i’m with everyone else - don’t board up all the fireplaces. they’re such beautiful features & i’ve seen so many youtubers annihilate them, which frankly i think down the line is a terrible choice & investment. though i am curious about the sustainability of a fireplace and its’ impact versus expending gas and energy to run any type of central heating, i’m not sure on the facts. but please don’t board them all. also, i would renovate that cupboard before the kitchen, as there isn’t really anything wrong with the kitchen, just the aesthetic, but everything is wrong with that closet. it’s very old, the two doors really shrinks the utility, and storage space is so hard to come by in the UK. i’d fix it quickly (just the opinion of a young home owner!)
I really like the fireplaces it would be a shame to board them up because they are really nice features. But it’s your flat so you can go wild and do what makes you comfortable. But that one that’s long on one side couldn’t you just cut it to make it even?

I would actually do it the other way round - paint the dining room dark since it already looks like a darker room to begin with and the other room lighter because the windows will make it even brighter then. But since you have already started painting the shelving white, I'm happy to find out whatever you'll do to both rooms. :) I'm excited for more updates!

I think those wardrobes would look amazing (saving money) if the paint was stripped off, resanded them, repainted them and put new knobs on. I would also take the shelves out and put either a rail or a plant in that space. I would paint the little wooden bits on the doors (dont know what theyre called) a shade lighter or a shade darker than the main colour.

I think, personally, that you should keep the dining room fireplace. You could really turn that into something beautiful. Put a huge mirror above it to really open up the room. Also imagine how lovely it would look in the winter with holiday decorations and the tree. Also that leaves room still in your living room during the holidays.

Definitely don't get rid of the fireplaces. Also, if that's an original wardrobe/closet in the master, you should just paint it to make it more your style. Ripping out well made original features and putting in cheap IKEA furniture doesn't sound like a great move. Also, I bet you have hardwood floors under all of your carpeting. So, you won't need to replace all of your flooring if that's the case.

Caligula Longhbottom I wonder if she’d be allowed to have a ‘floating floor’? To protect the original boards. I think the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have had to do that in Frogmore Cottage when they renovated it. I’m not fully ‘up’ on listing regs though so who knows 🤷🏻♀️

Dining room cupboard should be a washer a dryer room from the outside (door from corridor) and make then a cabinet for the hoover and stuff, move the door from the angle

Don’t get rid of the kitchen worktops they look expensive and steady
It's very versatile because you can technically put a wall between the living room and dining room and make it into a three bedroom, great investment!
