As always, thanks for letting us tag along. That snow headed north, and east, fortunately and we only got ~2/3 of what you received. Southern MB hasn't been so fortunate; they're getting more today/tomorrow.
Great finds even though it was super cold. My hat's off to you for going anyhow and getting your hound on! I thought it was particularly funny that you don't trust the 'waterproofing' of your boots. I agree fully, nothing worse than wet feet on a cold day! Thanks for bringing us along, cheers!
These were so cool, what amazing finds today. Thanks for taking us along with you on your journey, I really appreciate it. The Yellowstone is the one place I would move to besides staying here in MI!
I love watching your videos Kate. My favorite find was that 1st bumpy layered nodule that looked "flattened" on the way back to the car. Warm up. happy hunting
@@KatyDidRocksi n the winter, and early spring I usually have snotcicles before I go home 😆 I always hafta start mt jeep so the steering wheel and seat are warm.
Great rock hunt. Definitely not nuts 😂😂😂😂 You found some nice rocks. I went out today on one of my favourite rivers, I thought the water was cold, but not as cold as where you were.
Those finds were awesome! The yellowstone has the best material! and so plentiful! I hope to make it to montana this summer! cant wait to see some of those beauties cut! Hopefully you didnt freeze your hands too bad, and it should be warming up soon!
Thank you for sharing your cold weather rockhounding adventure. It might be crazy to do, but it's the best to get out to our spots and look after ice out. The coldest I've hunted in was in November along the U.P. Michigan's western shores of Lake Superior at night looking for Yooperlites. It was crazy, but so much fun. Take care!
I saw a red jasper... jim finally got a nice pet wood. Is the milk agate kind of bluish? Our lapidary has stuff that was donated and very little is bluish milk agate. That seems appealing to me.
@@KatyDidRocks I guess I didn't get all my words out. Is it a white with bluish undertones.. the milk term makes me feel like that's part of it. Some of the white agates have black dendritic material and is interesting. You cut something that what mixture of white, yellow and translucent, you said that wasn't as interesting.. was that a milk agate?
Leave some beauties for me :) I just booked my flight for June 9th-12th to make my first rockhounding trip to Montana! I have no idea where to go or how to get to the gravel bars but I’m determined lol if you have any advice or wanna give me tips or even meet up that would make a dream come true for me :)
KatieI truly enjoy your videos. I am not new to collecting rocks but new to learning what rocks are what material. Can you please tell me the sprayer you use. Is it USB charged or battery?? Thanks. Jane
Under the Coastal Protection Act 1949, the removal of any natural material such as sand and pebbles and rocks from public beaches or rivers in the UK is illegal. Doh!
That's wild! I just looked up these guidelines: jollyexplorer.com/taking-pebbles-from-beach/. I'm wondering how the mudlarkers and fossil hunters manage...
FUN!
:)
Spring brings beautiful rocks. Thanks for taking us along.

The storms this month have been crazy.

I am glad you enjoyed it!
Hunting for agate in the river, even though the weather is cold, you are great my friend

You are crazy? :D

You know it’s cold when the dog calls it quits🤣🤣🤣 thanks for getting out there. It looked like fun.
LOL, right? It's always worth it, though.
Rock hounding is highly addictive as you already know Katy
Thanks, Nic!
Burrrrr. Pretty finds! 😍

It took me quite a while to get warm again after that - I suspect I was colder than I realized. :D

It was a very unusual storm - I was not pleased. :)

Thanks for watching!
Just ordered you book! Cant wait to receive it!
Awesome! Thank you!
I'll be traveling to Miles City this September and staying at the Big Sky RV Park in Miles City.
You have a dog that appreciates your lifestyle
She is my adventure partner, for sure!
What kind of people? Th best kind of people!
LOL!

"Milk agate" is just lingo for an agate that has impurities in it. They are also called "mud agates," but that seems harsh to me. :)

Wow, Robbi, that's great! The river may be high at that time, but there are lots of places to look for rocks while the river is high.

Hi, Jane, thanks! The sprayer is battery operated - there's a link in the description below the video. I really like it!
