family Alyssa.
My middle daughter loved her paci. I let her keep it under her pillow and let her have it at night. She did use it until she was three and then just wasn’t interested. Every child is different and they say that sometimes kids need to suck longer because it soothes them.
This was so sweet!! Maci sure is growing fast! Who is baby Brooks?
Maybe Erin’s daughter Brooklyn?
@ryanm7249 thats a good thought, But they said they were going to send the paci's to Baby Brooks, Brooklyn is an older child, she isn't a baby and wouldn't need paci's

Remember slow and steady wins the race! ❤ 🙏🏻
I loved how Maci's plush puppy looked like Mia
Sweet little Lexi and ms maci well done big girl maci. Just remind our little lady with her little cousin recently ❤
Awww...how is the baby doing? Is he all better from the RSV? He looks great!
You are like Maria in The Sound of Music with all your beautiful and sweet children.

Maci is so cute. Rhett going like a weed. Love all y'all .
Maci is so adorable with her facial expressions. A future actress?
Allie is such a great big sister.
I don't think Macey is falling for it!! 😂😂😂
We did exactly that with our girls. We started with just nap and bed time for the pacifier and kept praising them throughout the day. Then they just gave it up on their own during the night time.
I think Allie and Rhett looks just like John!!
I crack up when Maci gives you that mad face she is so cute
Most beautiful family and sweetest children 💕💕💕💕
Maci is a sweetheart !!
I loved that look Maci was giving you. It kind of looked like she was telling you with her mind. I'm not giving up my pacifier.😅😅😅
Macie like all your kids so sweet.
Maci is going to give you guys a run for your Money.. She’s going to use those gorgeous eyes to get too ya.. lol she’s a cutie pie!
Maxi is so cute I love frown face.❤
The girls are so sweet
How exciting for Maci!!!! Getting rid of the paci and getting a big girl bed!!!!!
We give my 20 month old his pacifier only to take naps and for bed. And when he got up he has to leave it in his bed. Sometimes he doesn’t even remember to use it when we put him to be 😊
Maci in her big girl bed: "I wanna bottle"....🤣

Maci will give it up when she is ready. Sometimes they just need a comfort zone that they are use to using.
Good job working through the paci with Maci !!

Awwww congratulations😂😂 thats ok she will get it lol
I never started my kids on paddies.I feel you.I did have a child stuck on bottle to age of 2.Out of sight out of mind worked.
I sucked my thumb until i was 5 yeats old and in kindergarten. I saw Cabbage Patch Kid dolls when they first arruved at JCPenney and that was all it took. That’s wrong to say. Babies focus on lots of things. He was looking at his parents too
Good good Maci she is beautiful good job everyone
Such good helpers!😂
Smallest child is Macie look at that how cool inside basket my name is Heather ha
I'm a nanny and have done the same and it was used at nap time and bed time, if they were in need it was in their room only. ❤ good luck
Where do you order matching dresses for you and your girls
Bravo Maci, tu es une grande fille !
Daddy got a lots of help.❤😊
Maci’s face says it all 😂
Zoe is so well spoken- all the girls are!
Both my kids never had pacis nor the blankie
Mine either, It's just a bad habit to break.
So glad to see Maci is going to give up the paci.
I’m sure daddy appreciated all the extra help!
So sweet.. she's got this! But who's baby Brooks?
I was wondering the same thing, lol
Brett looks so much like John
He is Rhett not Brett
